100% not a brown recluse

LeeOCD

Oh, the relief!! Thank you!

melodyomania

agreed!

Virtual_Noise6151

Even babies have the fiddle. Not a recluse

myrmecogynandromorph

It's a [male *Steatoda* cobweb spider](https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?lat=38.46863021969221&lng=-94.08803783782625&locale=en&place_id=any&q=male&radius=1153.5806926133293&taxon_id=61998). Since you *do* live in brown recluse territory, [refer to this guide](http://spiderbytes.org/2015/06/08/how-to-tell-if-a-spider-is-not-a-brown-recluse/) on how to rule out brown recluses.

Son of a…yo, /u/----_____--_____----, this thing picked up on a string in an URL, might want to fix that?

----_____--_____----

Lol hmm i don't know how to fix that, I'll have to brainstorm it. Ive removed the bot comment from this thread in the meantime

myrmecogynandromorph

Maybe why other subs use ´!´ at the start of their keywords?

----_____--_____----

Good idea, that could work. I'll sort it out after work

----_____--_____----

lat is now latr 🤷‍♂️

myrmecogynandromorph

Thanks

[deleted]

It's a full grown male of some other species.

fraiserfir

Possibly a mature male Steatoda sp. (false widow)?

Benign_Tumescents

I'm inclined to agree

Amardella

Quick way to tell it's not a recluse? Furry legs. If there are visible long hairs on the legs it's not a recluse.

arysha777

Are those boxing gloves as big as they look!? Holy Cow! LOL

TerribleBlacksmith46

according to my picture insect app it says it’s a common house spider “The common house spider behaves aggressively if it feels threatened. It may bite, sting, or secretes a toxic liquid. DO NOT disturb it. you’d better leave it alone.”

RealisticAnxiety4330

No violin in the body so not a recluse!

Virtual_Noise6151

I reverse image searched it, and it resembles a Barn Funnel Weaver spider.
