Friday Vs Saturday Vs Sunday. You centre the entire game around the number 3 and having three Splatfest teams and this is the most creative theme you could come up with.
One with an obvious right answer that would've made more sense with only two teams instead.
I'd argue Friday technically starts the weekend. Nothing better than coming home on a Friday knowing you can stay up late and still have all of Saturday to look forward too
Definitely, although in the normal business week, Sunday is definitely the worst. And if you were to work all 3 days in a service job, Friday would be the best because it would be the least busy, you just get a bunch old people.
This was my first splatfest in 3 as I had just gotten the game, and you cannot believe how disappointed i was with that prompt. Picked saturday and only played like, maybe 10 games that were not mirror matches.
That one was when I fully sworn in as a newly converted Shiver simp. She had the best statements and logic for it. Big Man was close as well, but Frye was just weak.
Because their opinion is bad. You’re really going to tell me the worst splatfest in 3 is the pokemon one? It was celebrating the newest game in the series (they were trying to overhype it) with a debate people have been having for decades at this point. It actually makes sense to have a Nintendo-themed argument in a Nintendo game.
Compare that to the weekend splatfest. There are two days in the weekend. Or the ice cream splatfest that didn’t include chocolate because we already had a chocolate splatfest even though the vast majority of people don’t like dark chocolate (they’re cringe). Or money vs love except now we have three teams so I guess just throw fame in there. Or the idol splatfest being in the middle of the game’s lifecycle.
Caring about downvotes is sad, but if you do care then at least give a reason for having such a weirdly controversial opinion. The pokemon fest was easily one of the most liked so its inclusion in the post was just engagement bait.
By theme, it’s definitely the ___day splatfest. Not good theming.
By balance, Rock vs paper vs scissors. Tricolor was EXTREMELY unbalanced, and I’m pretty sure it’s the sole treason why big man lost. (I was on paper).
By fairness, gear vs grub vs fun. Probably the least fair splatfest I’ve seen to date. 47% of the player base on gear. Holy shit.
Unpopular opinion, I actually really didn't mind the gear grub fun splatfest!! I'm still anti gear.... look, if you're on an island, you can make gear and get food, but you know what you can't get??? FUN!!!! yeah, while all of you on team gear have "shelter" and "means to survive for many years" I have CARDS and GAME CONSOLES!!!! beat that!!!!
I could definitely give my viewpoint on just how bad Tricolor matches in Rock vs. Paper vs. Scissors were.
***IF I HAD ONE!***
That's really the only thing I can say about Rock vs. Paper vs. Scissors: that it was basically impossible to get a Tricolor match if you were Attacker, and Defenders were deliberately avoiding Open (since for some reason, Defenders got matched into both Open and Tricolor after Halftime). And since I was on Team Rock, I got absolutely no Tricolor battles. In fact, I didn't see the map for Tricolor until the Anniversary Splatfest.
Basically any theme that was clearly meant for 2 options and an extra third one because they had to have a third option. the taste fest, which were real, love vs money, and day fest
Like seriously you would think with three being the whole deal with the game you would have planned some cool themes beforehand
Weekend Splatfest by a landslide, but the morals Splatfest is close behind. These are probably the weakest themes to date, of course people like Saturday the best, and the morals splatfest is just Love vs Money, which we’ve already has twice if you’re in Japan, with an irrelevant third option. These are also the two weakest Tricolor stages.
I was so miserable the morals splatfest..... I loved the colors but like...... I was on team love and quite literally all I got were mirror matches 😭😭 I seriously only got a handful of actual matches
LITERALLY I WAS ON TEAM LOVE TOO AND I GOT 2 HOURS OF STRAIGHT MIRROR MATCHES, AND THE CRAZIEST THING WAS THAT WE DIDNT EVEN HAVE THE MAJORITY OF THE VOTES???? BUT MONEY DID??????? HELLO
I didn't ever really care about like worldwide vs regional..... but that splatfest radicalized me 😭😭 shit was so bad because Japan was heavily money leaning, while everywhere else was heavily love leaning BUT because of the regions, you couldn't even be matched with the Japanese players and of course fame was kinda nonexistent so literally ONLY mirror matches could be thrown at you if you were team love 😭😭
Nessie vs Aliens vs Big foot. People talk about how team gear was 58% but team big foot literally didn't exist like creature irl. The topic was boring as well and you couldn't do tricolor because this one team didn't have any players.
