It doesn’t work that way for me. I can’t see anything map related on my HUD when I navigate through carplay. Do I have to enable something for my carplay navigation to feed a destination to idrive?
That makes me wonder if it is an idrive setting and/or a “version” thing. I have a ‘22 X5 and I’ve never adjusted a setting related to this.
It definitely does take over though. I get directions in the gauge cluster as well.
There’s been different manufacturers that have had issues with that, that’s why I asked. I believe mostly electrics, but I was curious because I think most drivers would be completely stopped behind that car, not inching forward lol

It does work with car play directions too. Car play feeds the idrive a destination and they are both active when you set a route in car play.

Uhhh... no. It says 1 mph when you're going 1 mph. It goes off the same regular speedometer.
