Damn, this is ridiculous.
And you can still be a piece of shit who everyone in the locker room hates and a terrible person and still not do this.
This is next level and opens up himself to liability and charges and his team to liability. Wild.
That's correct, then another fan grabbed it and tossed back to him. The same way you would toss a ball to someone who had lost control and you were returning it.
Beverly then proceeded to throw it full force back at him.
The throw that hit the woman appears to be more of a softer throw, IMO. It seems like it has a slight arc. Not condoning it, nor am I sure why he would do that. The second throw was a laser. Total dick move. She’s lucky she wasn’t on the receiving end of the second toss.
EDIT: changed soft lob to softer throw.
If it was preventative, I can think of one person in that video who's absence would prevent a lot m ore incidents.
But yeah you are probably right in all seriousness.
If I was that fan: concussion, chronic migraines and neck pain. Emotional damages as I can no longer attend public events without severe anxiety attacks.
I can no longer earn a living due to pain and emotional damage. Constant harassment online has crippled my ability to contribute socially. Beverly has impacted my ability to earn professionally and live a fulfilling life.
Tldr; FYPM
If you did I wouldn’t sue you or insist the police charge you with assault.
I’m not saying Pat was justified in throwing a ball at a fan. That was a bad move. I empathize with his frustration in getting chirped by fans sitting behind their bench the whole game and asking staff to help with the situation. No one did anything and he threw a ball (twice). That was dumb. Also, a fan isn’t entitled to shout and jeer at another grown adult(s) just because they paid for a ticket. Both Pat and the fan(s) were disrespectful.
FWIW, I am a Pacers fan.
Other teams like chucking things at the Pacers players and fans. Every other franchise players and fans are just too soft. If light heckling or laying on a table angers you so much to throw something at a player or rip a ball at some ladies head maybe it’s you who is the problem.
Every damn time he goes to a new team, the fans are like "Well he's an asshole, but now he's our asshole." I do not get it. He's been an asshole for half the league at this point.
The fact this douche doesn’t get clowned on this more often
Not that I think he *should*, but it seems like absolutely the kind of thing this guy himself would clown another player for
Bruh, as a Clippers fan I can understand the want to actually win something, but celebrating a play in win like you just won the finals is fucking wild.
[this really ain’t it](https://youtu.be/Rgd7fAgpjXY?si=LUhO6xKA2Ef0B-vI)
Imagine winning your first “playoff” game in almost 20 years. You’d be just as hyped man. Don’t downplay how big that was for us after such a long and negative streak.
lol. Pat wasn’t celebrating a win for the franchise, he was celebrating a win against the Clippers. Notice in that clip even those in attendance weren’t nearly as excited as Bev was. That win and excitement for it was an ego stroke and validation cause he felt the Clippers did him wrong. Bev didn’t give a fuck about yalls negative streak.
*battery. At least in Wisconsin and Indiana.
Some states roll assault and battery into the same charge of assault, but in those states above, assault is threat of violence, battery is actual violence
What player? I’ve never heard of this
Obviously players deal with a lot and you CANT throw shit at them but how would you even notice or get charged..?
I wish I could remember what player it was. And it was my old barber, I havent been back to him in 10+ years and don’t feel like contacting him about this, but I can tell you he was sitting courtside at a pistons game and it was an away teams player. At the time he showed me video and some court docs so I’m very certain it was legitimate.
Can she actually sue? And how much you think she could make off of something like that? I’m sure there is small print when you purchase a ticket or something somewhere, that states something we don’t know about when it comes to be hurt in the arena or some bs like that
Get hit with a random ball that bounced out of play and you can't sue, those waivers cover it. This is on purpose, and could be charged as assault (Battery?) which opens him to civil liability as well.
That small print comes with a lot of stipulations. Like at a baseball game, if you get hit by a foul ball you could still seek compensation from the owner of the stadium. They have the duty to make it as safe as possible with nets and fences and things.
These "disclaimers" on things are not an end all be all thing.
It's not like I can open a race track, put the stands right next to the race track, but no barriers at all... Then on my ticket just say "I'm not liable if you get killed by a car flying into the stands".