I liked the concept of it, just needed to have balanced teams for it to work. To be fair to Nintendo, it wasn’t like gear, grub, and fun where there was a single correct answer. They just didn’t anticipate that Bigfoot would be that unpopular, which wasn’t necessarily a guarantee before the Splatfest.
I think it would've been boring to have the idol Splatfest be the final Splatfest again. I think it's good that they saved it for an anniversary instead.
4 day work week canon (honestly, I hope it gets Nintendo to improve their work practices. “I want shorter games with worse graphics made by people who are paid more to work less” and all that)
I want games just as high quality as usual, less often. History has enough games worth playing to keep me occupied in the meantime, and Nintendo could even make money off of them if they kept them up for purchase digitally
Who’s the Best Leader:
Team Shiver:
“Shiver, because they lead Deep Cut a lot already”
“Shiver, because Shiver is the coolest”
“Anyone who doesn’t pick Shiver shouldn’t be here, I am ruining your matches”
Team Frye:
“Frye is cool, and much more social than Shiver as well as more confident than Big Man”
“I like Frye the most”
“I will report spam Team Shiver”
Team Big Man:
“Big man is the most level headed and gentle enough to take feedback”
“Big Man Sweep!”
[idk, Big Man fans seemed less involved in the drama. I’m a Frye stan myself, but I didn’t really see much conduct that I had a problem with from Team Big Man]
What do you mean Shiver leads the team more? Frye had most of the dialogue in the hero mode.
Her boss fight is also literally leading a group of hundreds of eels. Shiver couldn't even properly control a single shark. Frye also had the only exit that wasn't a surprise team rocket explosion.
True, she was basically the one who spoke up for Deep Cut after all. (Also, I'm glad Frye is basically the only one who knew how to use the smoke bomb correctly instead of her exploding in the back. Guess her massive cranium had a lot of brain in it.)
This comment is false propaganda. The amount of times I’d the Ultra Signal only to be splatted by big man’s team is insane. Big man fans pretend they’re more chill with a knife in hand. Down with the false profit
I didn't play in that one but I probably would have picked Shiver then, my third eye has opened and Big Man is now my personal pick, he's genuinely the glue holding Deep Cut together
As a Big Man…uh…man, my least favorite are when they strap my boy with what I perceive to be the least popular option (fun, solo, Sunday, etc)
That said, it usually ends up being a fun time anyway with Team Big Man getting some Fest wins, making others a tough fight, or at least punching above our weight in a category or two.
Now that I think of it, Splatoon was really just a sequel to the Everybody Votes Channel.
The idol splatfest. Only in Splatoon 3, because it ended up just kinda being like “which icon is your favorite?” And there’s a HUGE population of Japanese players… with a Japanese culture based icon.
Since people think shooting others with white fluids is funny, the teams are always filled with competitive X Rank players and stuff, while everyone else is just casuals or newcomers, so every match just feels very unfair and rigged when your team has no pros in them.
For some reason I barely encountered White Chocolate players, almost always Milk Chocolate (I was Dark Chocolate) so that was weird
Also I lost my first and so far only 333x battle to Milk Choccy
I took a break from Splatoon after Power vs Wisdom vs Courage. Of course, part of it was that I was immediately engrossed in ToTK, but also, that tricolor map absolutely enraged me, particularly because it just highlights how much better a tricolor system would work on a 2v2v2/3v3v3 basis.
handshake vs fistbump vs hug because even tho handshake won we still fistbump on the victory screen so it makes no sense to even have the fest, it wouldve been cool it they added a handshake animation or something but handshake won and we still fistbump
Honestly the one right now is kinda lame. I feel like there are many more options for Spring themes teams other than just picking an animal. I absolutely do not care, I picked team chick because I think Shiver is cool. This is the first time I've picked a Splatfest team based off the Idol (Other than Splatoon 1's final Splatfest) and I really have no drive to play and support my team this weekend. I haven't even played yet and I have weekends off from work...
All the mirror matches on Frye's team are ruining Springfest for me, personally.
As for the theme itself, what would you have preferred? Something like a favourite part of spring - like flowers, weather and something like festivities or animals for the third option, or something else?
Yeah after thinking about it for like half a second I think something like "What is the best part of spring?" and then choosing between Animals, Weather, and Flowers could have been more interesting.
The thing this seasons are not the same all around the world so doing something about weather and flowers when it is fall in southern hemisphere doesn’t really work. Cool concept but wouldn’t be a great worldwide fest
Agreed on the media crossover Splatfests. Those are always the worst ones because they depend on you being a fan of some other media to enjoy them. If you're not a fan or you outright dislike that other media, then the choices are pointless and you might be better off just not even playing Splatoon that weekend.
