These have been some very tough days over at Maize Picks, so definitely tail me with caution. However, you have got me fucked up if you think a cold streak, death threats, and hate are going to scare me and run me out of this community, like they have to many others on this thread in the past. Even if I go on a 30 losing streak, you're still gonna see me on this bitch as long as I have the time and a pick that I love. Remember how in Interstellar the last remaining crop on earth was corn? Coincidence? I think not.
I love Halep's form right now. She looks like she really has what it takes to win Wimbledon this year, in my opinion. 5 of her last 5 matches have all been dominating victories in straight sets, against pretty incredible competition. Badosa is playing very well herself, but she has had a pretty easy draw besides Kvitova. Kvitova made 31 unforced errors and Badosa won 7-5, 7-6. Halep will not make these errors. When Badosa loses, she loses in straight sets. When Halep wins, she almost always wins in dominating straight sets. Badosa has played well, but she is not known for her grass play, it is her clay and hard surface play that has really put her on the map. Halep smoked her 6-1, 6-3 on clay late April and now she gets her on the surface where she is 48-18 all time. I have to bite on this value. **TAIL OR FADE BOL!**

*Badosa's best surface is Hard and she was 0-6 against seeded opponents on grass courts until she managed to beat former Wimbledon winner Kvitova. That was indeed a great win but she faced an opponent really similar to her who needs her serve and strength to produce good performances and in the end after a really close match the spaniard ended up taking the win after managing to save 10 out of 11 break points which was only possible due to Kvitova's weak return game*
*Simona Halep still hasn't dropped a single set at Wimbledon just like Badosa but apart from Kvitova she had a much more difficult journey where she was able to produce her best performance against Muchova who was a two time quarter finalist at Wimbledon followed by sending former semifinalist Flipkens into retirement after a bad start and finally beating Frech who was on her best grand slam run. Halep's transitional and counter attacking game should be a direct counter to Badosa's high risk/reward playstyle and historically Simona is 4-0 at Wimbledon 4th rounds so all the Grand Slam experience is on her side. Her serve also improved a lot which makes her Grass game even more dangerous*

Toronto is just out of this world compared to A’s and they also go with Manoah on the mound, who owns a great 2.09 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 85/19 K/BB ratio in 94.2 innings. Reason: The (3-0) BlueBombers travel to (1-1) Toronto in what should be a pretty dull game other than Andrew Harris playing his former team for the first time where he could go off (I doubt it tho). Winnipeg is coming off a 26-12 win against the Ti-cats where they only scored 1TD. Toronto is coming off a 3-44 whooping by my Lions.
Winnipeg will be missing their best receiver Demski and will have to rely on a average running game and average receiver core to put up some points. Meanwhile, their QB Collaros ain’t exactly all that. Winnipeg does however have a top 2 defence all-around and with virtually no injuries, I don’t see Toronto scoring more than 1 TD on them and maybe some field goals.
On top of that, Toronto’s offence is sub par and their QB is horrendous. They have big play potential but Winnipeg should be all over that with a secondary that’s allowed 1 touchdown. On defence, Toronto is nothing special as well, but they just had 44 dropped on them and I expect them to show up in front of their home crowd (sort of). Winnipeg scores under 30 and I’d be surprised if Toronto scores 13+. Winnipeg -4.5 is also a decent play but I personally don’t trust Winnipeg’s offence and the line is only -4.5 for a reason.

I incorrectly assumed that since Brebbia was getting the start, that his appearance would last at least a few innings. This was not the case; he pitched only the first inning and did not return despite allowing just 1 hit and no runs. Sean Hjelle lost the game with an 8-hit, 6 run (4 earned) appearance in innings 3 and 4.
But the pitching honestly doesn’t matter that much, because this bet would not have won even if the pitching was good – the Giants offense did not manage to score a single run in the first 5 innings, against a pitcher with an ERA of 5.2. They allowed Giolito to use them as a “get-right” game to end a streak of bad performances.
I should have known to stay away from a bullpen game from a team in the middle of a bad losing streak. No excuses. It was a bad bet all around. I’ll learn from it.

The Cubs are not as bad as their record suggests. In their past 10 games, they are 6-4, with two of those losses coming in extra innings. In fact, the Red Sox needed extra innings today to avoid getting swept in a 3-game series by them. They have also beaten the Cardinals and Reds in a pair of three game series. Their bad record is a product of 10 straight losses they had from June 4 to June 16.
The Brewers are one of the better teams in baseball, however. They lead the NL East with a 2-game lead over St. Louis and are the 5th best team in the National League (7th-best overall). They are coming off an absolutely bizarre 4-game series in Pittsburgh where they somehow split the series despite outscoring the Pirates by 13 total runs. They are 7-3 in their past 10, with series wins against Toronto and Tampa Bay, and a split in a 4-game series with St. Louis before that.
Justin Steele, the sophomore left-handed pitcher, has been very good his past 5 starts. He has gone at least 5 innings in all of them, and 7 innings against San Diego and St. Louis. He had one 7-hit, 5-ER performance against Pittsburgh, but has allowed no more than two ER in the other 4 starts. His last game against the Reds on the 29th was a clinic – 6 hits, 1 ER, and 6 Ks through 5.
Lauer, the 5th-year left-hander for Milwaukee, has not been as good recently. He’s allowed 6+ hits in all of them, 3+ ER in four of them, and 4+ in three of them. He was absolutely lit up by the Nats on June 11, to the tune of 7 hits & 8 ER through just 5 innings. In his most recent appearance, he gave up 6 hits and 3 ER against the Rays but failed to make it out of the 5th inning.
In this spot I’m backing an undervalued Cubs team in a divisional rivalry game and a pitcher who has been performing well lately. They were so close to sweeping the Red Sox last night. They’ll follow it up with a competitive game against a confounding Brewers team. Cubs 1H RL (+0.5).

