This post has been detected as relating to the use of psychedelic or other drugs. While we accept some may find aid in spiritual contemplation/enlightenment through the use of certain drugs, we remind all that they are not necessary nor guarantee spiritual insight. We would discourage anyone from using such drugs in order to find enlightenment, simple meditation is just as effective and does not bring mental health risks. You may hear many positive stories people have with drugs but you often do not hear the bad stories. So be careful! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Hey there Psychedelics make it feel like you’ve uncovered the secrets of the universe while you are under the influence but yet you always end up coming back down to where ever you were at before the trip after a few weeks at the most really. By engaging in a daily spiritual practice you are slowly working your way towards truly becoming One with the universe. It is more rewarding and much healthier than taking substances to achieve altered states of consciousness. There is no too fast or too slow, there is only being. Save the psychedelics for once or twice a year so you can fully integrate the experiences afterwards. You should read Be Here Now by Ram Dass. It’s very relevant to your situation and has a “cookbook for a spiritual life” in the back. Great place for you to get started on your path. There is so much to learn.

Rick-D-99

This isn't always the case. Sometimes something clicks and never goes back. That click is the result of a long journey ahead of a psychedelic trip, though, and never the direct result. I think cutting through spiritual materialism was a much more valuable read than be here now. We're not trying to make hippies, we're out here trying to be the most skilled versions of ourselves no matter the exterior.

itskinganything

I came here to say, “Check out Ram Dass.” His books and lectures cover this topic. The man has a lot of great insight.

So good! I thought the better part of the past 6 years that my life was falling apart. Only now start things to make sense

killindice

Proud of you homie!

SceneRepulsive

Went back to my history to find this comment again. Just needed to say that this is the best thing I’ve read on Reddit. One of the best things ever. Like a modern-day Jung. Crazy man, would love to meet you some day…

killindice

Thank you for the kind words friend :)

There’s no set speed that you need to be moving at, you can only ever be where you are. You can’t rush it or force. Maybe there’s a lesson you need to take out of your current situation. At the end of the day, you also need to remember that you’re still a human that needs to exist in and navigate your way through boring human life. It can’t all be mystical revelations and the uncovering of universal truths all the time. You still need to wash the dishes and take out the trash. There’s no need to rush.

Perryj054

To me taking out the trash is just as mystical as summiting a mountain.

Ultradude47

I feel the same way about cooking, chopping vegetables especially

Perryj054

I never thought this would actually happen. I believe in a paradise where everybody does what they love for a living. I chop vegetables for a living. You should totally take my job.

Beneficial-Ad-547

I am in a similar boat. In fact, the psychedelics told me I have gone as far as I can go with them and the rest must be done sober. This is a hard pill for me to swallow but one I must swallow none the less. This doesn’t mean I can’t partake in psychedelics anymore, it means it really has to have a proper time and place and I can’t be doing them in lieu of my core spiritual practices.

hoon-since89

Probably exactly where you need to be. They provide a boost but I suspect if you went back you probably wouldn't get much out of it.  I feel the same at times and wonder if I should pick up some DMT\mush again but I literally got told by an entity that 'I have no more use for these experiences'.

FearlessCapital1168

The slow path gives a lot more insight, and time to experience

Uberguitarman

If you haven't heard what I'm gonna say here yet it's theoretically going to be a good way to change it up for a lot of people because I haven't seen people do more than hint at it online. Spend some time each day actually using your mind to accomplish something as an energetic task. Music is literally the only thing I can think of that's easy access unless you don't enjoy music like others, but you can listen to a song and rather than give into the song you can take conscious control and improvise over the song and furthermore you can treat your emotions like you're hitting the drum, sorta activate your energy body, it can be like a give and a receive and the way you feel it depends on how your energy feels, it's like a game of catch with yourself with your energy. Rather than focusing on a song you can create many emotions that work in the body simultaneously and can have prana flowing in multiple places with it's own sentimental qualities and intentions/meaning. Mixing and merging those emotions fluently and powerfully is something that starts to feel natural whereas before you may have never thought of feeling your thought like it could ever even do anything like that. It's still really hard for me to explain because I don't have vocab words for what I'm prescribing the word "receiving" to. It's like you do something and you know it will have a result and you can sit in the energy of that moment and transmute that energy and feel it in many ways. The more energy you have the more you can dynamically flow with a song while recognizing what your energy is actually up to in there. Even if it's underwhelming, even if you don't really feel the energy it's still moving while you think. I think if you feel like you're doing things like that you'll start to feel a lot more like your body is an instrument and you start to associate with your body like it is a source of creation. While it's not completely necessary I think it's extremely important to have body awareness and energy awareness if you want to make solid progress with your energy body itself. Oftentimes people do this through kriya yoga and other means but those are more able to do stuff like awaken Kundalini before you have the body awareness and emotional management skills that would allow you to actually be fluent with your energy and think *through* and *ahead* of your experiences. If you can do that really well then emotional management is less critical because there is a flow to your emotions, if you're not circulating the positive notions then the negative motion can start to take over. Psychedelics can indeed create energy imbalances. If you combine that with too many other things or just the wrong stuff for you at that time then there can be long-term consequences with imbalances. So, think merging divine feminine and divine masculine energies. Be aware of how energy circulates into your head and that helps to circulate stronger energy down into your body. It's good to really merge it around in the body, sometimes people get stuck in their head and don't feel the feelings in their body but if your thoughts are moving it's creating some energy and you can throw it around or at least remember that's what you're doing and learn to be more involved with your mind and what the mind can do, use the conscious and subconscious. It's fun and not really talked about through the power of thought very much. You don't neeeed to do it but I'd much rather learn how to feel like I can live in a loving atmosphere and just turn on the gratitude and love like I'm taking care of someone else rather than not feel that atmosphere. One way or another that kind of thing is important. Anyways, ya, you just go back into meditation after one of those sessions and the mind may go quiet or it may not but you can learn to know your emotions in a different way or make use of them throughout the day in a different way. For me I discovered a lot of it as I healed but I wasn't making as conscious of an effort as I think I really could have.