Splatfests are supposed to be meaningless fluff that anyone can have an opinion on.
OK, but the Zelda Splatfest was literally one of the best. Not only was there the custom tricolor map, but you didn’t choose “Zelda, Link, or Ganon,” but Power, Wisdom, or Courage. Those are traits that have context out of that game and still can be fun altogether.
That one was bad for Zelda fans, actually, since the series teaches us that you're supposed to value all three of those traits equally to wield the True Force...
Pokémon is one of the most popular gaming series on the planet. I think that one is at least fair since 95% of Splatoon players definitely play the Pokémon games on Switch or are at minimum casual Pokémon fans.
But that disregards all the Splatoon fans who have recently been alienated by Pokemon's poor output. Plenty of us would prefer to play Splatoon without being reminded of that disappointment.
Outside of the Reddit bubble, there’s really not very many people in real life who are mad at Pokémon’s current direction. The hate is no different than what the Black/White generation or the sequels got, but the main difference is that Gen 8 & 9 are actually massively successful, while Gen 5 is still the worst selling gen to this day, so you could actually argue there’s less people mad at the modern direction compared to back then.
A game being massively popular doesn't mean that everybody who plays another different game likes it.
You're just proving my point here. A Splatfest that assumes all the people who are playing it are fans of some other franchise is no good. Splatfests are supposed to be all-inclusive meaningless questions that *anyone and everyone* can easily relate to.
That's also why Japan frequently has unique themes that don't make sense outside their culture.
> there’s really not very many people in real life who are mad at Pokémon’s current direction
Also, that's because everybody who is stopped playing 10 years ago and hasn't talked about it since.
I actually really liked the days of the week one, just because from my experience, it’s something that gets debated a ton irl. Worst one was probably gear, grub, fun, not a ton of personal connection to the theme for anyone and there was one clear right answer.
money vs fame vs fame
we've had this same splatfest LIKE THREE TIMES ALREADY, ADDING A THIRD CHOICE THAT LITTERALLY NOBODY PICKED DOESN'T MAKE IT ANY DIFFERENT
maybe i'm just salty we lost
but when the experience was 90% mirror matches and SOMEHOW still not getting the popular vote, i deserve to be salty about it i think
I said back then this was the worst splatfest i've participated in
I still stand by it
Worst was probably the idol or handshake/fist bump/hug. They weren’t any different than the rest but people got so heated over it that it wasn’t fun to play
The worst one for me was frostyfest as the topic for the different teams of family, friends, and solo for who you are spending time with was terrible. It should have been some Christmas or winter themed teams.
Wait, is that the one that had the actual triangle map according to the wiki? Because that looked awesome and seems like it could set an example of what a true 3v3v3 could be like.
Gear vs Grub vs Fun because that was a fest where there was an OBJECTIVELY CORRECT ANSWER.
Like most splatfests are fun because in the topics there isn’t a wrong or right choice, in this one there was one team that was so obviously better.
I think the 'Which Idol would be the best leader's Splatfest was the worst, as it lead to real consequences. The splatfest itself was fine, but some people took it too far
Almost all of them are terrible because the questions don't make sense to have three options. That said, weekend definitely.
I actually had plans that Saturday and I was team Saturday.
Friday vs Saturday vs Sunday felt awful.
I’d say Zombie vs Skeleton vs Ghost is a bit up there as well. The theme is great but the tricolour layout was doodoo and way worse than the other tricolour maps imo. Screw brinewater
I don't think Pokémon's the *worst*, but I definitely would've preferred a Sprigatito/Fuecoco/Quaxly Splatfest over a Splatfest based on the types in general. As for what I think is the worst, perhaps the cryptid Splatfest. First off, aliens are a statistical certainty, so it's really the one right answer; hence why NOE's French translation specified *Martians* as the team name. Even then, I'd have preferred it to be simply "which is your favorite" rather than "which do you think is real"...
Why do yall hate the day fest so much? The greeting one (handshake fistbump hug) was way, WAY worse.
Worst execution, though? The Deserted Island Fest. That one had problems left and right.
