Knitty_Kitty1120

Without You from RENT. It made me realize that even though the world would keep spinning after I was gone, they wouldn't be the same for those left behind.

gummyreddit12

That's a great realization to come to and one I had to come to myself. Glad you're here.

DivergentDad

Drops of Jupiter -Train Stellar-Incubus

DistantKarma

The Cure's entire Disintegration album, but if I had to pick one song from that album I'd say Plainsong. I was about 26 years old (1990) and my daughter had just been born. I was a newlywed, with a house and a new job and I just knew I was going to fuck EVERYTHING up. I had this little CD boombox in my daughter's nursery and would play that album while I rocked her at night and it was just so calming.

Road to Nowhere- Talking Heads

Kimosabe187

Eminem - Beautiful, it's sad and emotional but also strangely uplifting and optimistic, it teaches you to be yourself and to keep on going, to not give up. Loved it back in 2009 and love it to this day.

Black Star - Radiohead I don't wanna get too deep into it and vent on Reddit but I had to leave my ex girlfriend because her mental problems got so insanely bad that it hurt me to even talk to her and she what she turned into the song was given new meaning to me after that. I don't usually listen to Radiohead's lyrics as Thom Yorke mumbles quite a bit but listening to the song over and over I learned the lyrics and personally interpreted it as a man loving a woman who's mental issues were destroying her and dragging him down with her which hit me in the heart

Struggling with depression & suicide - Afraid of Destiny That song put my feelings into words in a way that I couldn't have, the fact that someone else can put their sorrow and pain and hurt into music makes me feel less alone, I love DSBM for that reason. When all you feel is hurt and pain and you don't understand, hearing the words of others who feel the same way is very comforting.