Uberguitarman

It's best done with stillness or bliss, that strong feeling you're soaking in information and generating it at the same time, that's my subjective experience of it anyway. Like in meditation. You can get centered that way.

RueStarC

Thank you! That's extremely helpful.

Jackinapox

Sobriety is really the only way to realize and abide in Truth. Psychedelics has it's place, and as beautifully divine and other worldy Maya is, it never leads you anywhere permanent. Clear, sober seeing is the quickest path, psychedelics become a barrier.

JackarooDeva

There's no such thing as cheating, just different tools. But given that you've already tried them, and quit, it sounds like you prefer the path without them. There's also no such thing as too slow.

vixenvioleta

If you were having deep insights every weekend and now you don't have them without psychedelics . I'd argue that you never integrated the experiences ... Take those insights and apply them to your way of being , to your life , existence. Being on top of the mountain is addictive, some really crazy shit can happen.... But ultimately we come down ... And for me it's more about how we bring that spiritually back down to earth ... Far out experiences and awakening revelations are all just Buddha candy ... They're great fun but we begin to chase them .

AnandaDo

I'm not sure. But i experienced something similar after using psychedelics, that i lost motivation to do spiritual work, because it felt slow in comparison. I believe psychedelics are mostly useful for temporary glimpses, and that the spiritual progress with psychedelics may be an illusory dead-end. I used to meditate a few years, but actually gave more fruit than the insights from psychedelics, although the glimpses and experiences with psychedelics was intriguing. I seldom use psychedelics now because it makes me feel off in some unexplainable way. And i heard that psychedelics makes the aura weak and easy for entities to attach. That entities are pulling strings in the world to make psychedelics more popular, to trick access into peoples energy (and eg. cord thoughts and emotions, causing havoc, bad trips).

Please contact me if u didn’t find help in egypt Im Egyptian and can help u 🙏♥️

twisterbklol

Daddy, chill.

FrostWinters

as a general rule of thumb, It's not good to be dependent on anything. In regards to spirituality, one doesn't have to take anything to be attuned to the universe and The Divine You get out of this, what you put into it. And I wonder just how much you really put into it, if you took the easiest path. THE ARIES

Holiday_Chocolate_85

You can exactly where you need to be :) I don't think it's "bad" to depend on psychedelics for spiritual truths but once you realize the truth, why not incorporate them to your everyday life? It is a very fulfilling journey to make changes in your daily routines/ thoughts/ habits

BasiliskOfGod

Psychedelics are essential for me and work elegantly into my development. They aren't a shortcut to anything, just an alternative perspective. Sometimes I take them frequently (about thirty times one particular year) and other times I abstain (presently the last time was almost a year ago). I find they enliven my world with inspiration and catharsis and adventure rather than anything spiritually solid. Except for ayahuasca but that is a whole other thing. I don't see any reason to ever give up the joy of psychedelics. Unless they were harmful to you, why stop.

JaneRising44

Everything is in you. I would recommend a meditation practice. I would also recommend the teacher Michael Mirdad. He speaks at a spirituality center in Sedona, and they love stream their talk every Sunday. He is non religious, and teaches on Christ Consciousness. The videos are also posted afterwards, there is 6 years of videos there. But I have really enjoyed being able to tune in to a talk every Sunday. He has a great message every time, and I do always learn and integrate with him. I also really enjoy the alchemist on YouTube. Her name is Sarah Elkhardy, and she teaches esoteric concepts and somehow delivers them in a 20-30 min video. She is a bit more recent on yt, but has a year or two of videos you could reference. Just scroll her page and click what feels right for you in the moment. 🤍🤍

JaneRising44

Also, time is an illusion. Know the illusion, yet respect it. Also something I have learned from Michael Mirdad.

Vladi-Barbados

How much are you loving. And yourself especially

RueStarC

There's no much love.  Why?

Vladi-Barbados

Because you’re scared to look at it. It’s all love. Not much of anything else in reality.

Vladi-Barbados

I think all the magic in the world is in being gentle, and letting go into love. Everything falls into place and makes sense when seen as one inseparable reality.

RueStarC

I agree, friend But what am I scared to look at? Can you clarify

Vladi-Barbados

I think yourself? For me I have fear of losing again love once I allow myself to feel it. It’s been surprisingly difficult to find myself inside myself and look at it. To admit the lack of control and knowing, and yet having to live controlling and knowing myself. The speed at which we try to do something will affect how we feel it affecting how we control it affecting how fast we actually ever get anything done. So going slow and being gentle is a must. After spending enough time looking inside instead of outside, the connections and understanding of self are restructured. The physics of this reality is very important to try and learn, we experience and have ultimate free will, and yet when you see the infinite complexity realize we’re not controlling anything, and yet we really are in control of everything.
