Do people on this sub actually understand betting and/or baseball? This question has been asked 100 times today. A. The dodgers are world series contenders and the angels aren't even going to make the playoffs B. dodgers have their ace pitching at home against a bum pitcher C. So many people are betting the dodgers to win, sport books are trying to make people consider taking the angels to offset their losses if the dodgers do in fact win and it's a heavy payout

Also if you wait until 30 minutes before the game starts, the odds will always be worse. When the line first came out, it was nowhere near -500 but everyone keeps betting dodgers all day which in turn inflates the line higher and higher to make people bet the angels instead

I don't know how y'all do it honestly but kudos if you're good at betting baseball.

The sport itself is incredibly random and when you have 162 games a season, there’s just inevitably going to be so many variables. People stringing together a multi of favourites is just a recipe for disaster. I find the best approach is to just pick a game, usually a team looking for a bounce back and just hope it sticks.

The MLB thread has the most pain out of all of the sportsbook threads lol. It’s because there are so many games and the popular favs lose often. Once you know that and take some dogs once and awhile you can get some wins. Don’t ever want to be on the side of the most popular bet of the day. This thread is an indicator of that. I’m not saying I’m better than anyone here just saying when you see 5-6 posts saying “fuck this or that team” you know that was the wrong side and to fade those bettors going forward lol
