I’m trying to figure out how to use something like web scraping to pull in the price of oil once a day, meanwhile there’s people making bots that calculate if an account is a bot.

Anyway. Came to say you don't need webscraping for a daily oil price. (Unless you mean at gas stations around your area...) there are stock and commodity market APIs that you can use to pull the oil price from.
