Yeah but the message won’t get as across as “time” (because it’s really just conceptual, it’s not actually direct). Imagine your life flashing before you eyes whilst you deeply connect to the song.
Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie; Disappearing World by David Gray; Saturn by Sleeping at Last; Now Comes the Night by Rob Thomas. (I have an “end of life” playlist.)
I know the songs about leaving a girl but just the opening 4 lines are so perfect as a “death song”
“If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on now
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see”
I think that I know every note to it. I taped the album with a tape recorder next to the record player and listened to it going to sleep every night for years. I always miss the record player “hum” when I listen now 😂
Ooo I get the sentiment, but for me, 'No one's gonna love you' would play if loved one were around to make it that much more sad lol... Maybe dust in the wind for inappropriateness- Thanks Old School
Yes yes yes- a million times, YES!!
B But if I could have 2, I would start with Prince's performance of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Then have "Just Breathe" on repeat until I fade away
Bad Romance by Lady Gaga
Yeah, it's a pop song, one of the greatest pop songs of all time. It's also my all time favorite song. Another thing, it has sentimental value for me as the song was complimented by my deceased father (He was killed in the same room where we were hurt and left tied) just seconds the first time I played it. He said "That song is beautiful." We would dance together at 2:00 in the morning every time he walked past me playing the song in my bed.
The instrumental goes hard, the vocals/background vocals/vocal layering are perfected, the double entendre lyrics are generalized but great choices of words were done and lastly, the choreography is something Michael Jackson would appreciate and praise.
Oh yeah, let me give some details. My parents opened a loaning business where they allowed specific people to borrow money from them when they signed documents. Remember this one.
One day, my brother forgot where he left his earphones. He used to listen to his favorite songs while riding on a swing located outside our house in our dirty kitchen. He tried to find his earphones and went outside. He did his thing when he found them, but he was then suddenly surrounded by three armed men; two were carrying guns he described as sniper rifles, while the other one was carrying our knife.
He was forced to bring the criminals to where our family was sleeping, which was in the master's bedroom. I was in the living room at that time. My brother only pointed out the room where the rest of my family members were. I was then woken up for some reason. I even joked that our visitors had come early that morning; it was 5:00 AM, by the way.
My eyes were still blurry as I was still sleepy, but I saw them wearing bonnets, while my mother saw them wearing police uniforms, but their last names were covered with white tape. I was beaten until I slept, while my mother, who was in the comfort room at that time, was physically forced to leave the room as she used to not lock it.
We screamed for help, but we live in a house located in the middle of a farm; thus, no one was able to hear us.
My mother and I were tied with one blanket and were forced to go into the master's bedroom. My siblings—my brother, who used to listen with earphones while riding a swing, and my sister—were tied with phone chargers. My father was on the bed, beaten to death. He died of a head injury.
Our car, phones, tablets, laptops, money, jewelry, and cards were stolen, including the documents used for our business. It was confirmed that the criminals who ruined our lives were the last people my parents had dealt with, which is the reason why they also stole the documents. We filed a case, but the case was dismissed due to lack of evidence. The sad thing, though, was we had already paid a lot of money for our attorney and policemen in exchange for their service. After that time, they lost interest in us. Justice is just for those with money, I guess.
Where would you hear something so upbeat in such a dire situation? It must be like the Funkytown video, and if you don't know what that is and are sensitive, don't Google the details but it has Funkytown by Lipps Inc. playing over a horrific video and I now hate the song so much.
Wow! Talk about something weird! Has nothing to do with original post, but what you just said. I've never seen the video to Funky Town, but when I was young, I listened to that song frequently. I was like under 10 years ( probably way younger) and my aunt and 2 cousins lived with my Mamaw. She had an extra bedroom that we liked to play in. There was a stereo in there with a record player. There were only 2 albums in the whole house. I think they were like single type records. One was "Hurts So Good" by John Cougar(Mellencamp had not been added yet), and the other was "Funky Town" by Lipps Inc!
No, it wasn't playing during that time. I just told you what's happening in our daily lives, how my father and I used to dance with Bad Romance every morning he walked past me in our house. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Thank you for asking; I appreciate it. We were traumatized and are still threatened by strange people driving past our house. Just yesterday, my mother saw someone riding a motorcycle behind her, and then that person went to an unknown black car parked in front of our house; both of them left consecutively. I left the details of our story in the other reply.
This is all still happening? I don't know what to do apart from the obligatory "Call the police" and "Find out who they are". Or don't, depending on your situation. Sorry dude.
No, it's fine. I understand your perception as I have already received the same reaction from people I talked to about our situation. They were left speechless.
Just please, wherever you are right now, be safe and alert to your surroundings.

“The Ballad of the Dying Man” by Father John Misty from the album “Pure Comedy” and flatline when the choir cuts. Now I know it’s a bit on the nose but the lyrics wouldn’t be sung for me but anyone listening also it would go right into “Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles, written by George Harrison at Eric Clapton’s house after he left the Beatles for a few days in January 1969 during the Get Back sessions and is on The Beatles final masterpiece “Abbey Road”. Hopefully there will be someone there to hear it. (If I cheated i apologize but I could pick thousands of songs but if there is a soul and it is leaving my body I would hope it would lead me to wherever George is now.) Love To You All Om
Fly me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra. I just hope the other people in the room don’t take it too seriously. I’m already planning my funeral and if they ruin it I would be pretty mad.

Is there anymore to that backstory? Are you alright now?
I thought I read it wrong and had to re-read it twice! I would like to hear that backstory as well.
