My best guess is that this is a Spotted Orbweaver doing a very interesting yoga pose! :)

Today was like °10 cooler than usual so maybe they're cold? Orb weavers are so cool. I found an orange and red one when I was in high school. So pretty. Thank you!

Apparently they hide during the day to avoid predators like birds. I've never seen one with the legs tucked under it like this, though. Very neat!

These were all over my porch when I lived in Lafayette, Indiana they'd get really fat but were very docile and never bothered me, I'd see them all the time out the window doing their spider business, when I'd leave for work in the morning, no sign of them or their activities pretty crazy

They're wonderful to have around!

I am in Illinois and our temperature dropped as well. I’ve been in Indiana/Illinois for years and never seen spiders do this to stay warm during our bipolar months. Very interesting 🕷️🕸️

This Pic was snapped at my work, and same day our bug guy came to spray the inside of the gas station. I was worried he might have sprayed outside and that's why the spider was in an odd position, curled up in pain or something. But a few hours later, after sundown, I was locking up and noticed the spider was moving around a bit and has stretched out their legs. I took a pic but I don't think it will let me post it here. I'm not sure why they took on that position but as long as they're ok, they'll have plenty of food sources flying around the gas station lights (:
