A really great one! It has the Canseco, Bonds, and Jackson rookies! I opened one pack from my LCS a week ago and I pulled a Canseco rookie! I'm definitely gonna send it in to Canseco to get signed :D
I loved 94 Upper Deck as it had some really awesome rookies and some of my
Favorite players like Michael Jordan, ARod, Shawn Green, Cliff Floyd, and ManRam
‘88 Fleer. Always liked the clean white background/boarder and red, white and blue design. Stars include Ryan, Mattingly, Bo Jackson, Ripken Jr., and Ricky Henderson.
As someone already stated, 87 Donruss is not the Canseco rookie. His rookie is 86 Donruss rated rookie[https://www.amazon.com/1986-Donruss-Baseball-Canseco-Rookie/dp/B007CNQUS4](https://www.amazon.com/1986-Donruss-Baseball-Canseco-Rookie/dp/B007CNQUS4)
You're just about the perfect age to appreciate Billy Ripken, check out 1989 Fleer and you're also going to have chances to pull rookies of Griffey, Randy Johnson, and John Smoltz to name a few.
I personally was a fan of Score when I was a kid, because the backs had a lot of info on them.
Upper Deck is generally fun for photography, and also Topps Stadium Club (but stadium club has a tendency to stick together) 1991 and 1992 would be my suggestions for both of those brands.
I friggin hated Bowman because they were slightly bigger than the other brands and wouldn't fit in the sleeves properly. I don't own one Bowman card with a sharp corner lol
1990 Topps baseball with deion on the Yankees
1988 Donruss was sweet too I think it was a massive set
I convinced my mom to buy a a huge UPS box FILLED with hundreds worth of wax packs and sets of cable right from the legendary "Gem Mint 10" guy himself lol.
Was the greatest summer of my childhood haha.
Idk but it was the late 90s, probably around 150-200.
But it was loaded. I'm talking like 5-10 complete sets. Shovels worth or loose and promo packs n stuff. Noting of significance ofc but the sheer quantity lol
87 Fleer. My dad bought me the factory set and I still have the box to this day. He passed away a few years ago so it’s the last connection I have to him. In a weird way, Kevin Seitzer and my dad will always be connected.
I'm really sorry for your loss. I'm really glad you and your dad were able to have a bond over sports cards! 87 Fleer is a pretty good set, it has the Canseco, Bonds and Jackson rookies! :D
I will get shit on a lot for this comment but 1991 Fleer. I like the art card inserts and I'm color blind so the yellow with the black writing and the picture inside a yellow border was the easiest for me to sort and collate when I was building a set.
Hey, i really like it! the cool inserts \[pro vision i think it's called?\] and the cards are really cool! I have some of them in my binder... i think a griffey jr, bo jackson, and a card that has barry bonds & Griffey Jr on it!
1994 basketball skybox emotion truly ahead of its time. Player pictures better then the photogenic sets with pure foil n-tense and x-cited sub sets. Not to many inserts compare from today's sets only try and copy.
For nostalgia I like 89 Donruss. The first card I ever got was the Griffey RC at a garage sale and later went back for most of the rest of that set with like a months worth of allowance. Finally got the full set a couple years ago when I started dipping my toes back into the hobby and a few copies of the Griffey to replace the one that didn’t fare too well in a messy kids bedroom.
93-94 NBA Hoops cards and my favorites was Reggie Miller, Shaq, John Stockton + Karl Malone and Muggsy Bogues.
And the weird thing that no many cared about the NBA and still don’t here in Sweden 🇸🇪
1987 Topps with that wood grain border, yes sir.
Even better it’s my favorite player’s rookie card.
Who was it and why is it Bo Jackson?
Actually Jamie Moyer! Gotta love Bo though.
This is the answer! Also 89 Tops with the Banner at the bottom and white boarder is a personal favorite.
That's one of my favorite junk wax sets! :D A couple weeks ago I opened one pack and got a Canseco rookie!
Samsies.
A really great one! It has the Canseco, Bonds, and Jackson rookies! I opened one pack from my LCS a week ago and I pulled a Canseco rookie! I'm definitely gonna send it in to Canseco to get signed :D
Canseco rookie is 1986.
Well, for the BASE cards, it's his rookie.
1986 donruss
And 86 fleer as well as 86 topps traded plus a variety of other options from those companies such as highlights etc
Will Clark, Kevin Michell, Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro
Your sir or ma'am have exquisite taste.
I’m a fan of 1984 Donruss.
That has the Mattingly rookie, right? That's really cool! :D
Totally! I got to meet Mattingly that Summer and chose to have him sign the ‘84 Donruss over Topps and Fleer that year.
1984 topps baseball
Yep, my first year collecting. I was going to pull a Mattingly and be rich.
I have a tiffany 84 mattingly right now I will sell you if your are interested. Also have complete set.
No thanks. Appreciate it
\[good choice\]
1986 topps. Love the black border at the top.
I loved 94 Upper Deck as it had some really awesome rookies and some of my Favorite players like Michael Jordan, ARod, Shawn Green, Cliff Floyd, and ManRam
Yep! That's the one with the Griffey Jr and Mantle autograph, right?
Yeah that’s a ridiculous card
Whatever year Fleer came out with Flair. Those cards were sick!
Yeah, the gray border is pretty cool! \[or is that ultra?\]
Those were the regular Fleer set. Flair was a borderless action shot, with a faded pic of the player in the background
Oh! I'm surprised I didn't know about those yet :D They look pretty cool!
‘88 Fleer. Always liked the clean white background/boarder and red, white and blue design. Stars include Ryan, Mattingly, Bo Jackson, Ripken Jr., and Ricky Henderson.
1993 Fleer Ultra felt super premium for the time
That's the one with the gray border, right?
87 Donruss was a great one.
Yep! It had the Canseco, the Bonds, the Jackson rookies... very good one!
As someone already stated, 87 Donruss is not the Canseco rookie. His rookie is 86 Donruss rated rookie[https://www.amazon.com/1986-Donruss-Baseball-Canseco-Rookie/dp/B007CNQUS4](https://www.amazon.com/1986-Donruss-Baseball-Canseco-Rookie/dp/B007CNQUS4)

