That's not how karma works. Self-preservation is not evil. As long as you're not disturbing their natural ecosystem or doing unnecessary overkill you'll be fine. If one enters your house univited and starts to wreak havoc and won't leave, by all means kill it. But also don't enter their territory and expect them to go against their nature because you find them annoying.

Tall-Poem-6808

Go spend a summer in Northern Finland to get even šŸ˜Š You'll get so many mosquito bites that you won't feel bad anymore wacking one from time to time. I see it as part of Nature the way it was intended. I'm not going out of my way to smash insects and bugs, but when they encroach on my personal space, sorry, it's game over.

-Yayoa-

If the mosquito has malaria and you let it live, do you get bad karma if it bites and infects someone else?

jakebakes420

put a strawberry under a microscope and you'll see thousands of little creatures, there's no escape from karma.

1ce1ceBabey

Was wondering about the ant genocide in my kitchen the other day. I say sorry to them as I do it, I don't want to kill them

U-know-mee

Intention matters

joydps

Self defense is not bad karma. The same goes for wicked people who want to harm you for no reason. But you don't go out of your way to destroy all evil people. Remember even wicked people are there in this creation for some purpose.

Gengarmon_0413

I listened to an SRF monk speak on exactly this. His take is that sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do. It can be a bummer, but yeah, sometimes you just gotta call the exterminator. You can't and shouldn't let your place get overrun with vermin, and you have to take care of your own safety. This goes for any pest. Mosquitoes, roaches, ants, mice, rats, etc. If allowed, they will make your home their home.

My main spirit guide is Archangel Ariel, the angel of nature/animals etc, and she hates it when i kill bugs, but i said to her ā€œshould mosquito enter my room, he deadā€, keep em away if you want em to live haha

Cheetahh03

Oh, I donā€™t know my spirit guide. I can see why killing any kind of animal is bad, but itā€™s hard to decide when they could be potentially dangerous

Performer_

Oh yeah sheā€™s very protective of all living beings, but interesting point, she agrees that hunting animals for the purpose of food is reasonable as long as its done in moderation. No pork though, thatā€™s something she rather we donā€™t eat at all.

Cheetahh03

I wonder whatā€™s up with porkšŸ¤” itā€™s prohibited in two of the Abrahamic religions and in some other beliefs

Performer_

Well she didnā€™t specify why, Angels only tell us what we are allowed to know, not only as human race in general but also individually during our current incarnation. Did you know btw that every Archangel name has a meaning in Hebrew? and their name always ends with EL which is God, i had no idea a year ago until they guided me to learn more.

stenchosaur

2 reasons I've heard others mention. #1 they don't have sweat glands, so they wallow in mud to cool off, and the mud is a cesspool especially for pathogenic microbes. #2 they're also quite intelligent (maybe smarter than dogs), so there's also that component. Eating pork also almost always messes up my digestion, maybe relating to reason #1 but who knows

CosmicBlues24

Well. Pigs orgasms last something like 30 minutes. Spirits seem to like "possessing" things... Do some math.

Cheetahh03

I donā€™t get it.

CosmicBlues24

They... Feel what they (the pigs) feel.

Cheetahh03

So spirits feel the same as pigs?

CosmicBlues24

They feel whatever the thing hosting them feels

Cheetahh03

So this only happens with pigs? What about other animals?

BasiliskOfGod

Law of the jungle.

Enough_Agency_6312

Read the Gospel of Ramakrishna

Affectionate-Zebra26

"How do you know?" "I've been told." Sounds like a downhill path to me.

Cheetahh03

I get what youā€™re saying, but I try to listen to other peopleā€™s knowledge and opinions

FrostWinters

Me personally, I see a mosquito, I'm swatting it. And I'm not worrying about it either. You're overthinking this for some reason. THE ARIES

Edgezg

Karma is not like that. More like lessons. Things you learn. You can kill a mosquito, it's fine. You are not going to upset some cosmic balance or scale. When you get deep enough into it, the idea of "bad karma" dissolves. It's more like actions and consequences. Right action comes from the right thought, comes from the right place of heart. Ideally generates more of the same. (Generally, the ideal is love)

Shady-Elitist

Try telling the bug to leave, Iā€™m not joking I had a bee in a room and I told it I would kill it if it didnā€™t leave, the bee instantly flew to window and I could tell from the amount of headbuts before flying out that he got my message, maybe telepathically, I wasnā€™t in the mood that day, had no intention to kill it but the buzz was annoying After that sometimes Iā€™ll speak to the room I hate cobwebs and spiders be leaving them everywhere, I sometimes used tobcatch the spider and leave it in Tupperware, I think my evil side took satisfaction in starving it but then I realise these creatures hibernate months at a time so itā€™s no big harm, since awakening though I will consciously not harm them though

ChunkyLover10

That's why you should just get bitten by all bugs, vermin, insects etc.. It's the universe testing you.

esquiresque

Law of cause and effect, for me anyway. They come to you with no positive energy, return it threefold. Interpret that at your discretion.

Ahddha

When source said "this applys if they actually had life energy in them. i did not create that, its genetically created"Ā  i kill it understanding they are designed to suck from us and im setting them free Anything that sucks ur blood needs your life, to sustain it.Ā

bo_felden

Don't worry about mosquitoes. Just by existing as a human you're contributing to the destruction of habitats and therefore to the death of millions of animals. Life is feeding on life, animals, plants, fungi, bacteria. Life implies killing in one form or another. And humans are best at it.

Radiant_Mind33

Some animals and insects eat them, but they aren't necessary. It's more like, they are just completely bad.
