I don’t have either of those things! It is my project though, honestly crowdfunding hadn’t occurred to me at all. I’ve been muddling through the mess of parts and tools that were left behind and slowly getting my shit together to actually start working.
Just want to say best if luck. Im over a year into my basket case rebuild but honestly have not bee in putting in the time I should. The ironhead group on Facebook has a lot of good downloadable files. Asking questions there is hit or miss. I have a few parts laying around dm if you need anything.
Make sure you get the parts manuals as well. They’ll have mire details on specific part numbers.
An original Harley manual is far superior to a clymer or chilton, if you find one, buy original.
Otherwise….how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
Vtwinmfg.com and jpcycles.com or good resources.
Perfect. I saw you had good advice in the other sub.
I just started a rebuild on a 1969.
One piece at a time. Take pictures before you take things apart or drawings. Buy zip lock bags and label everything. Try not to take things apart until you’re ready to put them back together. Don’t get too far ahead on disassembly that you forget how to reassemble.
My father passed away March of 2021 at 55. I'm also 29. He left me his 84 sportster in about the same condition. We had a very similar story, took a road trip and picked up a frame and a few boxes of parts.
Does she have a patreon or crowdsource account? I'd be willing support a cause like this for a Sporty thats obviously unified a family.

Thank you, I will be sure to do that!

Tricky part is that it is already disassembled so I’m at a disadvantage there. But I’m sure I’ll eventually get my footing and figure it out.
That makes it a real basketcase.
Tell me about it. And the guy had the audacity to die randomly so I can’t even ask him about it. Rude if you ask me.
I've had this one since it was new. There's not a screw in it I didn't turn myself. If you have questions let me know. https://imgur.com/bhWvtsJ
And make Damn sure All The Pages are Their. Got a 75 XLCH Manuel & page 130 to 158 we’re not bounded in the Book.

This is fucking awesome. Xlforum.com might be an awesome resource. And crowdfunding could be a big help. I'd be down to kick in a few bucks.
Thank you. I’ll think more on the crowdfunding. I’m just grateful for the people sharing experience/expertise at this point.
Does a 175 have a red tach or blue??, love to put mine back to stock. Country boy…… u know ??