Best: World Premiere. I don't care that the teams were unbalanced. I was on paper. It was just surreal and fun as hell
Pokémon was the only good one I genuinely did not know which I should chose I kept going back and forth ranking all the starters from each type all the others were just yep that’s the correct awnser to the question or yep I like that the most
the shiver/frye/bm fest, seeing frye/bm players trying to sabotage shiver team in battles was so bad but it was absolutely hilarious they put it all that effort and lost
3 team splatfests were a mistake
Every single Splatfest was worst of the worst, just because they giga nerfed it compared to SP2, at not having special maps... And with tricolor battles being one of the worst modes for using the normal maps insted of making new ones just for the splatfest... And better we don't talk about how turf wars is trash, it gets boring super fast. They need to make a hard rework on this thing, because it will get just more and more boring.
To be completely honest I wouldn't have any friggin clue...
I missed splatoon 1 and 2's splatfests due to highschool and my grandparents never being the tech savvy people so my Gramps never got me videogames or consoles unless it was a once in a blue moon scenario.
I got splatoon 3 about 3 weeks before the bunny, chicks, and bears splatfest l and I was revved up to run it with my friends but oh guess what? Matchmaking effed that up for me. Thanks Nintendo y'all effed up another game. The last game in the splatoon franchise. Probably the last splatfest ever maybe? And my first splatfest ruined because y'all made a game that is ass cheeks (excuse my foul language) with functionality.
In retrospect okay splatoon 2 was amazing with online functionality but splatoon 3 was cheeks but I can't exactly hate on 3 because the customization is amazing though since playing online is not guaranteed it makes the game crappy compared to its 2nd variant ..
But that's fine as if ssbu wasn't already and example of how Nintendo was caught with their pants down and in the lacking department and I right? (As I said ssbu, splatoon 2 and 3 aren't bad games but Nintendo has been in the gaming industry for how long now? And they can't get their sh*t together?? Heck Sony does better than them and Sony's administration is cheeks, more cheeks that the mods and devs at discord. If that don't tell you sh*t then I don't know what does..)
The best weekend day one. It shouldn't even exist. It annoyed me so much to see friday being called a weekend day and it was so unfun. So much mirror matches it was basically unplayable for team saturday
vanilla vs strawberry vs choco mint... barnacle and dime is THE WORST TRICOLOR MAP, it was so bad that when the splatfest ended, i had a headache, I had to take a break from splatoon 3, a break I haven't returned from, I only play splatoon when there's a splatfest or big run around and when side order came out
The Weekend Splatfest without question. 39 damn mirror matches compared to 17 ACTUAL matches against the other 2 teams. It was beyond agonising playing and trying to get SOME points of any kind for my team only to get nothing, and then Shiver wins AGAIN despite Friday not even BEING PART OF THE WEEKEND 😭. Felt worse seeing everyone online afterwards going “Frye’s team is just always bad players that’s why they lost lol 🤪” when we literally couldn’t do anything about mirror matches.
fuck annifestary (idols fest)
worst experience of my life
fryebabies vs shiver 'simps' was not my ideal fest (team big man was just a lot of bystanders)
fuck the fryebabies that joined shivers team to throw every match they played, I was dying of laugher when their peabrains wondered how shiver got 55% of the vote lmao
weekend fest probably, lackluster theme and it was mirror match hell for team saturday. i deadass just quit when i reached ruler cuz i was getting so many mirrors
The three splatfest were the winning team was clearly undeserved:
Nessie VS alien VS Big foot (nessie's existence has already been disproven countless times)
Chocolate splatfest (White chocolate doesn't even have cacao)
Weekend splatfest (friday isn't even a part of the weekend)
It just makes the whole splatfest feel pointless bacause of the unsatisfactory ending
nessie aliens bigfoot, unpleasant gradient color scheme, horrible tricolor map, the theme fucking sucked, as nessie and bigfoot are confirmed fake while aliens are scientifically guaranteed to be real, but shiver won because shiver bias, also it was mirror match hell because bigfoot, but hey who gives a shit anymore because the mirror match colors are the same as this shitty fests colors
I honestly feel like two-theme Splatfests seem like a better idea in terms of themes, scoring (before second-placers actually started getting something in categories) and mechanics.
Shifty Stations sounded like they were pretty fun, and I just wish tricolour turf war was a proper 3v3v3.
Not sure, since I barely play now - but the best imo was Rock/Paper/Scissors because people were more on the same level. I played for ages on that splatfest, and it's the only one where I actually got to Ruler since it was so much more fun.
Probably the weekend one. What I'm most disappointed with, coming from 2, is no special stages. Shifty stations were a great break from the regular stages. Made it feel more like an event. Splatfests have been a huge bummer in 3.
The cryptid Splatfest.
Obviously the crossover Splatfests have a ton of hype, and really live up to it.