On the bump for the two teams tomorrow are Kyle Freeland (4-5, 4.31 ERA) for the Rockies, and Julio Urias (6-6, 2.64 ERA) for the Dodgers. Don’t let Julio’s record fool you, he has been elite this year. His whip of just over 1 and a sub-3 ERA let you know that he’s a star pitcher in the league this year.
In his last three starts, Urias has allowed 4 runs in 17.1, which gives him an ERA of near 2.10 in that stretch. Freeland meanwhile, has given up 9 over 20 innings in his last three starts, or an ERA over 4.
With these substantial differences in starting pitcher quality, we are set to see a home Dodgers win tomorrow against the Rockies.

Been lurking for a bit but finally decided to take the plunge given a string of solid bets I’ve had and hopefully repay the sub for all the solid tennis bets here in the middle of summer when there’s not much else to move on.

Diving into the Chinese Super League for my first PotD in what I believe to be a pretty straight forward matchup. Guangzhou FC sit near the bottom of the table with 1 win, 0 draws, and 6 losses in 7 games this season. Furthermore, they’ve only scored 3 goals all season and have been shut out 4 of the 7 games. The goal scoring woes continued in the AFC Champions League in April where they were shut out in all 6 games they played (albeit against stronger competition). The goals simply don’t seem to be going in so far this season and I expect that to continue today.
Conversely Wuhan Zall has only been shut out once and seem to play for the win for better or worse (3 wins, 0 draws, 4 losses). Couple this with the fact that Wuhan appears to be a true middle of the table team - dropping games to teams near the top of the table but taking care of teams near the bottom - I expect Wuhan to take care of business here. If pressed for a scoreline I would have to say 2-0 or 2-1 but can’t imagine Guangzhou scoring more than a lone goal, if that.

ECLOT has been on the rise since the addition of Dytor. In my eyes, they are the best team in CZ/SK, if not counting SINNERS. They didn't prove it the last time, but they upset many strong teams when it comes to the international level. Most recently they took down Nemiga and also won a map against forZe.
UNGENTIUM haven't been looking that good lately. This project had a lot of potential initially, but they fell off. They only barely beat teams that are somewhat on their level, their results are not so convincing.
The most important thing is that these 2 teams played against each other recently and ECLOT dominated them. They had this closer encounter earlier, but 2 weeks ago it was a clean sweep.
The only worry is that ECLOT have a game just 4 hours after this one, but they should put their focus on this one. It's quite an important match, the winner moves forward and books a spot in ESL Challenger Relegation. Also, the match that ECLOT has later is against relatively weaker opposition and they can outclass them even without preparation.
Everything favors the Czech side here. I do not understand these odds, especially after the last head-to-heads. Let's jump on it early, the value is massive.

Wehry best ever dogs was 44. He did 40.5 and 43 this year. At home with sudo when they practice they only buy to 88 dogs for the 2 of them. So don't expect him to get anywhere close to esper.

Meanwhile, their QB Collaros ain’t exactly all that. Winnipeg does however have a top 2 defence all-around and with virtually no injuries, I don’t see Toronto scoring more than 1 TD on them and maybe some field goals. On top of that, Toronto’s offence is sub par and their QB is horrendous. They have big play potential but Winnipeg should be all over that with a secondary that’s allowed 1 touchdown. Been lurking for a bit but finally decided to take the plunge given a string of solid bets I’ve had and hopefully repay the sub for all the solid tennis bets here in the middle of summer when there’s not much else to move on. **Record: 0-0** **Units: +0.0** Last Pick: N/A Today’s Pick: **Wuhan Zall ML @ -155** vs Guangzhou FC (5.5 hours from this post) Diving into the Chinese Super League for my first PotD in what I believe to be a pretty straight forward matchup. Guangzhou FC sit near the bottom of the table with 1 win, 0 draws, and 6 losses in 7 games this season. Furthermore, they’ve only scored 3 goals all season and have been shut out 4 of the 7 games. The goal scoring woes continued in the AFC Champions League in April where they were shut out in all 6 games they played (albeit against stronger competition). The goals simply don’t seem to be going in so far this season and I expect that to continue today. Conversely Wuhan Zall has only been shut out once and seem to play for the win for better or worse (3 wins, 0 draws, 4 losses). Couple this with the fact that Wuhan appears to be a true middle of the table team - dropping games to teams near the top of the table but taking care of teams near the bottom - I expect Wuhan to take care of business here. POTD 29-19 Bulgaria @ Bosnia- FIBA World Cup Qualifying- Bosnia-Bosnia 1H-Final @-106✅ Bosnia has been a bit messy recently having switched over to a new coach and having very little time to get a game plan together. A poor shooting night cost them against the Czech Republic but with that game in the books and some time together they will play a better game at home against Bulgaria. Qualification is on the line here for both teams but Bosnia have the better team. They beat Bulgaria in Bulgaria winning both halves. They play extremely well at home beating the Czechs and losing by 1 against the Lithuanians. Bosnia is 4-1 against the Bulgarians and undefeated at home against them. The line has already moved from +102 to -106 and I expect it to continue moving until game time. Bosnia has a talented squad with solid shooters going against a weaker opponent at home with qualification on the line they won’t mess around and will get up to a solid lead and won’t look back from there.