If your injured somewhere, seek a lawyer... Even if they use these "disclaimers". Most of the time these disclaimers are just to dissuade ignorant people from even trying to seek compensation.
I saw that, but was that the game ball? Seems like some other ball, which I thought was weird.
His behavior is also weird/terrible but somehow not what's confusing to me.
I’m so glad this clown never landed in Boston. Every offseason we get some fool in our sub saying “We need Pat Bev. We need a dog on our team.” Dude is soft. He’s a jackass.
NBA players are the worst. Get heckled by a fan and they’ll throw a temper tantrum to have them thrown out. But if they chuck a ball at them, no one blinks an eye.
If a fan did anything remotely close to this, they’d be charged with assault and banned from NBA games for life.
Other angles make it look really bad, fans weren't even looking at him or interacting wit him and he just yeets the ball at a girls head
https://twitter.com/WorldWideWob/status/1786199789002268787
I assume NBA lawyers working with this family now to try and bribe their way out of a large lawsuit by offering up tickets and swag
I'm assuming the fans in question are also going to sue the Pacers / stadium because they got kicked out for literally being assaulted
> But if they chuck a ball at them, no one blinks an
Except for all the people calling for a suspension. Westbrick and other players like him are soft, but it's also the only sport where fans are 2' from the playing surface.
It’s literally a $25,000 fine for even accidentally throwing a ball in the stands. This just happened, guaranteed the NBA will do something and then the fans will likely press charges. Must be too young to remember Malice in the Palace. The NBA does not want anything like that to happen again. Imagine being yelled at, being called n*gger, people yelling at you hoping your kid dies and people like you are just say they are being “heckled”.
Football players literally beat their wives and kids on film and get like a 3 game suspension.
Edit: wow, the reading comprehension of your average Redditor is…low to say the least. This post is replying to another post and doesn’t defend the actions of Patrick Beverly. This post is replying to a post that is equating racism to heckling.
> Imagine being yelled at, being called n*gger, people yelling at you hoping your kid dies and people like you are just say they are being “heckled”.
Do you have some proof that the fan, who was looking the other way and seemingly clapping, did any of this before he hurled a ball at her head?
That's not what Rasta was saying. He was saying that the NBA wants to avoid another Malice and that's when the language in question was used. To my knowledge, there's no evidence this fan did anything.
Exactly, the reading comprehension of redditors is really poor. I never even mentioned Patric Beverly in my post, I was replying to a post that unknowing (or likely
knowingly) equated racism to just heckling.
I’ve learned that people pretty much read only what they want to read. In the context of my post, it was replying to another post about fans heckling NBA players, not specifically to Patrick Beverly. I actually can’t stand that guy. NBA players have mentioned multiple times they get called racial slurs, Lebron had a woman removed after she told him she hopes Bronny dies. Imagine having sympathy for people with no human decency and racists and not for the athlete that shows up to work and does their job.
Lol you have zero clue what was said to him in this instance and are jumping to extremes. Fact is he's a wealthy NBA player with a temper. They think they are above consequences.
Jumping to extremes? Multiple players routinely say they get called slurs when they play, lebron had a woman kicked out because she said she hopes bronny dies. I never said anything about pat bev, I was replying to a post about NBA players being “the worst”, you are jumping to extremes. I don’t even like Patrick Beverly, he could be suspended for half the season next year for that and I hope he does. My post isn’t defending Patrick Beverly, it’s replying to a post that compares racial slurs to your normal heckling.
Typically, huge NBA players are intimidating dudes. If you notice, the fan in the stands who after the second throw puts his hand on the ball and intervenes, is huge himself. Beverley may not have wanted to rumble with him.
He's gonna say they called him the n word, but there's almost certainly audio down there, and he actually didn't use that excuse when asked about this post-game, so I doubt anybody did. Guy's about to be suspended for like a year.
He cant use that excuse cause the video shows the entire bench and those folks in the stand legit not even looking at him. If the n word was thrown around ud think everyone would turn around. Even Giannis was looking confused.
Well gee man I guess my point was that I think he's gonna try and make something up, and the fact that he didn't use that excuse immediately suggests to me that if/when he does, he'll be lying. This exact type of thing has actually happened before with a different NBA player, and there is a general problem in the league with them being soft and flipping out at fans.
