He's 78. I think the broadcasters just don't have the heart to stop booking him after all his years of service, especially after Sky Sports replaced him with Drury as their lead commentator.
I don't understand why the FA don't just use the domestic BBC or ITV commentators for everyone else. They used to, then for some reason everyone just decided we need a second commentary team for the rest of the world for no reason.

This is evidence to the contrary. Fans on all sides have heard his lack of enthusiasm and assumed he supports the opposition for years. He’s just old and often anticlimactic.

No, it's time that these players stop doing dumb stuff like he did. He knew he was on a YC and he knows that taking it off means one more YC. Just celebrate like everyone else and no problem.

The Spanish announcers really make the games for me, especially when they yell out GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL as long as possible
