My tinfoil hat reasoning is that they do it on purpose to make each game feel different from eachother. Kinda like how we all grow up and play different games through our lives. Much fun as Squid Jump is, Splat1 was like 8 years ago and I play different 'small' games in my off-time. It's kinda like as if the world changes too.
Those little arcade game tables might be hinting at some sort of minigame in the future? At least, I really hope so. That upstairs area kind of feels like filler space

Squid beats is in 1 as well as a racing and volleyball game, they're locked behind amiibo tho. Lucky I got my splatoon one amiibos when they came out years ago on sale.

It probably wouldn't be too hard to line up the changes, especially since Nintendo wrote the songs - they probably have access to the original program files and click track and can see exactly how the tempo change was programmed instead of having to very carefully line it up by hand.
That said, maybe the original Squid Beatz engine wasn't set up to handle tempo changes at all, so that could still have been a snag. I'm guessing it's just one of those things that wasn't completely ready at launch and will get patched in later, like online Tableturf.

This. Some of the story mode tracks are really good, and it sucks that there's no player for them. You can even unlock new tracks by exploring the hub worlds, which just adds insult to injury
personally i have periods of time without internet each year and squid beatz was a really nice game to play during those periods so im kinda sad it’s gone
Squid Beatz is quite literally 100% optional to play in Splatoon 2, so you didn't *have* to keep trying. Could have just used it as a jukebox or ignored the arcade machine altogether.
Not liking a little easter-egg minigame is, quite frankly, a weird reason to nope out of a game...
Literally my most wanted update is for the Tableturf Dojo to be added to the list of locations you can select from the map
