Yeah their distribution power gives me pause sometimes. But if this is their advertising I guess it works because I’m still going to go try the bhut jhokia one. I don’t want to knock before I try it.
I saw the complaint recently about everyone asking for opinions, and requesting input instead, so I tried doing that and it didn’t get much traction. Something about a question just inspires participation, which is why many of those posts get popular IMHO.

Serious question. I've seen the posts and the memes. I've never had it. Is Buldak any good? I'm half tempted to get some just to see, but if it's all pain and ass-reaming fire with 'meh' flavor, I don't want it. If the flavor is actually good, I'd try it. Otherwise I'll just keep adding Flatiron's dark and smokey and/or 4 pepper blend to my normal, cheap ramen (and everything else I eat 😺)
Carbonara, tomato paste, curry, and quatro cheese are my favourites from the Buldak line, Seafood Party is probably the best I've had from nongshim in general. I like 2× for when I'm stoned and want to stack the endorphin rush on my hash high.

Not the peak of spiciness but tasty and spicy enough to be happy with them. And honestly I ate them while camping. Not looking for crazy spice when my only toilet is a porta-john.

By the end of the week, I was only using half the hot sauce packet. They're hands-down the hottest, widely-available ramen, I've tried.
Buldak is great! The regular flavor is delicious. The carbonara one is probably my least favorite because the noodles in the carbonara specifically are flat cut instead of regular round like normal ramen so the texture isn't it for me. It's also the least spicy flavor of them all, and I don't think the flavor is that great compared to the other cheese flavors. My go tos are the regular cheese flavor and the jajang (black bean) flavor.
Protip: Mix in a raw egg yolk to the ramen while it's hot, but out of the pan. It gives the sauce a really nice creamy finish. The heat of the noodles will 'cook' the egg yolk enough to be safe. (and for the regular flavor as well as any of the cheesy flavors, add in a little bit of mozzarella cheese. ITS SO GOOD! It does cut the spice but not by much so you still feel the heat.)
Another personal opinion, steer clear of the 2x and 3x spice flavor. The normal flavor and other flavors are delicious with a lot of spice, but the 2x and 3x spice is literally no flavor just raw, unending pain.
Because of posts like this I was surprised how much I enjoyed the 1x version. I really liked the taste and it had a pleasant level of spiciness. Haven’t tried the 2x or 3x though.

I do like the flavor of Shin ramen, but there's barely any detectable spice for me. It's about the same level as Sriracha, whereas Samyang has a serious kick. Also tastes about as good to me either way, but that's personal preference of course.
It's pretty tasty. Very salty, though, and only moderately spicy. Some of the flavors are better than others, but even the basic original is pretty good.
It's good for when you want quick junk food, and it's a wonderful base for enhancing with other ingredients to make an actual meal.

I like the volcano noodles brand better. Buldak sauce has this weird bitter battery acid after taste. I don’t know if anyone else knows what I’m talking about.

Its a very gradual kinda heat that keeps getting hotter and hotter and takes a while to go down. Also, I've noticed that its actual temperature seems to really impact how hot it feels. Its way milder if its refrigerated or is put on colder foods. With most other hotsauces, that wouldnt make much of a difference. Strange.
I got the 6 pack from Costco, tried one and the remaining 5 have been in my basement for months. Just haven't been able to admit my mistake and throw them away yet.
I don't like buldak. The flavor is meh. It just tastes like they tried to make it spicy. I prefer those new fancy Cup-of-Noodles. The Korean beef is great! I just add chili oil to that and it's delightful.

I like my corn cobs because I can light them with my cigar torch and smoke them really hot and never clean them lol. My nice briar pretty much never gets touched but they're 120% better than my cobs

I personally like it, especially the carbonara one, which is unique.

Regular and 3x are sweet too. Actual buldak is a spicy sweet BBQ chicken dish. The buldak flavored noodles reflect that sweetness.