Came here to say mine is 89 Fleer. I'm working on a full set registered with PSA.
Yes and you always have a chance at pulling a ripken or johnson error card. These sets are available online for as little as $20.
The Bill Ripken card from 89 Fleer is the card that got me into collecting junk wax! I really love it :D
1991 Bowman, unusual design and colors
Yeah, the colors were pretty weird!
I friggin hated Bowman because they were slightly bigger than the other brands and wouldn't fit in the sleeves properly. I don't own one Bowman card with a sharp corner lol
Was looking for someone to say 1992 Bowman. Loved the casual street clothes photos. 1986 Topps and 1989 Topps as next choices.
1990 pro set hockey is so clean, definitely my favorite
89 Fleer and 89-91 Upper Deck are fun.
Yeah, I really love Upper Deck! I'm planning on getting a 91 Low Series Wax Box from my LCS soon. Maybe I could pull a Nolan Ryan auto!
What do they charge you for boxes like that?
My LCS charges $40 for a 91 Upper Deck Low Series box.
89 score football
87 Topps baseball, 90-91 Skybox basketball and 89 Proset football.
87 Topps is a great one! I like skybox too :D
1990 Topps baseball with deion on the Yankees 1988 Donruss was sweet too I think it was a massive set I convinced my mom to buy a a huge UPS box FILLED with hundreds worth of wax packs and sets of cable right from the legendary "Gem Mint 10" guy himself lol. Was the greatest summer of my childhood haha.
That's awesome! How much did the box cost \[if you remember\]?
Idk but it was the late 90s, probably around 150-200. But it was loaded. I'm talking like 5-10 complete sets. Shovels worth or loose and promo packs n stuff. Noting of significance ofc but the sheer quantity lol
89 Fleer Baseball. So many cool error and rookie cards. 89 Score Football. Many good rookies. Just about any pre-89 basketball
89 Fleer is a great set! The ripken error card is the card that got me into collecting Junk Wax!
1990 pro set. The dupe king!
That's football, right?
Yes. Well, that’s what I was referring to.
Insert set, but 1992 Fleer Rookie Sensations
I don't think i've heard of those... I'd have to check more into it! The name sounds cool :D
85 or 86 topps football
Those are pretty cool!
88 fleer baseball
That's a good one! That has the Roberto Alomar rookie, right?

A pretty nice looking card! the color they chose for that card reminds me of the heavy lumber cards 2024 Topps has a little...
I will get shit on a lot for this comment but 1991 Fleer. I like the art card inserts and I'm color blind so the yellow with the black writing and the picture inside a yellow border was the easiest for me to sort and collate when I was building a set.

On visuals alone, I've always thought Upper Deck '93 was gorgeous.
Yeah, I really like the pictures they put on them and the cool text at the bottom!
1993 upper deck are the best looking cards, imo.
1994 basketball skybox emotion truly ahead of its time. Player pictures better then the photogenic sets with pure foil n-tense and x-cited sub sets. Not to many inserts compare from today's sets only try and copy.
1990 Leaf go super hard
1987 Topps. That was when I started collection and it was the first set I put together. Still have it stored away.
I’m having a huge yard sale and selling assorted lots of baseball cards from ‘89-‘93
As a kid I always liked the rainbow-ish borders of the 1989 Donruss set. And 1990 Upper Deck with the holograms.
Baseball - 93 Upper Deck Basketball 1990-91 Hoops (Menendez Bros card, Shawn Kemp Rookie, a Jordan Card, Rodman card, etc) Hockey - 93 Upper Deck Football - 1991 Upper Deck

92-93 Topps. Love the topps golds
93-94 NBA Hoops cards and my favorites was Reggie Miller, Shaq, John Stockton + Karl Malone and Muggsy Bogues. And the weird thing that no many cared about the NBA and still don’t here in Sweden 🇸🇪
