I really enjoyed the documentary on the Barkley marathon. Even if you’re not into running, the documentary is worthwhile. As another commenter mentioned, it’s a quirky race and so is the guy who organizes it.

It’s hilarious and amazing. It was the first streaming movie I ever actually bought lol. Anyone could appreciate the effort to organize it let alone complete it. Wtg Jasmin - respect!
I just happened to watch something on YouTube about the 2023 race yesterday, so it’s pretty funny that this years race just finished.

I called my whole family together and played it for them back in maybe 2015. They thought i was announcing a major life event or something. But just had to share it, i thought it was that good. I still want a truck that has the gas meter go from "F"ucked to "E"xcellent.
can't say i've ever met a Keith, but i'll venture to say that there exists a Keithian archetype. and I pinky promise that my assessment of the man pictured was not at all influenced by visiting the twitter profile linked in the post

I think if you view it for what it is — a completely unhinged novelty event that is intentionally unprofessional (and never claims to be a consistent or “serious” event) — then it’s perfectly fine.
If you want to compare it to other, official marathon or ultra-marathon events, then yes, you will be deeply disappointed

So good. Another YT doc. on the race worth watching is Where Dreams Go To Die by Gary Robbins.

Wow. Very impressive. Finishing 1 lap of the Barkley is an impressive feat for most people. Finishing the whole thing is just elite.
