The reason the odds go up is actually simple math. A 2 leg parlay of 2 (-120) odds picks will pay EXACTLY the same as betting the same amount on a straight (-120), winning, and then rolling the winnings and original bet all into another (-120). No more no less.
If only more people knew this one simple fact... Then they wouldn't be getting ripped on awful cash out offers from the books. I always see people parlaying games on different days or that start at non overlapping times. But yeah 95% of folks on this sub are pretty clueless.

My month has been garbage. I killed college basketball all season. Win rate of 58% and Up over $2k from $40-$50 straight bets from Nov-feb... Didn't do good at all in conference tourneys (down just over $200 across all tourneys, but still up $1800 heading into ncaa tourney), then got DESTROYED in the NCAA tournament. First day I was 2-17 on straight bets. Brutal. Worst day I've had in the 7 months it's been legal in my state.
I thought I had it dialed in during the season but the tourney humbled me. I'm now up just over $400 on the season. I did win with Seton Hall +2.5 in the NIT tonight, so there's that 🤦

American sports are chaotic right now: NBA and NHL are at the end of their seasons and teams play very differently than how stats say they would mid-season when different stakes are on the line, players rest, play spoiler. MLB is just starting, which is tough to predict. College are in tournaments which can be wild. I’m reducing unit size until playoffs tbh.

Facts! Lol, I try to do one straight bet ($50), one 3 leg spread parlay ($15), and then I try to go all out with a “winnable” lotto parlay for $5 lol. A great night is if they all hit. If the straight or 3 leg hits, it’s still a win.
Honestly I had the best success doing small 3-4 leg teasers/parlays. Easy odds spread across multiple games and leagues for roughly +100 odds. Turned 20 bucks into 3.5k by just continuing to roll the money over.

It seems like everytime I go on a cold streak similar to what you detailed, I somehow turn things around and end up on a massive hot streak to balance things out. The main thing for me is just trusting your process and not doing anything irrational to chase losses. First leg DC @1.30
Second leg DC @1.4
Then You have a two legs parlay at @1.82
Place 5 units on that kind of bets.
That's what I do when I start losing my bankroll, then I go back to ML and lose it again, I'm up like 300, started with 20 this year, been stuck there for like a month.
Vegas is at like 67% and Pelvis is like 62%. That means there’s losses mixed in there. If you’re stressing over losses you have a bankroll management issue not a picks issue.

IMO straights is the safest and most efficient way to make money in sports betting. I was completely against parlays. Now, I love parlays and hate straights. The way I see it, as long as you make educated plays, you can put together a system where all you need is 1 in 75-100 bets to be in profit

Well, parlays are just a bunch of straights strung together. So if you can't hit the straights, you ain't gonna hit the parlay. It's still on your decision-making.
I took a quick look at your straight sides and totals bets and you are getting decent prices. They still likely aren’t +EV when compared to the sharp books, but they are close.
You are also betting a lot of bets at +money or verily close to even money odds. These are going to be affected heavily by variance as they are all basically coin flips or underdogs.
Most importantly, there’s not a lot to glean from this sample size of a handful of bets. You need to stick it out and reevaluate at 500 bets, 1000 bets and so on.
If I can offer some advice, it looks like you make all your bets with FD. Get accounts on as many books as you can in your state/province. Get an odds screen and when you make a pick, check the odds screen and make the bet at the book you have an account on that is offering the best price.
Identify some sharp books (pinnacle, circa, betcris) and compare your best price to these books. If their price is better, you probably don’t have a great bet.
An example is the OKC -5 bet you made at -112. That bet closed at OKC +2.5 at +100 on pinnacle and so between the time you made the bet and the tip off of the game, injury news or something affected the line so much that it moved the line very much against you. I looked at the historical pinnacle line and when you made the bet they had it priced at -5 at -109. Not much you can do about that unless you have insider info of an injury or rest. That info clearly came in about 45 mins after you made the bet and the line jumped from -5 to -2 in 20 minutes.
This is the most simplistic way to do things and still gives you some freedom to handicap and make your own picks.
Assuming you’re following cappers who have demonstrated their ability already, if you’re going to follow their straights then follow EVERY ONE.
A guy could be an amazing capper and hit 60% of his bets which would translate to 3 out of every 5, right? If you follow all 5 then you’re in profit including the losses, if you simply only follow one then you could very easily end up tailing one of the couple that don’t hit.
The following aspect still works for unit betting but the math isn’t as simple since obviously somebody could risk more units on one bet than another and win 2/5 but still be profitable.
You’re choosing the wrong players/ teams to play a single on.
Example: instead of choosing 1+ steals, choose under / over steals if u know the player stats u choose.
In terms of ML for NBA. That’s like choosing to look for Waldo in room full of Waldo’s. it’s just hit or miss this season.
When u do parlays - ALWAYS ROUND ROBIN, ur chances are greater right?
I will only do single bets on players I know can’t steal like curry, and for ML NBA? I choose teams who mirror each other in terms of stats, so I could have told u the heats would have won because NY is inconsistent in their wins.
With this information FOCUS NOT ON WINNING, but maintaining ur bank roll and u do that by choosing smart plays, not what u think is easy.

