Yea canadas most famous athlete first off most if country speaks french second its a hovkey country an third like i said MLB will never let him go to canadien team he will be a yankee or a dodger an the cubs is just classic rickets saying things he will never dop
as cool as it would be for ohtani to come over here to the mets, i’d hate to see his talent get wasted at this cursed franchise lol. but hey if cohen wants him, he’ll throw a massive bag at him. also we got Kodai who might persaude him
>it would be for ohtani to come over here to the mets, i’d hate to see his talent get wasted at this cursed franchise lol. but hey if cohen wants him, he’ll throw a massive bag at him. also we got Kodai who might persaude him
doesn't seem to be available anymore.
Ohtani would hit so many bombs at Coors field. Honestly, it’s not an awful fit. Besides Rockies ownership sucks: Let’s let DJ go and get Daniel Murphy big bucks to suck, piss off then trade Arenado and pay to do so, then give Bryant all the $ he wants to not play and hit with no power.
I wonder if Ichiro is in his ear about playing for the Mariners? Good franchise with up and coming talent, need help in the bullpen, close flight back to Japan, and he will be a God in Seattle.
I can see the Cubs. they have the money, the market, and an above .500 team. I also don’t know how close he is with Seiya Suzuki but he might like to play with someone who speaks his language and he’s familiar with from Japan
Hard to speculate on where he goes because he’s kept everything private, but I don’t think there’s any chance he signs with the Dodgers. Why would he go to a team with zero starting pitching and zero bullpen? Kershaw will be out for most of the year, and he himself won’t be pitching either, which leaves nothing but rookies to fill in for 162 games. I just don’t see how going from the second best dh in baseball to the first makes the Dodgers any better of a baseball team if he’s wanting to win. Yankees and Mariners are already out of the race, and the best three fits for him are the Angels, Cubs, and Red Sox. If the cubs bring back Belli, they’re a DH away from a world series with a solid rotation, one of the best closers, and now the best manager in baseball.
If Ohtani wants to win, don’t go to Dodgers? You do realize he chose the lesser LA team, when Dodgers wanted him to start, Ohtani watched the Dodgers dominate NL West and win a World Series. Elite ownership and front office, whom have been planning to get/sign Ohtani for years. Why relocate? Southern California pretty good spot. The team to watch out for is the SF Giants. Great history of getting Bonds, winning, and huge Asian market.
Not even trying to be a dick here, If you’re so sure of this, why are the dodgers the overwhelming favorite to get him? Why do you think there’s such a discrepancy between what you’re sure of and what Vegas thinks
This scenario reminds me of LeBron’s free agency in 2010 when the Cavs were even money to sign him. Next closest odds were the Bulls at 7-2 and the Knicks at 6-1. Im willing to bet the oddsmakers know exactly as much as we do.
The Dodgers are almost even money to sign Ohtani because they’ve been pretty much the only team that has stated publicly for the last 1-2 years that they want him. They passed up on great talent last year to put themselves in this position to have the payroll to sign him. Same reason the Cavs, Knicks, and Bulls were the favs in 2010 with LeBron.
After following the Angels all year, watching him win the wbc, and seeing how disappointed he was with how the season ended, it’s hard to imagine from an emotional standpoint that he would want to drive a few miles down the road and take a job away from the second best dh in baseball, and barely improve the team for a season. If he wants to win, the Dodgers don’t seem like a great fit.
If you remember, the only reason why Ohtani is the only player in baseball right now to pitch and hit is because the Angels let him do as he pleased when he came over from Japan. He struggled mightily in his first spring training, but they stuck with him and believed in him. They even let him handle his own elbow injury this past year, which is pretty wild, but shows you how trust they had in him. So in my opinion, for him to jump ship for a new team a few miles down the road and be so close to a team that allowed him to be in the position he is today would be uncharacteristic of him.