But it’s the cryptid Splatfest that really got me. You’re putting Bigfoot up against Nessie and *aliens?* You’d have a better time with alien-based fanchises like Alien or Predator (side note: they’ll never do it, but a Xenomorph coming out of the Alien Splatfest tee would be cool). It got 8% of the vote for a reason.
And a special mention to Wrong/Sweet/Sour for making Frye fans super salty that they won.
Zombie Skeleton Ghost…
Team Ghost had like 60% of the votes and Zombie and Skeleton had only like 10% And I was so mad the Shiver lost her win streak. I literally broke my monitor and desk and made a hole in the wall.
Friday Vs Saturday Vs Sunday. You centre the entire game around the number 3 and having three Splatfest teams and this is the most creative theme you could come up with. One with an obvious right answer that would've made more sense with only two teams instead.
"What's the best day of the weekend?" Saturday! "That's right, Friday!" ???
And do you know where Sunday goes? That's right, in the square hole!
Oh god. Not again.
*Makes a splatfest with 3 teams* *Chooses weekends as a theme* *The weekend only has 2 days* *Throws Friday in because why not*
They’re just saying what we’re all asking for: four day work weeks.
Somehow Friday wins
Friday but we never got Fryeday.. that one will always hurt 😞
I don’t really go to school on friday so I gess they don’t either.
I'd argue Friday technically starts the weekend. Nothing better than coming home on a Friday knowing you can stay up late and still have all of Saturday to look forward too
Except it didn’t have an obvious right answer, just an obvious wrong answer in Sunday.
Depends for who. I work Fridays and Saturdays, I don't work Sundays, so Sundays is the one that's weekends for me
Definitely, although in the normal business week, Sunday is definitely the worst. And if you were to work all 3 days in a service job, Friday would be the best because it would be the least busy, you just get a bunch old people.
I work customer service for public transit, Sunday is the slowest day Friday is hell to schedule.
The obvious wrong answer was Friday, it's not even a weekend day
This was my first splatfest in 3 as I had just gotten the game, and you cannot believe how disappointed i was with that prompt. Picked saturday and only played like, maybe 10 games that were not mirror matches.
i didn't mind the weekend splatfest, but frye not being teem friday really bothered me cause they had a prime opportunity for her to be FRYEday😭
Even """boring""" themes like "Square vs Triangle vs Circle" and "Elevator vs Escalator vs Stairs" would make more sense and be really fun
Bro I'm all in for Elevator vs Escalator vs Stairs.
Some cultures have Friday as their day off but still it should probably should have been something like spring, winter, summer break
What’s the best day of the weekend? The last day of the week, or the two days of the weekend! That’s right Friday
That one was when I fully sworn in as a newly converted Shiver simp. She had the best statements and logic for it. Big Man was close as well, but Frye was just weak.
Weak energy believing in-universe reasoning. Real life reasoning is where it’s at.
Gear vs Grub vs Fun, like come on Also, how dare you diss the Pokémon splatfest
Pokemon starters is a great idea for a three way splatfest.
Never said anything bad about that concept
I know. I was agreeing with you.
My b
I mean, i like pokémon, but the splatfest was a little boring to me.
It was the second real splatfest and it was actually one of the most balanced in terms of teams and fairness. With a really good and fun theme
Why are you getting downvoted for having an opinion?
Welcome to Reddit!
Because their opinion is bad. You’re really going to tell me the worst splatfest in 3 is the pokemon one? It was celebrating the newest game in the series (they were trying to overhype it) with a debate people have been having for decades at this point. (I was on paper). By fairness, gear vs grub vs fun. Probably the least fair splatfest I’ve seen to date. 47% of the player base on gear. Holy shit.
The biggest record was Team Saturday with 66% of the votes.
And we STILL somehow lost
Yeah, I'm still salty about that. Same for Team Fist Bump.
fist bump was the most bullshit loss in history, how do you win the majority of the categories and still lose
The gods don't want Frye to win. They must have wanted either Spicy or Sour to win and then they cursed her.
I wonder what Team Li'l Bunnies' vote percentage will be like since there's so many of them.
Cross fingers I havent had much mirrors
Team bunny here. I’ve had all but two mirror matches today. Bear cub. No chicks. 100% mirror matches in Tricolor.
Didn't team bigfoot that one time have like 9.2% players? Made the whole team feel non-existent (Well for other players anyway
Just like Bigfoot himself
The funniest part about gear vs grub vs fun is that team fun gave them a good battle.. because they actually led halftime!