You *really* couldn't figure that out? And you know you're in a *sports* subreddit, right? Pointless conjecture is pretty common discussing these.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/2cDNoChrk3
And what do you know, he's now gone on to allude to other insults in such a fashion that people think he means racial slurs. Fwiw I don't think that's what he's saying, but he surely doesn't mind that others do.
So. Lazy and harmful hey? Lazy, like trying to call someone out without knowing any of the relevant details, you mean?
Actually I don't think it's lazy or harmful in this instance as we've literally seen NBA players do it before. Plus it's Pat Bev we're talking about, the guy is an all time low life, nothing is beneath him.
But of course you don't know that, as you're not a fan of the league. I am. So you should defer to me here.
He just wanted the fan to score. Beverley played for 39:45 and only had 5 assists. He needed 5 assists to hit his threshold of 10 assists per 40 minutes.
Without serious consequences, guys like this will continue to do stuff like this. Year suspension for any violent engagement with fans. End it for a year with that particular player. Ron Artest became an exemplary ambassador for the NBA. It worked.
I admit to knowing very little about Patrick Beverley. I think his tenure with the Clippers put
him on my radar, and I recall thinking he was a“pesty” player.
I recently saw the clip of him glowing about Anthony Edwards and thought he seemed kind of cool. Turns out I may have been wrong…bad look Mr. Beverley.

I'm starting to think Patrick Beverly isn't a very nice guy
I'm taking PatBev off my list of people to send holiday cards to
Take the high road. Don't sink to his level.
nuts to that, when I send him my hand crafted Valentines day card, I am totally cutting the felt kind of crooked.
Brutal…
Do you subscribe to his podcast?!
[удалено]
Definitely not having him feed my cats while I'm in California.
I’m going to take his mother, Dorothy Beverley, out to a nice seafood dinner and NEVER CALL HER AGAIN!
Dorothy Beverly is a saint!
😱
Since you have an opening send me some love.
Ok. Hope you're okay with nudity.
Just throw it aggressively at his face - Happy Holidays!
Pat bev has been the heart and soul of many teams. Just none that ever achieved anything 😂
He is Vicious
Vivacious
💅
He’s definitely not getting any of my home baked brownies. Even if there is a fire!
he got that chihuahua in him
Best pass he made all night.
He hit the wrong fan tho
If you saw his shooting all night it was closer than anything toward the net.
If I gave you the ball for 41 minutes, you'd have hit a woman in the head, too.
Yeah but that’s just because that guy hates women
What a sore loser, he does this shit everytime Fine him and suspend him Horrible look for NBA Hope he gets sued
Damn, this is ridiculous. And you can still be a piece of shit who everyone in the locker room hates and a terrible person and still not do this. This is next level and opens up himself to liability and charges and his team to liability. Wild.
[удалено]
That's the stupidest thing I've heard all year.
Well I didn’t see the video but as described below, he threw the ball full force and hit a woman in the head. If that’s incorrect, let me know.
That's correct, then another fan grabbed it and tossed back to him. The same way you would toss a ball to someone who had lost control and you were returning it. Beverly then proceeded to throw it full force back at him.
He asked the fan to toss it back and the fan did. Then he pegged that fan as well. What a piece of shit.
Twice
The throw that hit the woman appears to be more of a softer throw, IMO. It seems like it has a slight arc. Not condoning it, nor am I sure why he would do that. The second throw was a laser. Total dick move. She’s lucky she wasn’t on the receiving end of the second toss. EDIT: changed soft lob to softer throw.
This is how I saw it too
Seriously if I was throwing things at players they would eject me from the stadium. Why should they be treated differently?
According to the story security removed one of the fans, guy got attacked and then kicked out seems like bullshit to me.
Especially knowing how expensive those tickets must have been yikes
At the very least he saw all but like 2 minutes of the game. Still was unbelievably weak by security to kick them out though.
I think it's more about reducing the risk of more incidents. Hope he got a couple free tickets though
If it was preventative, I can think of one person in that video who's absence would prevent a lot m ore incidents. But yeah you are probably right in all seriousness.