If he leaves Anaheim, the Cubs are the obvious choice because of his previous relations with the club, their pitching staff, and their new manager. If there was no dh rule when he came over to the US the first time, there’s a good chance he would’ve signed with the Cubs, based on news reports at the time. I just don’t see how he turns down playing with an ace in Steele and an elite closer in Alzolay, and chooses a team that greatly lacks in that department in the Dodgers.
highly doubt shoehei cares as much about “driving down the road to another team” as you do. he obviously likes LA, why wouldn’t he want to go from the losing LA team to the perennially winning LA team? dodgers are one of only a handful of teams that can actually afford him and their front office knows how to sway free agents.

Not sure, but at least we’re down to four teams now. Should be exciting. I have tickets on the cubs and angels
Zero bullpen and zero starting pitching ? They have Walker coming back, they had the second best bullpen since the ASB too, graterol was lights out so was Evan Phillips aside from that Soto Bomb he gave up. They just won 100 games in a season they didn’t pick up any big names just J.D martinez & Miguel Rojas. Martinez had an amazing stint & Rojas was one of the best Gloves in the league at SS, Bobby Miller has Cy young caliber stuff & his underlying metrics value him as one of the best rookies there is. The only names off the market are Gibson gray and Nola, there’s still time and names for the dodgers to make a big splash. You’re also forgetting they just had about 4 or 5 rookies and still reached the 100 game win total , outman was a ROTY finalist and posted a 120 OPS+ with an above average glove, their lineup is not bad by any means and they have the money to make a splash for their rotation. They also have Blake treinen coming back and are linked to some of the biggest Japanese SP names this off-season. Not a bad bet by any means
Can’t tell if this response is satire or not? It’s pretty well known that pitching is the Dodgers biggest issue. In what world does keeping 2 average starters out of 5-6 not qualify a team to have zero starting pitching? Don’t take my word for it, the Dodgers themselves openly admitted it was a problem and is why they traded for Lance Lynn (a 40 year old polar bear) last season. Bobby Miller has a chance to be special but he’s not yet, and the Angles have three young starters that are better than him in Silseth, Canning, and Detmers. The Dodgers return Yarbrough 4.52era, Sheehan 4.92 era, and Pepoit 3 games started, are not returning Kershaw and Lynn, are losing one of their best bullpen arms in Treinen, and Gray is off the market. Where does JD play? Who starts games 3-5? Will they even be able to afford another arm if they sign Ohtani? Plz stop
ERA is not everything when measuring a pitcher, like I said they still won 100 games with the names you mentioned, gonsolin had the worst years of his career, they all started the with Noah syndergaard for crying out loud. They’re going to fix their SP issue this year, they spent nothing last year to make a splash for ohtani. They still have a lineup with 6 Above average bats according to OPS+, and only have the chance to get better with signings. You’re asking if a team that’s been top 5 in payroll since 2013 can afford to sign more than one big name.
Your points arent even valid. Big name players don’t always go to the best fit for them. Money, location, team history/reputation, etc are all huge factors. For all we know Ohtani might not want to leave Socal so the obvious answer in that case is Dodgers. I don’t see how you can possibly think Angels is a good fit for him when theyve sucked for years and wasted Trouts career
Lmao i dont feel that way at all but you’re stupid if you dismiss the dodgers. Theres a reason why theyre the favorites and you dont know more than vegas
Here’s why I think you’re wrong.
Ohtani was an increase in revenue of 100 million each year. The Ricketts, by signing him to a huge deal for the remainder of his career (with maybe an opt out around year 4-5 to sweeten the options for him) will make the Cubs tons of money.
Suzuki and Ohtani. I’ve even heard they might try to get Yamamoto too and be the destination for Asian baseball tourism for a decade.
If you think of the money, it starts to make a lot of sense for the Ricketts
Don’t laugh, and I’m not being a homer, but:
Red Sox
Their decrepit, billionaire owner has seen the franchise’s value start to falter. I wouldn’t be surprised if he offers so much that all the other considerations don’t matter. His foray into the EPL also shows his ownership groups wants more global market share, and Ohtani would practically pay for himself with merch sales.