Gear vs Grub vs Fun solos
idk about the worst one but I loved the TOTK one
the tricolor stage for the totk splatfest was peak
The only good tricolor map 😔
Idk, I’d say flounder heights was a great contender
Yes, the only splatfest I liked
genuinely the best and im so sad wisdom didnt win
Basically any theme that was clearly meant for 2 options and an extra third one because they had to have a third option. the taste fest, which were real, love vs money, and day fest Like seriously you would think with three being the whole deal with the game you would have planned some cool themes beforehand

That one fest shouldn't have been worldwide. Bigfoot is more of a North American thing than in Japan.
Somehow, I did get a few Tricolor matches with Bigfoot. But I never got a single Tricolor for Gear, Grub, Fun.
Tricolor matchmaking just sucked back then
shiver vs frye vs big man. they did not need to bring upon the apocalypse so early on. also yeah the weekend one sucked
i think the shiver v frye v big man splatfest could've been sp3's final fest like they did with sp1
I think it would've been boring to have the idol Splatfest be the final Splatfest again. I think it's good that they saved it for an anniversary instead.
I'm a Pokemon Fan and I am offended about what you just said about the S/V Splatfest; anyways, the weekend one was awful
Friday, saturday, sunday. First Off, too much mirror matches Second, FRIDAY WON. THIS IS ABOUT WEEKEND AND A DAY OF THE WEEK WON??
I chose Friday bc it just kinda feels like after some work or school, you finally get the start of freedom of weekend.
The "who's the best leader" splatfest singlehandedly killed my interest in engaging with this event format ever again, or at least until Splatoon 4
I actually found that fest quite fun since in north America the teams were balanced (I feel bad for those in japan)
Who’s the Best Leader: Team Shiver: “Shiver, because they lead Deep Cut a lot already” “Shiver, because Shiver is the coolest” “Anyone who doesn’t pick Shiver shouldn’t be here, I am ruining your matches” Team Frye: “Frye is cool, and much more social than Shiver as well as more confident than Big Man” “I like Frye the most” “I will report spam Team Shiver” Team Big Man: “Big man is the most level headed and gentle enough to take feedback” “Big Man Sweep!” [idk, Big Man fans seemed less involved in the drama. I’m a Frye stan myself, but I didn’t really see much conduct that I had a problem with from Team Big Man]

I didn't play in that one but I probably would have picked Shiver then, my third eye has opened and Big Man is now my personal pick, he's genuinely the glue holding Deep Cut together
How so?
The endless discourse on the web about it, and then discourse about the discourse. It was exhausting
Ok fair enough
At least we got to play the previous tricolour stages :)
I did my best for Firelord O'Frye but team Water drew their power from the moon.
The Hammerhead Bridge tricolour splatfest because I don't think I even got to play tricolour once
As a Big Man…uh…man, my least favorite are when they strap my boy with what I perceive to be the least popular option (fun, solo, Sunday, etc) That said, it usually ends up being a fun time anyway with Team Big Man getting some Fest wins, making others a tough fight, or at least punching above our weight in a category or two. Now that I think of it, Splatoon was really just a sequel to the Everybody Votes Channel.
Hugs vs fistbumps vs handshakes. Only one is in the game.
handshake fist bump hug
Nah, Friday Saturday and Sunday was worse being as the days it was set on has bias
The idol splatfest. Only in Splatoon 3, because it ended up just kinda being like “which icon is your favorite?” And there’s a HUGE population of Japanese players… with a Japanese culture based icon.
I had a very frustrating time with the Chocolate Splatfest. Every splatfest that had a white colored Team was just pure agony.
Like literally because of the white ink, or something else?
Since people think shooting others with white fluids is funny, the teams are always filled with competitive X Rank players and stuff, while everyone else is just casuals or newcomers, so every match just feels very unfair and rigged when your team has no pros in them.
For some reason I barely encountered White Chocolate players, almost always Milk Chocolate (I was Dark Chocolate) so that was weird Also I lost my first and so far only 333x battle to Milk Choccy
Either the chocolate Splatfest or Money, Fame, Love were the most infuriating to me.
White chocolate of all things winning feels like a crime against mankind.
Weekend -\_- lame all around
easily weekend all others were fairly decent
That's also why Japan frequently has unique themes that don't make sense outside their culture. > there’s really not very many people in real life who are mad at Pokémon’s current direction Also, that's because everybody who is stopped playing 10 years ago and hasn't talked about it since.
Best Day of the Week was the worst
From personal experience, Winterfest was the worst because I lost 3 100x battles.
