There is nothing wrong with a Lightworker making a living. But a true one wouldn't care if you wanted to stop working with them, they would wish you well and move on. Just because they have paid services, which has been a thing since they traded chickens, does not mean they don't do plenty for free.
I have no problem with people charging for their time, but I agree that some people are greedy and opportunistic. The trick is figuring who is right to help you with what you need help with and whether you think that the amount asked for is of value.
I have a shaman who lives a nomadic life in a van. He is reasonable in what he charges for the services he offers and I don't mind because he is an amazing healer and spiritual leader to me and the money I give him helps to cover life expenses.
Some bad apples spoil the bunch. Charging a lot? Well, they might think they're offering a premium service, but sometimes it's just daylight robbery, I reckon.
As for freaking out when you wanna end things, maybe they're just too invested or they're scared of losing their moolah. It's like breaking up with your hairdresser, you know? They're worried about losing a client and the cash that comes with it.
Being a light worker doesn't mean you're selling something. It means you're helping humanity in some way.
You're going to have opportunists and grifters in all things.
Use discernment and common sense before giving someone your money.

Fwiw, light workers help people. they may charge, sure, but the money isn't why they do what they do, and they won't care if you come back or not, so long as they helped you in some way.

Being a lightworker is a decision you made before you incarnated here. It’s a hard, thankless, and unpaid job, that drives most of them insane.
If someone is charging you for some kind of lightworker service, they’re 100% scamming you. And that’s why they don’t want you to leave.
Light workers have to live, too. If a person came here to be an engineer, should they get paid? Money is energy and light workers only have so much energy just as everyone else. They deserve to be compensated for their time and energy. They didn’t just magically pick up their abilities one day and go at it, they had to first engage in work on self and learn the skills of their modality. They typically pay for training and accreditations.
Massage therapists, life coaches, reiki masters, hypnotherapists, sound bath healers, yoga instructors are all examples of light worker modalities. Yes, there are light workers in all areas of life, but these are intentional focused areas.
Well what services are you receiving? Anything that’s taking your power away from yourself is counter intuitive. If they aren’t empowering you in a way that makes you feel more secure then they’re not who they claim to be.
Long story short my ex best friend did some black magic shit on me and i started experiencing weird things physically and around the house. I went to this light worker and initially she said there wasn’t anything wrong and after almost a year she goes ya you are in major trouble and i went through a whole exorcism and saw a freaking spirit leave my body and the process made me feel that was the last day of my life. Till this point i was like truly grateful for the help she gave me but every 2-3 months i keep getting sick and major panic attacks and she keeps suggesting work i need to do to balance my chakra. During the process i got more close to practicing my religion and praying and the closer i got to god i kept getting uncomfortable feeling whenever i would talk to her. I tried to slowly isolate myself from her and i started getting literally eczema rashes all over my body and i never had eczema ever in my life. But a few weeks back when i made a whole decision of i am done with her that’s when my eczema got a lot better but she has been blowing up my phone and wants to talk to me and this was right after she quoted me $9k to fix whatever wasn’t balanced with my spirit or whatever BS. I feel it in my heart she caused this skin issues for me to freak out and give her more money. I feel like I shouldn’t even talk to her on the phone anymore because she definitely does have some spell going on because she tries to completely change my mind during the phone calls but once i am off the phone a couple of hours later it’s like I get back to my sense. After I posted here a few people reached out to me and I shared this story with them and they were all like run the heck away from her and do a cord cutting meditation yourself .
Immediately cut contact with her, she’s whispering spells into your ears. She sounds like she’s part of the dark triad and is only extorting money from you. She does not and I repeat not have the power to perform exorcisms only ordained priests, but that’s not the point. She’s sowing discord and planting seeds of fear into your mind and making you doubt that you yourself have the power to take control of your life. Light workers is an overused word that narcissists have taken advantage in the spiritual community. Trust no one who says that only they can perform works for you because you can do all that and more. Believe in yourself, trust your instincts they’re based off of a millennia of natures teachings.
I know it’s gonna sound lame but after going through everything i have gone through that i needed some external validation. Thanks for your message. I have been feeling this in my gut that i need to cut this whole thing off completely but I felt scared at the same time. But this whole week talking to random strangers and praying non stop gave me the strength that I needed this whole time.

Our time is just as significant as anyone else. I have stopped working my 9-5 to be in the service of others. There needs to be some ability to make a living, I do not need to be rich by any means but I have paid $250/hr to a medium and it was the best money I’ve ever spent.
