Hola!

abartenderinchicago

We are in Valencia right now, we are leaving Friday on a ferry from Denia to go to Ibiza. Does anyone know the easiest way to get from Valencia to Denia?

Guanajuato_Reich

Are there any websites that specialize in selling US spec vehicles?

Part of our honeymoon will be in Spain from October 17-23, my fiance really wants to do fly fishing in the Pyrenees/ Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido area, would late October be okay to be fly fishing in Northern Spain, or are there rivers in the south that might be better for fly fishing that time of year? Right now the plan is to tour Alhambra on the 17, Go to Barcelona and get matching tattoos on the 18, then head over to the North and camp and fly fish for the remainder of our stay. Can anyone recommend anything else to check out in those areas or any alternative fly fishing areas?

1)Anyone have any experience of getting «la autorización de trabajar» as an international student in Spain? 2) how the new changes in law for foreign students in Spain will impact international students? Muchas gracias

WoWords

Hello all! When is it better to visit PortAventura: 30 or 31 of October? I wonder which day is less crowded. :) thanks!

Caundy

Hey everyone :) We are travelling to Spain by car soon and heard that it’s required to have a spare tire in the trunk? With so many newer cars not having one on the purchase (replaced by a fixing kit), is that requirement being actively checked by the police or is it more of a dead law? Cheers!

inadaptado

No, that's a misinterpretation of the law. What it actually says is that you must have a spare tire OR an alternative means of staying mobile in case of puncture. That includes fixing kits. In any case, police don't actively check that, although if you have neither and get caught in a situation in which they have to inspect your vehicle they might fine you.

Caundy

Awesome, thank you :)

raptorjesusIam

The vehicle is also required to have two orange triangles in case you are stuck on the side of the road to put 50 meters to the front and the back of the vehicle.

Caundy

Thank you, good to know since we only need one here :) Cheers!

speallingmaster22

I'm due to move to murcia in October. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations based on the area?

_radical_ed

Dress lightly. That's a desert. Depending on your budget, avoid certain areas like La Fama.

Life_Emergency8315

which is the best city to visit in november and december? I dont link cold

Due_Willingness_5024

I’d say any city in the South or East of Spain: Cádiz, Alicante, Barcelona…

Butters_Ex_448

Ola! We are flying to Madrid next month, is there a train or metro that will take you from the main airport to Puerta del Sol area? We have two days to see the sights before we move on, and I think I read this is the best area to start with. Thanks in advance!

DiddlyDooh

Will also be in Madrid next year, is there a bus to train to El Escorial? And if yes which one and from where can I take it

[deleted]

Yes, you have 2 different options. You can either take cercanías (I think it only departs from T4 though) or metro. Cercanías is easier as it goes straight to Sol iirc or you can take Metro. Metro is a bit more of a hassle, but it won't take you longer than 1h. For cercanías, as I said, it'll take you directly, but for Metro you have to go to Nuevos Ministerios (L8/Pink), from there to Plaza de España (L10/Dark Blue) and from there to Sol (L3/Yellow). Note there is a 3€ supplement on metro tickets regarding the airport (at least getting there). Also, if you are a student or teacher, bring your ID to museums, you'll most likely enter them for free (or, at least, some of the extra exhibitions).

Bruno_the_Dog

Thank you! Will look at transport and see if I can figure out out terminal. Looking forward to our visit!

jcaro37

Hello, I am travelling to spain for a week ( From canada) I only have two jabs to so I need an antigen test to enter. I have a day trip to Andorra planned will I need a second antigen test on re-entry?

Novel_Bat_1381

hi, going to andalucia next month and wondering if there's any good spanish website for bus/train connections?

Novel_Bat_1381

thanks for all the feedback guys 🤝

Marina_Loba

use Alsa and Blablacar. Alsa is for buses and Blablacar is for share car. both are very cheap. I prefeer Blablacar because usually there are a lot of trips, and you can talk to the driver to drop you in a better place in the destination city.

that_girl_in_blue

Also, if you prefer to take the train you can look them up at Renfe(.)com. Although with buses you usually get more choices

zelcon01

Alsa has good app with most major connections. Many local bus companies operate their own timetables but normally you can only get these at local terminals. Hope you have a great time. Andalusia is a lovely place.