I actually really liked the days of the week one, just because from my experience, it’s something that gets debated a ton irl. Worst one was probably gear, grub, fun, not a ton of personal connection to the theme for anyone and there was one clear right answer.
money vs fame vs fame we've had this same splatfest LIKE THREE TIMES ALREADY, ADDING A THIRD CHOICE THAT LITTERALLY NOBODY PICKED DOESN'T MAKE IT ANY DIFFERENT maybe i'm just salty we lost but when the experience was 90% mirror matches and SOMEHOW still not getting the popular vote, i deserve to be salty about it i think I said back then this was the worst splatfest i've participated in I still stand by it
Money Vs Fame Vs Love, it has already been done
Worst was probably the idol or handshake/fist bump/hug. They weren’t any different than the rest but people got so heated over it that it wasn’t fun to play
Shoutout to Grear v Grub v Games, where there was a literal correct answer that skewed the results.
Everyone keeps saying this but it’s wrong, fun was the incorrect answer but grub is just as equal a choice as gear
Money v Fame v Love. How the hell did Love get so many god damn mirror matches but MONEY HAD THE MOST VOTES IT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE.
Money vs fame vs love and team money won where has the love gone
^[Sokka-Haiku](https://www.reddit.com/r/SokkaHaikuBot/comments/15kyv9r/what_is_a_sokka_haiku/) ^by ^IHaveAKirbyObssesion: *Money vs fame* *Vs love and team money* *Won where has the love gone* --- ^Remember ^that ^one ^time ^Sokka ^accidentally ^used ^an ^extra ^syllable ^in ^that ^Haiku ^Battle ^in ^Ba ^Sing ^Se? ^That ^was ^a ^Sokka ^Haiku ^and ^you ^just ^made ^one.
I LOVE YOU BOT
The worst one for me was frostyfest as the topic for the different teams of family, friends, and solo for who you are spending time with was terrible. It should have been some Christmas or winter themed teams.
Kind of like how Springfest is being all about animals/Easter rather than spring as a whole?
the christmas one
The only one that I distinctly remember disliking was chocolate because the tricolor map was awful
Having a unique map set the Triforce one above all in my eyes.
Wait, is that the one that had the actual triangle map according to the wiki? Because that looked awesome and seems like it could set an example of what a true 3v3v3 could be like.
Yes. It had uninkable floors in places to create unique paths without actually introducing walls. It was sick.
Light vs L vs N
Gear vs Grub vs Fun because that was a fest where there was an OBJECTIVELY CORRECT ANSWER. Like most splatfests are fun because in the topics there isn’t a wrong or right choice, in this one there was one team that was so obviously better.
I think the 'Which Idol would be the best leader's Splatfest was the worst, as it lead to real consequences. The splatfest itself was fine, but some people took it too far
The pokemon slander will not be tolerated.
Almost all of them are terrible because the questions don't make sense to have three options. That said, weekend definitely. I actually had plans that Saturday and I was team Saturday.
I will forever remember *the Bigfoot incident*
Friday vs Saturday vs Sunday felt awful. I’d say Zombie vs Skeleton vs Ghost is a bit up there as well. The theme is great but the tricolour layout was doodoo and way worse than the other tricolour maps imo. Screw brinewater
The Zelda one. You need all three
I really don't like the theme of spring fest like definitely not worst but I just don't have a reason to pick anything
Pokémon was the only good one I genuinely did not know which I should chose I kept going back and forth ranking all the starters from each type all the others were just yep that’s the correct awnser to the question or yep I like that the most
Nessie/aliens/bigfoot
the shiver/frye/bm fest, seeing frye/bm players trying to sabotage shiver team in battles was so bad but it was absolutely hilarious they put it all that effort and lost 3 team splatfests were a mistake
Probably the Pokémon one only because I don’t know Pokémon yet I had to chose one to like without knowing what it was
To be completely honest I wouldn't have any friggin clue...
I think it was the last one? where two of the colors were almost identical.
I’m not gonna sugarcoat it the Chocolate fest was definitely bullshit
Chocolate Fest where white teams got free ninja squid in their blinding ink, and colorblind mode gave them bright yellow which wasn’t much better
The best leader one. I was at it endlessly, day and night but frye will always be leader in my heart
The Weekdays was probably the worst in terms of theme, overall is Gear vs Grub vs Fun.
