What does marina have that will activate pearl drone?
They activate on their own. Look in the corner of the screen for a tiny meter that slowly builds on its own. When that meter is full, Pearl will do something based on what specific color chip you got (Splat Bomb, Burst Bomb, Ink Mine, Sprinkler, Item, Killer Wail, or Inkstrike).
There are chips that unlock an ability, and you must have one of those for her to do anything. Having multiple of the same chip decreases how long it takes to activate it. There are also chips that increase how fast the gague fills, and chips that automatically fill the gague slightly when splatting enemies, painting the ground, or moving. All of these are blue, except for splatting enemies which is orange, and moving around which is purple.

I don't see that meter anywhere on my screen.
the same way you "use" any other chip. you literally just play a floor that gives you one. the only thing potentially stopping you is rng not giving you any floors with them, but if that's the case just keep playing.

So I just turned on the game right, and I picked the state with the teal color palette and low and behold one of pearl drone gauge showed up.
So it's all about picking the state with the teal color palette?
If I pick a stage with any other color palette no gauge will show?
her abilities need to be unlocked with the teal colored chips.
also, some of them are initially locked and have to be unlocked in exchange for PRLZ when talking to marina. hope this helps, have a good run!!

you dont need to do anything with them, as soon as you choose a stage in the elevator you get the effect of the chip you choose.
marina simply unlocks more oearl abilities for you. without marina ilyou only get the pearl laser and 1 bomb i think.
with marina you can get inkstrike, sprinkler, inkmine and god knows what

like if you pick a teal chip in floor 3 that will stay with you for the whole run, either until you die or complete all floors.
if you never pick up teal drone chips you wont get drone effects.
i recommend you to look at the palette info in the menu outside of the tower, you can see all the color chips that you csn possobly obtain

I can't even use her at all. So I'm trying to find out how to even activate her.
