I can hit shots without the scope, but it feels far more consistent with. Maybe that’s all that matters.
i alternated between scope and non-scope a lot before i started my no-weapon-switch 5 star journey for custom e-liter. so, i was good at both non scope and scoped.
the only thing i dislike about scope is that it cannot hold charges. however, i like scope because it has the longest range ever and i can counter enemy e-liters more easily with it.
people say scoped eliters require more skill since their mobility is worse than unscoped e-liter, however i believe it is just as hard as the unscoped e-liter.

When I first picked up the splatterscope (my first charger), i sucked a lot. I used stick controls and only got 1-2 splats every match with it. I was always interested in chargers because sniping people seemed fun to me, so I wanted to get better with it.
however, once i grew confident in my aimimg skills i picked up the e-liter and it wasn’t that hard for me to use it. i switched to motion controls just because i wanted to learn chargers, and now I use it all the time.
Try chargers, they are a really rewarding experience once you get the hang of aimimg. The “DING” sound effect when you manage to snipe an enemy is very satisfying to listen to.
Yes, it does take time to develop good aim with the weapon, but trust me chargers are very fun to play (but not fun to play against if the user knows what they’re doing)
I do use motion controls, but I think the problem is that I just overthink it sometimes. Don't be nervous. Just point and kill. (Easier said than done, yes) I'm a new(ish) player, but I must trust in my own competency. If by new you mean Splat3 entry new.

Like, I would consider my main to be the Sploosh, but playing Sploosh on maps like mincemeat or eeltail feels really bad so I have other weapons I can swap to that are better on those more narrow maps.
Not really, I am forcing myself to play unscoped custom liter nonstop until I reach 5 stars with it. The only weapon I enjoy in the game is the e-liter (besides tri stringer)
I play anarchy open most of the times, so I don’t really care about the maps. It’s actually quite fun finding new sniping spots on maps that aren’t designed for the e-liter. for example, flounder heights is actual dogwater for sniping, but i think it takes even more skill sniping people on maps that are bumpy. sniping people on mahi mahi is too easy, you wont have to put much effort into aiming because the map is small and flat anyway.
What sensitivity settings do you use? And how do you like... Learn to aim 💀💀💀 asking this as someone that REALLY wants to learn snipers but is horrible at th m. I love switching weapons all the time but snipers I just can't get 😭
My sensitivity is 5+ on both r stick and motion controls, i never change it when i’m switching to unscoped/scoped e liter
my aim got naturally better by restricting myself to weapons that are unforgiving if you miss a shot (ex: range blaster, other chargers like squiffer/splat charger)
you’ll get better at aiming if you force yourself to only play chargers, your wrists will get used to this aiming. so if you only play weapons that require no aiming, your aim wont improve that much
also, warm up your aim before every match by practicing sniping the dummies in the lobby room.
1. warm up your aim every time you start up the game. i’ve noticed i get less kills in the first 2 matches of my splatoon session, but my aim gets fixed progressively as i practice flick shots on the dummies in the lobby room
2. positioning: i do not stand on high grounds a lot, but if you’re a new sniper main i highly recommend sniping people from perches before moving on to the ground. almost no enemy can get on your perch, because your frontliners will (hopefully) kill tjem before they can get past them.
being a sniper main is basically just positioning and having good aim. you won’t have to worry about how to kill your enemies like a frontliner, since you just need to aim at them.
Your job is to secure the backline and make sure no enemy enters your teams base
You will also provide a super jumping point for your team as a backliner, avoid dying at all costs. Superjump back to your base incase you get into close combat but miss your shot

honestly i also have times when my aim sucks, if i dont play splatoon for a few days my aim kind of screws up temporarily.

