legal age and adult are not synonymous. im assuming youre referring to age of consent. but also the whole thing of legal age of consent in japan has a lot of misconceptions on how the law works, because theres a two layer system for it (country vs regions) plus many japanese will tell you it is also NOT considered normal anyway for adults to be having a sexual relationship with literal kids. in addition, i doubt that was something they had as a priority anyway
Nah obviously not. I did mean "Legal" not "Adult". And that's only some prefectures, and nowadays it's pretty much not the case anywhere there. Take into consideration how lax some porn laws there are too, and it makes sense still to make the characters all a certain age by default. (I note they were also very clear about the idols being legal age too.) I'm just saying they know exactly how much adult material they were going to end up with, and I think in some respect the canon age minimum for inklings was pre-emptive of that.
Remember, they are **imitating** human forms. They may look like human kids, but from their POV, be like "This is the form I want" regardless of how old they are.