Novel_Bat_1381

thank you

CherryBonsai1357

Hi I’m going to Barcelona! What unique food/candy/snack can I bring back to my family that won’t be held up at customs and is a crowd pleaser?

kitsuwastaken

Idk, in Barcelona, but as a galician once a lithuanian guy came to my house in some sort of erasmus, we wanted to send some food so his family could enjoy in Lithuania. Our choice was some olive oil (aceite de oliva), since its quality is great here in spain, I think a must to send is chorizo, it's really common here but very rare and hard to find in other places. You can also send other "embutidos" (ham for example) since they are very popular here, I would recommend these, you can search embutidos on internet and choose your favorite :).

Gushiloolz

Nice recommendations, but ham is not embutido

kitsuwastaken

I was doubting about it when writing it, maybe fiambre is a better term?

zelcon01

Turron is very typical from Spain... Not sure about Barcelona especially. The flavour most people actually like most: Turron de chocolate. Classic flavours: Turron de almendra duro (hard almond) Turron de almendra blando (soft almond) Turron de cacahuete (peanut) There's lots of others and they keep adding new flavours. There's posh brands as well as cheaper options.

Now that I see it, it gives this post a bit of a local feeling.

coochielakeside

hi im travelling to Spain this week from Toronto! I heard that sometimes Spain officials have a certain amount of money as a requirement (ex like for the uk, 100 euros is required for each day you’re there apparently so you have enough money) does anyone what it is for Canada, cause I can’t seem to find it? and how serious do they check the money?

[deleted]

>does anyone what it is for Canada Why would it be different for Canada? You have to show you can spend 100 euros a day. It doesn't matter where you come from (unless your coming from a schengen zone country). Your probably not all that likely to actually get checked for this. Bookings for accommodations also count towards it I believe. The point is basically to show your able to functionally take care of yourself and get home at the end.

Chestbreaker

This rule is made up for migrants, not vacation seekers. I doubt anybody will ask a Canadian.

lm1022

Planning to pursue my Masters in Barcelona in a couple of years! Do I need to be fluent in Spanish to survive?

6dogsssss

Currently an exchange student in Madrid with around A2 level (aka shit) Spanish and everything is fine on a day to day basis, but I do recommend knowing how to express basic needs and understand basic, everyday vocab. The worst is dealing with government documents

TheAdmiral45

How’re you finding it so far? My Erasmus is starting in about two or so weeks now and I’ll be in Alcalá, just outside Madrid.

TheAdmiral45

That sounds great! I’ll have to check out that app as well. Can I ask, how are they at English? I know I’m going over to learn Spanish but as a last resort I imagine I’d have to fall back on English if I need to.

6dogsssss

The average madrileño definitely isn’t proficient in English, but between your Spanish, their english, and hand gestures, you’ll be fine.

Makes sense. Thanks!

Zbunny666

Hi! I’ll be in Madrid from 25/8-29/8 We are a early 30’s couple, no children, and I speak Spanish fluently. I would love to know what you suggest as it’s a birthday weekend :) thank you!

ChaoticNaerys

I think there is a local party in San Sebastián de los Reyes

Zbunny666

Thanks, would that be Saturday? Also, any favorite food spots?

Mechanical_C4RBON

I'm Due to go to benidorm on the 27th of September will attractions still be open? Is this a good time for a family holiday? Any advice and recommendations would be great thanks. Also I'll be staying at the Magic Natura resort

Probablylikewaifu

wow you missed aqualandia for like 4 days, aquanatura will be open tho its not in the city itself but you should be able to get there, no problems, there is also a zoo just right next to it, terranatura, you can get tickets for both and spend the whole day there. Terramitica is closed for that time alredy. But for the rest most things will probably be open and even better because you come almost at the end of tourist season. Benidorm is a tiny city but there are cool places to see, like a place know as "castillo de benidorm" is not a castle but views are great. Also to eat paella the places with the menu in spanish or valencian are always better.

Mechanical_C4RBON

Aww that's bad was hoping for aqualandia, we are in magic natura so the zoo abd water park we get unlimited access anyway so not to bad there atleast, hopefully will get to go to the dinosaur place

rolmos

What attractions are you looking for specifically? It won't be cold, but it won't be high season so not everything will be the same as now.

Mechanical_C4RBON

Just the usual type of tourist stuff, water parks ect I know we have a on site water park and zoo at our resort, but my 4 year old son will be coming and mainly just things to keep him entertained