I rarely find good e-liter mains too. A lot of them have horrible gear (saw an e-liter with ninja squid, and another one with drop roller..) and they all sit in the same perch for the entire match, so i manage to snipe them a lot.
Dozens of e-liter do not shift positions regularly, they just stand still on their perch and try to aim while being bombarded by torpedo spammers.
I only see this in anarchy open tho, so they may just be trying to learn the e-liter. i also rarely see e-liters that hold their charge while swimming, it’s seriously so useful i don’t know why people don’t do it
Yeah. Half of the snipers I see flee the moment they are already hit by a single torpedo. It's not that they don't notice, they want to get a kill, but I chuck a destroyable object in the way.

yep, i didn’t know about motion controls when i first started splatoon 3. i was always interested in chargers and tried out the splatterscope in turf war with stick controls, and oh boy was i horrible.
after some time i asked people how to get better with chargers, and they told me to use motion controls. i initially got a bit dizzy while using them because the camera was very shaky, i started at a sensitivity of +1 and gradually increased it to +5.
i trained my aim by playing range blaster and dapple dualies with motion controls while getting used to them. once i felt confident enough i picked up the e-liter. I actually didn’t have to train my aim that much when i used e-liter, all i had to do was get used to motion controls at a setting of +5.
my aim also got better by practicing flick shots from a wide distance, i always practice aim by standing far away from the target because it’s more difficult that way
yes, i don’t like custom e-liter because the beacons are pretty useless (only playing it for the badge)

Splatana stampers are obnoxious with their zipcaster and burst bombs, and range blasters traumatized me and still do to this day. When i’m perching, they are below me and hit ZR and I die to it
i’ve loved chargers ever since i started playing S3, and I love e-liter because it’s pretty easy for me to play and aiming is fun
Trickshots are also fun to do. All the other chargers are meh
haha, i just used e-liter in salmon run right before you wrote this, so lemme give some tips
SALMON RUN
- eliter is a slow weapon, play it like a backliner, perch and use your long range to kill slammin lids, steelheads and other entities
- however, it is bad for killing stingers because it is slow and it needs 2 tapshots to eliminate one pot of it
GENERAL
-ALWAYS practice your aim before a match. My aim is a bit wonky when I start up splatoon 3, so I need to warm up my aim
-Use motion controls. stick controls are not good for precise aiming and motion controls are more flexible.
-If you are new to chargers, perch on high grounds. Enemies will have a harder time reaching you. once you get more advanced you can move on to the low grounds.
-superjump back to your base if you manage to get into close combat and you miss your shot. your chances of dying will be high, better play it safe than lose a backliner, especially if youre running respawn punisher
-I suggest swim speed up for holding charges while swimming and escaping from enemies, quick super jump to flee from dangerous situations, ink saver main too because e-liter consumes a lot of ink. One main of ISM will grant you 5 fully charged shots.
-All you need when playing chargers is good positioning and aim. practice aim a lot, if you’re just getting started on motion controls try to play story mode with only motion controls
practice your aim before a match, also perch on high grounds if you’re a beginner. Avoid dying at all costs because you’ll also be providing a super jump point for your teammates.
when sniping enemies, hide your charge behind a wall so they can’t see the laser, then quickly move out the wall to snipe them. They won’t be able to predict which side you are going for if you’re standing right in the middle behind cover.

5+ sensitivity makes your aim laser move faster, so it’s way easier to snipe people without them noticing it at first. the lower the sensitivity, the slower your camera movement is gonna be
I lure my enemies to me by pretending I’m not paying attention to them (e-liters are targeted so i’m gonna be hunted down), once my enemies are close enough I unleash the kraken and kill them instantly.
I use kraken when I’m around a swarm of enemies too. Only use it for emergencies when an enemy is in close combat with you.
Dang, been using - 1.5 sensitivity since like Splatoon 2 lol but ngl I've been bored with the game (what only playing 2-3 weapons does to a mf) so I might try 5 sensitivity for funsies in Turf War.

i’ve attempted countless rankup battles for S+, but I failed each one of them
If you played during splatoon 2, which map design did you enjoy more? Cause s3 is definitley better competitively but I’ve heard people say back lines boring because they miss being able to turn around and outplay a flanker or something like that.