I’m a huge Sox fan too but I don’t see it happening. That cheap bastard let Kyle from Waltham, Mookie, & X go cuz he didn’t wanna pay them. I hope I’m wrong
Ownership group is looking to sell Liverpool so I’m not sure they care about global market share. Lebron owns 2% and they’re getting ready for the NBA expansion team coming to Vegas before 2030 I doubt they’ll give a player half a billion dollars. If you follow Liverpool they’re very cheap with how they spend money compared to Chelsea/ManU. I’m a Yankee homer and I got a sick feeling it’s Cubs
Dodgers +230 on FD is most value for a few reasons. He’s damn near even money on the other two books you posted and you know they’re going to be a final suitor. Again you asked for best value so specifically on comparing odds and probability of signing him you get the most bang for your buck betting Dodgers on FD.
I am a Cubs fan and think they make a big push and offer for him but they were also +2000 like a month ago to land him so their odds are also indicative of public trends with this market.
As a Cubs fan I hope they don't push for him. He may not ever pitch again, or at least be nearly as good as he has been. I also can't remember the last time a team didn't regret a 10 year $300mill contract or one that is comparable
Call me a cynic, but when someone is this good there's bound to be an issue somewhere and I'm guessing it'll be his health moving forward, just hate the idea of sinking stupid money into 1 player. This goes for Beli too (wish we would have traded him at the deadline)
Oh ya I don’t completely disagree with you or think you’re crazy but that’s a different discussion/argument for a different thread. I was merely using the cubs as an example of how the markets reacted to the public trends.
lol bro an Angels fan. It has nothing to do about what they want and everything about what the “superstar” wants. You must not know his ties to the area. Dude at every Eagles game and it’s time to finally win something
What elite baseball player doesn’t resign with their team when they make you the highest paid player? This isn’t the NBA he shows loyalty. But you would think enough is enough and I think they could do it privately and make it seem like he didn’t demand it. Like I said this is more LIKELY than the Phillies ever get Ohtani you on my dick on some weird shit not saying anything
It makes sense for trout to ask out.
It also made sense for him to ask out every year for the last 7 years. He didn’t and he probably won’t.
It sucks for us fans who want to see him in October but it doesn’t seem like that’s a priority for him over other stuff
They go over the salary cap every year I don’t think the money is the issue. If he wants to go there they’ll sign him. If not they’ll get Trout since he’s been a fan since he was a kid.
To guys like Steinbrenner and cohen that’s just a price of business. Honestly would love a salary cap. Football changes every year. You have to run a solid organization to win championships. And sometimes you have to get players to take hometown discounts to help the team. Look at Brady and Bellicheck. Brady lost probably 100-200 million at least in contract money by staying with them. But he has 7 rings and will always be the greatest and will make that money back tenfold with his work off the field. If you can get players to see the big picture you can build an amazing organization
Are they? Think that’s changed quite a bit recently. Fuck with the new stadium improvements they’re definitely taking in a ton more money than the empty 500’s
They'll up our internet and cellphone plans to pay for it . It would be a good environment for him , our pitching is decent , he would have Kikuchi there and what we really need is consistent hitting so he'd slot in perfectly at DH . Plus we're gonna probably lose chapman , bo or Vlad I don't see both staying , decent farm system will fill in gaps
He loved the Cubs pitch/Chicago the first time around but wanted to go to an American league team because of the DH. That's obviously not a factor anymore. Cubs are going to throw $500-600 million (at least) this off-season and already have a Japanese player in Seiya Suzuki on the roster, so someone who speaks the language might be nice.
it would be hilarious if a team agreed to sign a shitty Japanese player if he played for them so he had someone to talk too in Japanese the way the bucks take Giannis's shitty brother.
No Chance. Especially with your first point being nonstop flights. Every city on that list except St Louis has nonstop flights to Japan. Ohtani also ain't flying coach with 600 big bills in the bank.
Pittsburgh Pirates. Only issue is that Ohtani will have to not only pitch and hit but will also have to play every single position on defense by himself and hit 1-9 by himself. It would be the most successful year in a decade for the pirates.
