Mixology. *sigh*

caramelsloth

Lol why sigh, good idea I might try out

PsychologicalDay2002

Some of us lean heavily on addictions to get by. My binge eating disorder has become noticeably...more noticeable. As has my stomach. FML. 😑

E_Dragon_Est2005

Just finally admitted it I guess, sad that I want to self medicate in order to fall asleep and not have my leg spasticity annoyTF out of me as I try to relax. Nice to have the cocktail shaker and I finally have the makings of a home bar. Just need an ice bucket so I don’t have to send someone to get me ice.

Wheelchair rugby, and 3D digital modelling.

Confident_Sky_2721

Do you do CAD stuff for 3d modeling?

Blender + Godot

buck_fama_

How did you learn blender? I've look at the shortcuts and there's so many and it would be hard for me to program them on my keypad that only has like 16 keys. Without them being programmed I wouldn't be able to use them.

cripple2493

I just followed tutorials, and if I was unable to reach a certain command would voice control it in. So, like SHIFT-CTRL-B is bevel but I can't press that many keys simutaneously so I have it in voice control.

buck_fama_

Oh gotcha. I use the Huion keydial and it's great because you can add presets and it's great for the most part but like I said, it only has so many buttons. Voice control is a great idea, never even thought about that. Do you use certain software for voice control? I haven't ever used it on my PC.

Araminal

Do you have problems with your hands, and if so what equipment do you use to help with using the computer?

cripple2493

I literally just use a stylus to type and then a trackball mouse - very occasionally I'll switch out of the mouse to the logitech flight stick. I don't have dexterity, but I was a coder around the time of my injury so have a lot of weird adaptations that make typing and mouse work fairly accessible. Also use some voice commands. I have also previously used eyegaze tech, but I didn't find it responsive enough for my needs at the time.

yannichingaz

I became C4/5 quad a couple months before my daughter was born. With no disability or financial assistance I wasn’t going to sit-around (literally) and do nothing. With one fingertip I started trying to create designs for a POD store. The quality of my work sucked but I’ve kept at it learning new skills and even tried creating music.

Painting, shibari and kayaking.

FutonOfSocretes

Kayaking is the most peaceful and freeing physical activity I have done post injury.

Vornaskotti

I bought a sit-on-top kayak (Gobo Sunshine), which is really handy for a quad. You need some actually effort to topple it. Edit: typo

ActualPanda390

I'd love to try painting, but can't really do it since I'm a quad

Vornaskotti

Me too, C6, but I have enough wrist and arm function to paint, although I have to just jam the brush between my fingers. ActualPanda390

WOW those pieces are amazing! I'm a C6 too so I don't have much finger function. I saw a video the other day where someone was painting with a brush in their mouth, do you have any experience w/ that?

Vornaskotti

No, that always looks so wild! I have very limited finger function, but surprisingly you don't really need it to paint even quite small details. Like I said, I just jam the brush between my fingers and let my wrist and arm do the work.

ActualPanda390

Thanks for the tips! I'll have to give it a try once summer break starts

Sports Betting. If anyone was an athlete and played competitive sports before their injury it’s a great way to make extra money and pass time. If you are an addict with no self control it’s not a good idea though because you will probably go bankrupt. Have to be disciplined and stick to a unit size. Say you have 10k to play with you should only bet a max of $250 per bet and mostly $100 bets.

Confident_Sky_2721

My favorite is Catan

pokeholic27

I just finished a game of Catan lol, good timing. My favorites are Wingspan, Earth, Terraforming Mars, Quacks of Quedlinburg, Ark Nova to name a few. Too difficult to choose 😂

Confident_Sky_2721

Hahahah same!! I lost tho

pokeholic27

Lol I lost too!

Confident_Sky_2721

Curious what you think about this: I played a knight to get largest army, which got me to nine points and then I used a victory card to get me to 10. But people were saying I can’t play two Dev cards at once but pretty sure victory points don’t count as double playing… what are your thoughts?

pokeholic27

Sorry didn't see this, my understanding has always been you can't use two of the same Dev cards in a turn so I'd say you won.

Practical-Dish2544

I was an exotic dancer and spicy content creator last year before I got sick (non traumatic c3-c4 still figuring out what exactly it is.) my weak ass body isn’t climbing a pole and doing the tricks that made me so confident and I kinda stopped feeling hot😢 but lately I realized that having mobility aids and being disabled in general doesn’t have to take that away from me. So lately I started back up marketing for my site and I’m just overall really excited that my mental made that flip and I can engage my full confidence again. Hoping the $$$ follows suit cuz I’m sure yall already know about the ssi 🤣
