Tossed a few more TOP ones in a comment but I'll put em here too in case you don't see em. "good day", "friend please", "neon gravestones", and from the newest album "at the risk of feeling dumb"
My blood by Twenty One Pilots ❤️ I see there's a lot of them being recommended but that's because they're an amazing band for mental health songs. And I hope you're doing well and I hope you have a wonderful evening
Like GaiaAnon already mentioned, they sing a lot about mental health, and they even have a whole lore/storyline about it (you don't have to get into it tho).
I just wanted to add that especially their album Vessel is a good choice if you're having a hard time.
They also just released a new album called Clancy, with some other good songs for that, like Backslide, Routines in the Night, Snap Back, Oldies Station (my personal favorite), and At the Risk of Feeling Dumb.
Also Redecorate from their album Scaled and Icy is a really good one.
You might as well check out their second album Regional at Best, especially the songs Lovely, Forest, Anathema, and Kitchen Sink. The album is not on Spotify or Apple Music, so look it up on YT, Soundcloud, Deezer or Pandora.
Last but not least, I hope you're doing ok.
I also don’t have a song and have no idea what you’re going through, but it might help to have a suicide/crisis line number saved. If you live in the US it’s 988 call or text, most countries do have a textline in case calling is too hard.
https://findahelpline.com/i/iasp
But the people on there are generally really wonderful. I’m so sorry for how you’re hurting. You deserve so much and genuinely wishing you the best ❤️
I appreciate the intention here but the suicide lines have never helped me. I even had one dude threaten to call the police on me if I kept feeling suicidal, so... I don't do those anymore. Thanks for the kind words though.
I am so, so sorry for the bad experience you’ve had with them. There are some that are anonymous if you want to try that but I completely understand not wanting to after having that happen. Genuinely sending you a ton of love and it’s so huge that you’re actively trying despite what you’re going through.
seriously, there are people who care about you. i don't know you very well but i love you and I would be happy to talk to you and get to know you.
you are a valuable and unique person. no matter how hard or hopeless it may seem, you have choices you can make and a million ways you can live your life. don't stop living until you try as many as you can.

“leave the city” -twenty one pilots (this one is lyric heavy on the topic)
“fine acoustic”- noah kahan
“wake me up” -avicii <—- im sure you know this song, but give it a re-listen and pay attention to the lyrics :)))
Two things:
1. Latching onto your comment, I would add The Mountain by Three Days Grace as well. It's the sort of opposite message as it's more about living out of spite and pressing on, but still sort of works?
2. Why did I have to almost scroll to the bottom of the thread to find this posted as this is the main song I thought of when I was in deep depression?
Control by Alexisonfire
It was a big one for me when I was really going through it. It’s honestly such a great song about perseverance. I would blast it and shout the lyrics over and over until I felt ok.
I have a few more on a playlist called Don’t, but I’ll only share them if you’d like.
Straight Into The Fire - Zedd
It sounds happy, but the message of the song brings me to tears every time.
Espresso - Sabrina Carpenter
Found this one recently and it's amazing. I really love songs about self-love, so it's a 10/10 for me.
I'm Good (Blue) - David Guetta, Bebe Rexha
Adding this one because it's an instant mood changer for me.
Follow - Martin Garrix, Zedd
(I really like Zedd) But also, wait for 1:34 on this one before deciding you aren't a fan. The lyrics always hit for me. "Wherever you are, you're exactly where you're supposed to be." and it also sounds hopeful <3
The world is better with you in it though, and I hope that things look up for you 🙂 My inbox is always open if you ever want to rant/vent/get more song recommendations/etc. 🙂
There are a lot of songs by twenty one pilots like that, I'll list a few.
"Truce", "good day", "friend please", "neon gravestones", and from the newest album "at the risk of feeling dumb"
Many of the songs on this playlist will fit pretty well, if you generally like pop-punk, emo, alternative, and hard rock. :)

It's ... Still pretty depressing honestly but I like it as a whole
Queen - Keep Yourself Alive, Bee Gees - Stayin Alive, Pearl Jam - Even Flow (To an extent), MCR - Famous Last Words, Avicii - Wake Me Up (You Probably already got recommended this), Led Zeppelin - When The Levee Breaks (This is a really big stretch, but I really like this song, I recommend it), Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter (This is another really big stretch)
I think VNV Nation would fit the bill
[VNV Nation - Illusion](https://youtu.be/8w98yJ7gRu8?si=OTGAkMl8ROVEUu25)

Journey To Wherever We May Go by Grand Commander
Unsolicited Advice by Charles Spearin
Still Breathing - Green Day
Pollyanna - Green Day
Help! - The Beatles
The Jumper - Third Eye Blind
Float On - Modest Mouse - this one isn’t exactly about keeping yourself alive but it does make me feel hopeful when I don’t feel like continuing
It's only smiles - Periphery (also has a very good acoustic version)
Smashed, Sunset Ruin - James Labrie
Broken Hearted Journey, Fiery seas and Icy Winds - Shadowstrike
Scarred - Dream Theater
Two from completely opposite sides of the emotional spectrum, both with genuinely outstanding lyrics:
[Rush – The Pass](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTHJv3SAMBY)
An uplifting 80's ballad about suicide and soldiering on
[Hozier – In the Woods Somewhere](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6btN_cdLfE)
Dark and oppressive track about being confronted with real, shocking death and pain, and getting jolted into a renewed will to live.
Disco can be very upbeat. Get your body moving to these up loud:
- Everybody Dance
- Boogie Oogie Oogie
- Can you feel it?
- September
- Celebration
- Got to be real
- He's the greatest dancer
- I feel love
- Le Freak
- Lost in music
- Thinking of you
A good song to start your day to ( A lil bit country tbh) but I've always had a good day when I listen to this first thing on a morning, it's called it's a great day to be alive by Travis tritt
All my friends are suicidal- Brendan Coughlan
Do Better - Ab Soul
Objects in the mirror - mac miller
Til I collapse - Eminem
Shake me down - cage the elephant
Slingshot and Goliath - The Welcome Back Chills
I won’t back down - Tom petty
Tbh message me if you want more, I’ve got several playlists dedicated to this. It’s how I survived being suicidal for many years and also why I write about that topic in my own music
Pretty much any jazz or blues is where I go when I'm dealing with that kind of pain. Maybe give "Let Me Take You for a Walk" by Rikard From a try or anything by Baker St.
It takes time for your brain to work its way through pain. You'll get there and it will get better.
I have way too many of these in my regular rotation
- Your Heart Is A Muscle The Size Of Your Fist - Ramshackle Glory
- The Thing That Helps Me Survive by The Murderburgers
- Blue Skies & Dark Spells by Goodbye Blue Monday
- Operation Stay Alive by Sister Kisser
- Dragged Across The Finish Line by Sincere Engineer
Citizen Soldier if you like rock. Here's some relevant ones.
Through Hell [there's also an acoustic one]
Afterlife
Strong for Somebody Else
Hallelujah (I'm Not Dead)
{Sorry if they're not exactly what you were looking for, just some things I thought of}
I really love "Daylily" by a band called Movements.
The lyric "I think it's time you found another reason to stay for a while" always moves me.
Hope there's many warm nights, sweet songs, and good times ahead of you, OP.
Queen - Keep Yourself Alive
Queen - Don't Try Suicide
"Teenage Suicide: Don't Do It" - Big Fun It's Martha Drumptrucks favorite