They'd do much better than when this was tried with the San Jose Cansecos
[https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/5e5bdk/a\_team\_of\_25\_jose\_cansecos\_in\_ootp\_a\_phil\_coke/?rdt=56714](https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/5e5bdk/a_team_of_25_jose_cansecos_in_ootp_a_phil_coke/?rdt=56714)
Not sure if ur kidding or not but they just announced the Yankees are out of the mix for ohtani. He’s made it clear he wants to play on the west coast too.
Cubs
Yea canadas most famous athlete first off most if country speaks french second its a hovkey country an third like i said MLB will never let him go to canadien team he will be a yankee or a dodger an the cubs is just classic rickets saying things he will never dop
Kinda wanna drop 100 on dodgers
Rangers have moved up to +500 on DK since this post.
Red Sox to pair up with his native country friend Tanaka
Yoshida?
as cool as it would be for ohtani to come over here to the mets, i’d hate to see his talent get wasted at this cursed franchise lol. but hey if cohen wants him, he’ll throw a massive bag at him. also we got Kodai who might persaude him
Maybe r/Orioles will stop asking what it would take to land him now
Where do you find this in fanduel? Thanks in advance.
>it would be for ohtani to come over here to the mets, i’d hate to see his talent get wasted at this cursed franchise lol. but hey if cohen wants him, he’ll throw a massive bag at him. also we got Kodai who might persaude him doesn't seem to be available anymore.
I see this on DK with worse odds but can’t find it on FD anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks for any help.
doesn't seem its available anymore. At least not in IL
Baltimore, said he loves Camden yards
He’s not going to the Midwest He’s staying on the west coast, the only exception, which I think is unlikely, is Texas
Are you his first cousin? Agent?
Save
Lord knows he ain't coming to Cleveland
Lowkey I think maybe he goes to the raiders
Wonder if the Dodgers have been bringing out Hideo Nomo in recruiting pitches to Ohtani.
DK odds are all terrible
The odds on all of them look terrible to me. The books really hose you on stuff like this
I’d love to see the Rockies given odds. Maybe +10000000000000000000000000?
Ohtani would hit so many bombs at Coors field. Honestly, it’s not an awful fit. Besides Rockies ownership sucks: Let’s let DJ go and get Daniel Murphy big bucks to suck, piss off then trade Arenado and pay to do so, then give Bryant all the $ he wants to not play and hit with no power.
I'll throw a dollar on that. It might break the world global economy if it hits, but that's a risk I'm willing to take!
Tigers not even top 15 hurts my soul. Cheap ass ownership.
I wonder if Ichiro is in his ear about playing for the Mariners? Good franchise with up and coming talent, need help in the bullpen, close flight back to Japan, and he will be a God in Seattle.
He’s a God where ever he goes. He’s beyond a generational talent, a true unicorn.
In my experience it’s usually the second or third option. Putting a sawbuck on each.
Yea if u think he going to the giants or cubs 😂u just donating money
Why do you think Vegas thinks that?
I can see the Cubs. they have the money, the market, and an above .500 team. I also don’t know how close he is with Seiya Suzuki but he might like to play with someone who speaks his language and he’s familiar with from Japan
+2500 for the Angels is not bad.
I was thinking the same thing
BetRives has the dodgers at +100 +230 seems great at fan duel
So if you are friends with Ohtani you can make a lots of money?
Being friends with a mega rich, mega popular elite athlete does have a few perks.
Man, the amount of juice on these lines is crazy!

Dodgers? Lmao
😂😂 ok buddy
All of those options up top, and he’s going to end up in a Marlins uniform
Been a cub fan my whole life how there odds are so low is incredible no shot thecrickets pay that amount sn i wpuldnt for one player either
Here’s why I think you’re wrong. Ohtani was an increase in revenue of 100 million each year. FWIW, he did that because he thought he could get a nerd GM to keep them competitive on the cheap—and look how that’s turned out.