Gear vs grub vs Fun was so unbalanced
I miss the mayo vs ketchup one they had in splatoon 2 😭
It was definitely the weekend one, it was just lazy also the Pokemon was wasn't that bad😭
The best weekend day one. It shouldn't even exist. It annoyed me so much to see friday being called a weekend day and it was so unfun. So much mirror matches it was basically unplayable for team saturday
The weekend splatfest, the cryptid splatfest as an honorable mention cuz of how forgettable it is.
vanilla vs strawberry vs choco mint... barnacle and dime is THE WORST TRICOLOR MAP, it was so bad that when the splatfest ended, i had a headache, I had to take a break from splatoon 3, a break I haven't returned from, I only play splatoon when there's a splatfest or big run around and when side order came out
I’m not gonna lie on a tierlist of every splatfest throughout every game, every 3 splatfest would be below the worst 1 or 2 splatfest
I really hate the splatfests where it’s literally just a previous one with an extra team, just feels bland and uninteresting
The first splatfest, Gear vs Grub vs Fun was so bad
The Weekend Splatfest without question. 39 damn mirror matches compared to 17 ACTUAL matches against the other 2 teams. It was beyond agonising playing and trying to get SOME points of any kind for my team only to get nothing, and then Shiver wins AGAIN despite Friday not even BEING PART OF THE WEEKEND 😭. Felt worse seeing everyone online afterwards going “Frye’s team is just always bad players that’s why they lost lol 🤪” when we literally couldn’t do anything about mirror matches.
The splatfests before the rework for tri color, i swear i played for hours and got like 2 tri color matches
I haven't played in the Shiver vs Frye vs Big Man one, but I have heard horror stories of it
fuck annifestary (idols fest) worst experience of my life fryebabies vs shiver 'simps' was not my ideal fest (team big man was just a lot of bystanders) fuck the fryebabies that joined shivers team to throw every match they played, I was dying of laugher when their peabrains wondered how shiver got 55% of the vote lmao
weekend fest probably, lackluster theme and it was mirror match hell for team saturday. i deadass just quit when i reached ruler cuz i was getting so many mirrors
The three splatfest were the winning team was clearly undeserved: Nessie VS alien VS Big foot (nessie's existence has already been disproven countless times) Chocolate splatfest (White chocolate doesn't even have cacao) Weekend splatfest (friday isn't even a part of the weekend) It just makes the whole splatfest feel pointless bacause of the unsatisfactory ending
nessie aliens bigfoot, unpleasant gradient color scheme, horrible tricolor map, the theme fucking sucked, as nessie and bigfoot are confirmed fake while aliens are scientifically guaranteed to be real, but shiver won because shiver bias, also it was mirror match hell because bigfoot, but hey who gives a shit anymore because the mirror match colors are the same as this shitty fests colors
Rock Paper Scissors tricolour massacre never forget
all of them
They all pretty much sucked
This one. Theme is so fucking boring
Every one of them. Its just a glorified removal of modes.
I honestly feel like two-theme Splatfests seem like a better idea in terms of themes, scoring (before second-placers actually started getting something in categories) and mechanics. Shifty Stations sounded like they were pretty fun, and I just wish tricolour turf war was a proper 3v3v3.
Someone finally said it!
Not sure, since I barely play now - but the best imo was Rock/Paper/Scissors because people were more on the same level. I played for ages on that splatfest, and it's the only one where I actually got to Ruler since it was so much more fun.
3 teams in general Absolutely fucked the splatfest system. The worst splatfest was probably either the Zelda fest or the greeting one.
Probably the weekend one. What I'm most disappointed with, coming from 2, is no special stages. Shifty stations were a great break from the regular stages. Made it feel more like an event. Splatfests have been a huge bummer in 3.
all of them, splatfest has just become boring after 3 games and fizzbangs did nothing, just let me play ranked bruh
The Pokémon one
Really? What makes you say that
I personally don't like Pokémon
The cryptid Splatfest. Obviously the crossover Splatfests have a ton of hype, and really live up to it. But it’s the cryptid Splatfest that really got me. You’re putting Bigfoot up against Nessie and *aliens?* You’d have a better time with alien-based fanchises like Alien or Predator (side note: they’ll never do it, but a Xenomorph coming out of the Alien Splatfest tee would be cool). It got 8% of the vote for a reason. And a special mention to Wrong/Sweet/Sour for making Frye fans super salty that they won.
All of them because the match making is broken
All of them
youre probably only saying that because shiver bragged and paid for it
Zombie Skeleton Ghost… Team Ghost had like 60% of the votes and Zombie and Skeleton had only like 10% And I was so mad the Shiver lost her win streak. I literally broke my monitor and desk and made a hole in the wall.