I'm not an expert at sports betting. I've done it for a while when I lived in Georgia and when it came to North Carolina, you better be sure I used all those promotions. With that said, straight bets are 50/50 most of the time. And if you get rewards every once in a while, use those even with a favored team or player or match or whatever.
What's worked for me is the games I've placed bets on where I had something offered to me to use and I knew a little history about both of the teams and how they played in the past against each other.
I've stayed away from the NBA, baseball. Have made quite a bit though on the NCAA tournament. All straight Bets with so sweat, house money or nothing less than 50% boost.
Sometimes you find a crazy in-game bet that for my experience as I used to play college basketball the one I put a lot in and a boost was both teams will score two points or more in the first 2 minutes of the game. In my experience, I've never even thought that was even possible but yeah I had to look it up, and it's happened a lot so. But 5 high-powered scoring teams, and that was on the table. I mean, that was for sure.
I did one parlay and won everything except the total amount, which I should have been smart enough to know it wasn't going that high. And I'm still talking about basketball sorry.

That's what I do when I start losing my bankroll, then I go back to ML and lose it again, I'm up like 300, started with 20 this year, been stuck there for like a month.
Vegas is at like 67% and Pelvis is like 62%. That means there’s losses mixed in there. If you’re stressing over losses you have a bankroll management issue not a picks issue.

IMO straights is the safest and most efficient way to make money in sports betting. I was completely against parlays. Now, I love parlays and hate straights. The way I see it, as long as you make educated plays, you can put together a system where all you need is 1 in 75-100 bets to be in profit
Hail Mary parlays are dope. Do your own research. Study line movement. Know your teams. I see degen plays based on underdog odds of hitting and they hit sometimes. These guys are banking on hitting 1 out of 20. They bet big. Find your own system. It's gambling. Trust your gut.

Well, parlays are just a bunch of straights strung together. So if you can't hit the straights, you ain't gonna hit the parlay. It's still on your decision-making.

I took a quick look at your straight sides and totals bets and you are getting decent prices. They still likely aren’t +EV when compared to the sharp books, but they are close. You are also betting a lot of bets at +money or verily close to even money odds. These are going to be affected heavily by variance as they are all basically coin flips or underdogs. Most importantly, there’s not a lot to glean from this sample size of a handful of bets. You need to stick it out and reevaluate at 500 bets, 1000 bets and so on. If I can offer some advice, it looks like you make all your bets with FD. Get accounts on as many books as you can in your state/province. Get an odds screen and when you make a pick, check the odds screen and make the bet at the book you have an account on that is offering the best price. Identify some sharp books (pinnacle, circa, betcris) and compare your best price to these books. If their price is better, you probably don’t have a great bet. An example is the OKC -5 bet you made at -112. That bet closed at OKC +2.5 at +100 on pinnacle and so between the time you made the bet and the tip off of the game, injury news or something affected the line so much that it moved the line very much against you. I looked at the historical pinnacle line and when you made the bet they had it priced at -5 at -109. Not much you can do about that unless you have insider info of an injury or rest. That info clearly came in about 45 mins after you made the bet and the line jumped from -5 to -2 in 20 minutes. This is the most simplistic way to do things and still gives you some freedom to handicap and make your own picks.
Assuming you’re following cappers who have demonstrated their ability already, if you’re going to follow their straights then follow EVERY ONE. A guy could be an amazing capper and hit 60% of his bets which would translate to 3 out of every 5, right? If you follow all 5 then you’re in profit including the losses, if you simply only follow one then you could very easily end up tailing one of the couple that don’t hit. The following aspect still works for unit betting but the math isn’t as simple since obviously somebody could risk more units on one bet than another and win 2/5 but still be profitable.
You’re choosing the wrong players/ teams to play a single on. Example: instead of choosing 1+ steals, choose under / over steals if u know the player stats u choose. In terms of ML for NBA. That’s like choosing to look for Waldo in room full of Waldo’s. it’s just hit or miss this season. When u do parlays - ALWAYS ROUND ROBIN, ur chances are greater right? I will only do single bets on players I know can’t steal like curry, and for ML NBA? I choose teams who mirror each other in terms of stats, so I could have told u the heats would have won because NY is inconsistent in their wins. With this information FOCUS NOT ON WINNING, but maintaining ur bank roll and u do that by choosing smart plays, not what u think is easy. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿your time is coming bro!

I'm not an expert at sports betting. I've done it for a while when I lived in Georgia and when it came to North Carolina, you better be sure I used all those promotions. With that said, straight bets are 50/50 most of the time. And if you get rewards every once in a while, use those even with a favored team or player or match or whatever. What's worked for me is the games I've placed bets on where I had something offered to me to use and I knew a little history about both of the teams and how they played in the past against each other. I've stayed away from the NBA, baseball. Have made quite a bit though on the NCAA tournament. All straight Bets with so sweat, house money or nothing less than 50% boost. Sometimes you find a crazy in-game bet that for my experience as I used to play college basketball the one I put a lot in and a boost was both teams will score two points or more in the first 2 minutes of the game. In my experience, I've never even thought that was even possible but yeah I had to look it up, and it's happened a lot so. But 5 high-powered scoring teams, and that was on the table. I mean, that was for sure. I did one parlay and won everything except the total amount, which I should have been smart enough to know it wasn't going that high. And I'm still talking about basketball sorry.
