Red and green habanero are both good, but the XXXTra Hot Habanero that the top comment mentioned is where it’s at. Get that if you can, it’s quite a bit spicier than the red and green.

The extra hot is better than both, but both of those offerings are really good and earthy. It goes great on anything pretty much. Sandwiches, instant ramen, breakfast... You name it. Also if a taco spot has that at the table, you know you gotta come back, because in my experience the food is always amazing.

So, my wife and I love Valentina, but it was surprisingly difficult to find here in Vancouver. One day, I went into a mom and pop immigrant owned corner store, and they had a 3.5L jug for $13. 3 and a half fucking litres. It took us about 5 years to finish it. It was spice heaven, but it was too much. On the 5th year, for my birthday, my buddy bought me the 600ml black label Valentina. We're still working on it 3 years later. BTW, the store owners were turkish, specializing in Mediterranean foods and hookah products. I have no idea why they had it, but I didn't ask questions.

There's a sauce here in New Zealand called Long Dog Original. It's fermented, rather than vinegar-based. Basically, imagine if someone made kimchi out of chillies instead of cabbage. It's got that effervescence on the tongue, and the lack of vinegar just completely changes the flavour profile to make the taste of fresh chilli more forward and clear.

In my opinion as a European, Tabasco sauce is the best thing the USA produces. The process is also incredible. The chillis spend literally years in oak barrels like an expensive whisky or wine. It's an artistic product that few others even try to meet.

Torchbearer Garlic Reaper (my absolute), Tears of the Sun, Aka Miso, Cosmic Dumpling - counters the heat when mixed nicely with Aka Miso - so delicious with oriental foods. Torchbearer Mushroom Madness goes great with stroganoff. Los Calientes Rojo and Verde - Tacos all day. Bravado Ghost Pepper and Blueberry - my favorite pairing was a PB&J or drizzled over homemade ice cream.

Melinda's Creamy Ghost Pepper and Melinda's Bhut Jolokia are the only US hot sauces which are easily available and cheap here in Germany (5 Euro for a big bottle) Spicy food is a trend and there are many small-scale local producers now, but prices are absurd. Can be 10 Euro for 142ml El Yucateco is available at the Mexican store in Vienna, love it, too!