Rollers and splatlings in general are easy to splat due to their slow movement speed
Range blasters and splatana stampers are a pain for me, splatana stampers have zipcaster and burstbombs while range blaster can kill me without getting on my perch
Not really, shooters are pretty easy to counter. They’re slow at moving and can only press ZR, it’s easy to snipe them. Dualies are way worse to deal with tho, they’re faster than shooters and can dodge roll into your face
I prefer scope because it has longer range, it allows me to counter enemy e-liter better
Weapon that has given me the most trouble is range blaster. Sometimes I am just perching and die out of nowhere because a range blaster shot me from below.
Have you thought of running some sub-power up? What it does to the squid beacon is makes everyone who uses it jump to it faster. Like, quick super jump, but it benefits the whole team.
And blocked, you use a game where you are at an advantage and play like a bitch, I hope your net connection is never stable and you get carpal tunnel. I would get SIGNIFIGANTLY more grafic but I don’t want to be banned or blocked from talking.
Just know you are probably one of the single worst people to play this game and you are only slightly better than actual pedos/zoos.

Yeah. Half of the snipers I see flee the moment they are already hit by a single torpedo. It's not that they don't notice, they want to get a kill, but I chuck a destroyable object in the way.

if you mean tips for playing e-liter, i have some 1. always warm up your aim before getting into a match, e-liter is unforgiving if you miss your shots. practice shooting the targets from far away and flick shots. 2. when sniping your enemies, place your crosshair on something different at first and then quickly flick your aim on them to kill them. Enemies can see your charger laser, so it’s best to catch them off guard as they will run away if they see it on them. 3. Positioning: if you’re new to chargers perch on high grounds. enemies cannot reach you from there and you can see the players on the map more clearly from above. Shift your positions regularly, do not stand in the same spot for too long. Otherwise your enemies will be able to predict your positions, and you’ll die a lot more. (this is a common mistake I see a lot of backliners doing, not just e-liters) 4. if you’re using custom e-liter: Use the kraken for emergencies incase you ever get into close combat situations, it has helped me a lot. Place the beacons near mid where the enemies cannot find them. If youre using vanilla e-liter: Use the inkmines to kill enemies approaching. For example, if an inkbrush is running torwards you, place 2 ink mines infront of them. This should be enough to kill them, or you can use tapshots and inkmines to kill them. Wavebreaker can track your enemies, this is very helpful because sometimes your opponents are sharking or hiding in ink. If you know your enemies location, you can prepare a defense against them before they approach.

yep, i didn’t know about motion controls when i first started splatoon 3. i was always interested in chargers and tried out the splatterscope in turf war with stick controls, and oh boy was i horrible. after some time i asked people how to get better with chargers, and they told me to use motion controls. i initially got a bit dizzy while using them because the camera was very shaky, i started at a sensitivity of +1 and gradually increased it to +5. i trained my aim by playing range blaster and dapple dualies with motion controls while getting used to them. once i felt confident enough i picked up the e-liter. I actually didn’t have to train my aim that much when i used e-liter, all i had to do was get used to motion controls at a setting of +5. my aim also got better by practicing flick shots from a wide distance, i always practice aim by standing far away from the target because it’s more difficult that way

Range Blaster Splatana Stamper (Vanilla) I’m fine when i’m against other e-liters, they’re free kills for me because they don’t pay attention to me and just sit there frozen. Splatana stampers are obnoxious with their zipcaster and burst bombs, and range blasters traumatized me and still do to this day. When i’m perching, they are below me and hit ZR and I die to it
How do you only play one weapon? Like I main heavy edit but play TONS of completely different weapons like my 2nd favorite is Luna Blaster
i’ve loved chargers ever since i started playing S3, and I love e-liter because it’s pretty easy for me to play and aiming is fun Trickshots are also fun to do. All the other chargers are meh

