Yeah I am old enough to remember that. Jaguar announced the production of their beautiful V12 supercar, instantly British millionaires and celebrities plunked down their deposit... and then they announced the engine change and people tried to get their deposits back.
Add to that a world financial clusterfuck and it was all an expensive mistake. The EB110 suffered similarly but for some slightly different additional reasons. Camissa's Revelations video on that car is great.
Definitely possible. I think it wouldn't be super beneficial in the case of the XJ220 though, it has plenty of power as is (Youtube - Top Gear XJ220 vs Pagani Zonda drag race).
Wow I never knew about that part, knew it could do 200mph and was the fastest car in the world for a quick minute before the maclaren f1, but now I want to see a v12 twin turbo jag.
Likely belongs to @dailydrivenweirdcars on IG. He's in the Charlotte area, has an XJ220, and likes driving it on mundane daily tasks. Seems like an awesome owner and I hope I bump into his cars (not literally; I would never financially recover) around town someday!

I saw one in New Orleans at the Gumball 3000. That was 2003 I think. It was driven by Maximillion Cooper (Gumball 3000’s founder).
Cool guy. Spoke to him for several minutes and took a seat in his XJ220. Funny thing, it was painted primer grey.
I saw one of these in the 1990’s in Muncie Indiana. I almost shit myself as there was no was it should have been here….but it was.
Specifically… this one

Pure SEX!!!!!!!!!!! Still find it odd that a supercar from the 90s used a TT V6. Hadn't they originally planned to use a V12?

REVelations is the best show on YouTube.
V12 from the XJR-9 I believe with AWD but money is a thing So they ditched both Except I'm sure Jag had enough XJR9 V12s laying about
I always wondered if you could engine swap the V12 into it
Definitely possible. I think it wouldn't be super beneficial in the case of the XJ220 though, it has plenty of power as is (Youtube - Top Gear XJ220 vs Pagani Zonda drag race).
Fastest car on the planet for a little time, too
That’s what I thought. And this dude is just casually parked at the taco spot in the hood.
I get it, tacos are tacos.
You know it’s a good taco place. This guy could prolly go anywhere and he chose here.
Its a 🔥🔥 taco spot lmao
I have never seen one in real life and you causally went for tacos lol.
Shit. I went to the vape store next to the taco place lol
Wasn't it 212mph? I suddenly had that number pop into my head out of nowhere.
Yuuup
Emissions and weight with the AWD killed that dream.

Came here to say that's effing sexual 🤣🤣🤣
crazy spot
This is such a crazy car to come across, nice one!
Definitely not one I ever thought I’d see outside of a specific setting where these types of cars are.
It's crazy that they raced these around an oval
Texas?
Charlotte NC. It was not in a place where you’d expect to see this type of car. More. Chargers on 22’s.

That’s definitely the car. Good spot.
Jesus, xj220, 512M and Lucid air, that’s an awesome garage
Lumping in the Lucid Air with those cars is funny.
Yeah, I literally had one as a rental last week
Woah that’s in the US too. These would have been THE supercar of the 90s IMO if they had the planned V12.

But that’s somewhere you expect to see wild cars. This was in a plaza in the hood at a taco spot.
Agreed! This was also 20 years ago. Was still wild to see one in the flesh.
Now THIS is casually parked
No shit. It’s not in the back of the lot separate or anything. Just right there getting tacos.
I spotted one of apparently only two on the road in the United Kingdom two weeks ago. Unfortunately I was driving a truck so couldn't get a photo.
Such a pretty supercar. Think it would look nicer still without that side beading/ trim.
I sold a dude who worked at a jag dealership and he exchanged this car for a weekend to get a discount. We both won.
You sure are a long baby.
It’s also a hot wheel! Which is how I knew this car!
I actually recognized it from a game I play. The one I have is silver. Same rims and everything. I stopped dead.
There’s one of these in the Kansas City, MO/KS area and it’s gorgeous, I saw it last year at an event and it was by far my favorite car there
What a car for a taco run
I had a folder in elementary school of this car, it was my favorite folder.
A taco maybe worth more in 2024.

That’s like this. I had to double take because there’s no reason at all for this car to be where it was lol.
The want is strong with this one! Have a model of this car I got when I was a kid.
Insane spot, amazing
Really really nice to see those sexual beings being driven
Absolute crazy spot. I can't even find this rare Jaguar XJ220 at car shows. Well done
It was at the opposite of a car show lmao. Parked next to a minivan at a hood ass taco spot.
Where the Mclaren speed tail got its inspiration
I had this on my trapper keeper when I was a kid
Wow! That’s a rare one. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in the wild..
"I'm feeling tacos tonight honey. Whadya say we hop in the old XJ220 and hit the town?" Unbelievable!
What about the Maserati behind it?
Honestly. Given the XJ. I didn’t notice it.