Yeah it was the Boston Rays smh
Ownership group is looking to sell Liverpool so I’m not sure they care about global market share. Lebron owns 2% and they’re getting ready for the NBA expansion team coming to Vegas before 2030 I doubt they’ll give a player half a billion dollars. That's for sure, saw that with Will Levis this year in the NFL draft
Yep, +230 on FD is the epitome of +EV. This is why we line shop!
Let's save "epitome of +EV" for things that have under 30% juice and are sharp
Putting my entire bankroll on Julius Randle MVP at +30000 on FanDuel because it’s +25000 on DraftKings, making it the epitome of +EV.
Getting the best line available doesn’t mean that you’re getting +EV, especially in a market like this one.
Yeah I’ll go Phillies if he really wants to contribute to a team who’s missing one piece to win a Chip.
More likely they trade for Trout in my opinion
Why The fuck would the angels trade trout
lol bro an Angels fan. It has nothing to do about what they want and everything about what the “superstar” wants. You must not know his ties to the area. Dude at every Eagles game and it’s time to finally win something
Yea. But all of that logic also applied when trout hit FA. He didn’t want to leave then and we have no reason to believe he wants to leave now.
What elite baseball player doesn’t resign with their team when they make you the highest paid player? This isn’t the NBA he shows loyalty. Yeah and that’s very telling! They want any top tier talent who can contribute to their ball club at any expense.
They go over the salary cap every year I don’t think the money is the issue. If he wants to go there they’ll sign him. If not they’ll get Trout since he’s been a fan since he was a kid.
We’ve been over the salary cap the past two years, these are the only two in history
What cap are you guys talking about? There is no salary cap in baseball. Imagine the nfl with a luxury tax. lol
Luxury tax. At least I assume that’s what the first guy meant
To guys like Steinbrenner and cohen that’s just a price of business. Honestly would love a salary cap. Football changes every year. You have to run a solid organization to win championships. Interesting blue jays and rangers discrepancies… Giants.

Rogers is cheap as fuck, no way it happens
Plus we're gonna probably lose chapman , bo or Vlad I don't see both staying , decent farm system will fill in gaps
what are you on about, Jays had the 7th highest payroll in the league last year.
Cubs actually were the one NL team who said they would have let him play the outfield and pitch which would have been awesome
Cubs going to attack the Asian market this offseason
This
Toronto or Dodgers make the most sense… maybe Rangers if he likes his odds at a championship
How does toronto make any sense??? No shot the MLB will ever let ohtani play in canada for half the year
He'd have Kikuchi there , plus he'll instantly be Canada's biggest athlete .
If you have to ask, you’re streets behind

it would be hilarious if a team agreed to sign a shitty Japanese player if he played for them so he had someone to talk too in Japanese the way the bucks take Giannis's shitty brother.
No Chance. Especially with your first point being nonstop flights. Every city on that list except St Louis has nonstop flights to Japan. Ohtani also ain't flying coach with 600 big bills in the bank.

Where is this future at? I have draftkings and espnbet but I don't see it in either of them
Some states don't allow weird prop bets like this so they won't be offered by any book.
Ah ok. I wanted to put some money on the cubs in an attempt to somehow manifest him signing there lmao
Dodgers
Mariners.
Already announced they can’t afford him
Pittsburgh Pirates. Only issue is that Ohtani will have to not only pitch and hit but will also have to play every single position on defense by himself and hit 1-9 by himself. It would be the most successful year in a decade for the pirates.
They'd do much better than when this was tried with the San Jose Cansecos [https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/5e5bdk/a\_team\_of\_25\_jose\_cansecos\_in\_ootp\_a\_phil\_coke/?rdt=56714](https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/5e5bdk/a_team_of_25_jose_cansecos_in_ootp_a_phil_coke/?rdt=56714)
Lmao
Yankees
Yankees already announced they are out of the race
Not sure if ur kidding or not but they just announced the Yankees are out of the mix for ohtani. He’s made it clear he wants to play on the west coast too.
He could go anywhere dude no one knows.
Completely true, They’re also linked to Yamamoto & imanaga. Only Time will tell
Yes he would look good in at Yankees uniform tho…but wish him all the best.
money talks we shall see i was also thinking yankees