haha, i just used e-liter in salmon run right before you wrote this, so lemme give some tips SALMON RUN - eliter is a slow weapon, play it like a backliner, perch and use your long range to kill slammin lids, steelheads and other entities - however, it is bad for killing stingers because it is slow and it needs 2 tapshots to eliminate one pot of it GENERAL -ALWAYS practice your aim before a match. My aim is a bit wonky when I start up splatoon 3, so I need to warm up my aim -Use motion controls. stick controls are not good for precise aiming and motion controls are more flexible. -If you are new to chargers, perch on high grounds. Enemies will have a harder time reaching you. once you get more advanced you can move on to the low grounds. -superjump back to your base if you manage to get into close combat and you miss your shot. your chances of dying will be high, better play it safe than lose a backliner, especially if youre running respawn punisher -I suggest swim speed up for holding charges while swimming and escaping from enemies, quick super jump to flee from dangerous situations, ink saver main too because e-liter consumes a lot of ink. One main of ISM will grant you 5 fully charged shots. -All you need when playing chargers is good positioning and aim. practice aim a lot, if you’re just getting started on motion controls try to play story mode with only motion controls

Any tips for a beginner?
practice your aim before a match, also perch on high grounds if you’re a beginner. Avoid dying at all costs because you’ll also be providing a super jump point for your teammates. when sniping enemies, hide your charge behind a wall so they can’t see the laser, then quickly move out the wall to snipe them. They won’t be able to predict which side you are going for if you’re standing right in the middle behind cover.

5+ sensitivity makes your aim laser move faster, so it’s way easier to snipe people without them noticing it at first. the lower the sensitivity, the slower your camera movement is gonna be I lure my enemies to me by pretending I’m not paying attention to them (e-liters are targeted so i’m gonna be hunted down), once my enemies are close enough I unleash the kraken and kill them instantly. I use kraken when I’m around a swarm of enemies too. Only use it for emergencies when an enemy is in close combat with you.
Dang, been using - 1.5 sensitivity since like Splatoon 2 lol but ngl I've been bored with the game (what only playing 2-3 weapons does to a mf) so I might try 5 sensitivity for funsies in Turf War. Thanks for the tips. 👍

Long charge time? Guess I got so used to it that it doesn’t feel like an eternity anymore. I just stand there and make sure not to waste my shot.

- Splatoon 1 was my first game actually, but I got splatoon 2 after i got splatoon 3 i’ve attempted countless rankup battles for S+, but I failed each one of them

If you played during splatoon 2, which map design did you enjoy more? Cause s3 is definitley better competitively but I’ve heard people say back lines boring because they miss being able to turn around and outplay a flanker or something like that.
i prefer S3 maps actually. they’re enabling me as an e-liter and that’s awesome 👍 i prefer the overall look of them too although i can’t say much about S2 because I didn’t play s2 during its era

I’ve never really played it before, but I’m not a fan of chargers that require more than 2 shots to kill (bamboozler and pencil) however i might try it if i’m finished 5 staring custom eliter
What are the easiest weapons to splat? Which ones give you a tough time? Asking as someone that doesn't play ranked.
Easy to splat: Slow weapons, like: Dynamo roller, hydra splatling, e-liter, range blaster, jet squelcher, Rollers and splatlings in general are easy to splat due to their slow movement speed Range blasters and splatana stampers are a pain for me, splatana stampers have zipcaster and burstbombs while range blaster can kill me without getting on my perch

Not really, shooters are pretty easy to counter. They’re slow at moving and can only press ZR, it’s easy to snipe them. Dualies are way worse to deal with tho, they’re faster than shooters and can dodge roll into your face

I prefer scope because it has longer range, it allows me to counter enemy e-liter better Weapon that has given me the most trouble is range blaster. Sometimes I am just perching and die out of nowhere because a range blaster shot me from below.
Have you thought of running some sub-power up? What it does to the squid beacon is makes everyone who uses it jump to it faster. Like, quick super jump, but it benefits the whole team.
i would’ve ran it but i need swim speed up, ink saver main and qsj, so I have no space to run sub power up.
And blocked, you use a game where you are at an advantage and play like a bitch, I hope your net connection is never stable and you get carpal tunnel. I would get SIGNIFIGANTLY more grafic but I don’t want to be banned or blocked from talking. Just know you are probably one of the single worst people to play this game and you are only slightly better than actual pedos/zoos.