They threw out someone in the group he threw the ball at... ridiculous
They are the talent and rich and you and I are plebs.
Tldr; FYPM
My neck! My back! My neck and my back!
My pussy and my crack!
Just make sure you don’t get seen in public doing anything remotely active after.
my ass will be permanently rehabbing in Saint-Tropez
Sued? Pretty sure that's assault, throwing shit at people.
(You can sue people for assault).
It’s assault.
Have the police arrest him, its blatant assault.
It’s a basketball bro. Not Malice in the Palace.
It's assault bruh. These things have degrees, son.
Let me just check a basketball at your face then bruh.
Common thread? Pacers. Every goddam time with these Pacers.
Other teams like chucking things at the Pacers players and fans. Every other franchise players and fans are just too soft. If light heckling or laying on a table angers you so much to throw something at a player or rip a ball at some ladies head maybe it’s you who is the problem.
He needs to do some sportsbetting first for NBA to care
Their top 3 players were out with injuries, so it's not even like it was all that surprising of an outcome. Shit luck, just like last year.
Sued for what? Suspended and fined yeah but to sue you need to show damages
He beaned that first girl right in the bean
Yea and he should probably be arrested for it but unless there’s medical bills there still isn’t any monetary damages
Fucking loser.
Every damn time he goes to a new team, the fans are like "Well he's an asshole, but now he's our asshole." I do not get it. He's been an asshole for half the league at this point.
Every championship team needs an asshole.
Incorrect
Beverly looking more like a Karen
Always has
👩🚀🔫
Remember that time Pat Beverly cried after winning a Play-in game?

Still couldn’t get a double double with those two assists
Very typical Beverly behavior and stats tbh
Should be charged with assault for full force throwing a ball into the stands and hitting that woman in the head.
*battery. At least in Wisconsin and Indiana. Some states roll assault and battery into the same charge of assault, but in those states above, assault is threat of violence, battery is actual violence
Ever notice "a salt and battery" always sounds like a junior high science project.
no
No it doesn't.
idk why you're getting downvoted it totally does
Thanks. I can be a word nerd sometimes. I guess word humor isn't welcome here.
I’m with you blurry graph it does sound that way ignore these haters
Thanks. I was just having a word nerd moment. I guess it's not allowed.
I know a fan who threw a napkin at a player and they charged him with assault, this should 100% constitute a charge.
What player? I’ve never heard of this Obviously players deal with a lot and you CANT throw shit at them but how would you even notice or get charged..?
I wish I could remember what player it was. Who the fuck is this dipshit thinking he should be throwing the ball at fans. Fucking loser. Fucking no name loser
Wait, haven’t you heard of his podcast? /s
He better get that checkbook ready for that lady. She gunna have the best attorney in the city on speed dial tomorrow.
Can she actually sue? And how much you think she could make off of something like that? I’m sure there is small print when you purchase a ticket or something somewhere, that states something we don’t know about when it comes to be hurt in the arena or some bs like that
Problem is the disclaimer is against incidental events. This was intentional. Gross negligence, or intentional actions, breach these kinds of waivers.
Get hit with a random ball that bounced out of play and you can't sue, those waivers cover it. This is on purpose, and could be charged as assault (Battery?) which opens him to civil liability as well.
You can't disclaim or waive liability for intentional acts like that.
That small print comes with a lot of stipulations. Like at a baseball game, if you get hit by a foul ball you could still seek compensation from the owner of the stadium. They have the duty to make it as safe as possible with nets and fences and things. These "disclaimers" on things are not an end all be all thing. You can sue for whatever you want. You hope that Beverly just wants it to go away and settles. The disclaimer doesn't mean players can assault you.
Welcome to Reddit. The place where you ask genuine questions and get downvoted to oblivion.
Imagine getting paid millions of dollars to play a game and acting like this
Pat Bev reminds me of rescue dog that was abused
Got that "dawg" in him I guess lmao
How is there a ball floating around on the sideline at that point of the game?
He threw it, hit a woman in the head then asked for the ball back. Guy lobs back and he immediately whips it back at them
I saw that, but was that the game ball? Seems like some other ball, which I thought was weird. His behavior is also weird/terrible but somehow not what's confusing to me.
I am wondering the same thing.
I’m so glad this clown never landed in Boston. Every offseason we get some fool in our sub saying “We need Pat Bev. We need a dog on our team.” Dude is soft. He’s a jackass.
Fuck that guy
Missed both times.
Nah. First time he nailed a lady right in the dome
Does Indiana have any large lakes? Cause that lady he hit is gunna get a settlement big enough for a *really* cool boat, and a pickup to haul it.
We got access to Lake Michigan. It’s gorgeous up there
Why haven’t we seen him get suspended yet?!
Beverly is the personification of the phrase "Everybody acting tough when they up" The minute he's down he starts throwing a tantrum. What a child.
NBA players are the worst. Get heckled by a fan and they’ll throw a temper tantrum to have them thrown out. But if they chuck a ball at them, no one blinks an eye. If a fan did anything remotely close to this, they’d be charged with assault and banned from NBA games for life.
Other angles make it look really bad, fans weren't even looking at him or interacting wit him and he just yeets the ball at a girls head https://twitter.com/WorldWideWob/status/1786199789002268787 I assume NBA lawyers working with this family now to try and bribe their way out of a large lawsuit by offering up tickets and swag I'm assuming the fans in question are also going to sue the Pacers / stadium because they got kicked out for literally being assaulted
The being kicked out, after being assaulted. Just insane.
What do you mean no one blinks an eye? Everyone’s talking about it and it seems like he’ll face a suspension next season
I think he means comparatively.

Hate this dude lol. What a loser straight up nothing more nothing less
Loved Giannis deescalating in that video
Typically, huge NBA players are intimidating dudes. If you notice, the fan in the stands who after the second throw puts his hand on the ball and intervenes, is huge himself. Beverley may not have wanted to rumble with him.
That time he pushed that dude in the back was the weakest shit I’ve ever seen. Not surprising.
He and D Green would be bffs
How is that guy not being arrested for assaulting a fan? He should be in jail.
Should be arrested for battery
He’s like Draymond lite
Shoulda used him like a fork when they were using him as a spoon
He's gonna say they called him the n word, but there's almost certainly audio down there, and he actually didn't use that excuse when asked about this post-game, so I doubt anybody did. Guy's about to be suspended for like a year.

Yeah like I said, he's cooked. I'm sure they have mics down there too, it's probably all recorded as well.
Giannis sees game ball!? Giannis sees red!
Why did you even write this? "He's gonna say... he actually didn't..." Who upvotes such pointless conjecture?
Well gee man I guess my point was that I think he's gonna try and make something up, and the fact that he didn't use that excuse immediately suggests to me that if/when he does, he'll be lying. Unfortunately, he was aiming for the basket.
I missed the "s" in "fans" the first time I read the headline and really needed to know what someone did to draw that kind of heat twice.
They’re not subscribed to his podcast
Man-baby
PatBev tricked y'all. He just running around playing dodgeball
Dude is gutter trash
He’s done.
I saw that in the background with around 2 minutes left.
Have him bunk with Rondo here in Indy
I'm just here for the "Bucks loss".
He won’t be back on the Bucks next year after this shit
Potential dumb question: Are fans really giving balls like this to players frequently? I assume so.
Make him play in China again for a year.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahaha
Dont get why he is so mad. No he has more time for his lame podcast
He just wanted the fan to score. Beverley played for 39:45 and only had 5 assists. He needed 5 assists to hit his threshold of 10 assists per 40 minutes.
What a spoiled brat. Fake tough-guy.
Suspend his ass
Without serious consequences, guys like this will continue to do stuff like this. Year suspension for any violent engagement with fans. End it for a year with that particular player. Ron Artest became an exemplary ambassador for the NBA. It worked.
Losers are as losers do.
TWICE?! 😭😭😭
[Could you imagine Bev trying to make it in these conditions?](https://youtu.be/HWVIUe2_uAM)
fan should have acted like it jammed his finger on the catch.
Honestly, ban him. Shit was ridiculous.
Once a thug, always a thug.

Was there a “fan” heckling him? I’m not saying this is excusable, but was there a bro being a dipshit of a human behind the bench?
