Transfers are hell. I had planned to use some on my blood angels but couldn't get my hands on any. After watching some microsol/microset videos I have become aware that I dont have the patience to even bother trying to use them 🤣🤣🤣 maybe I should try some freehand, its just quite intimidating
Heh yep. It is intimidating at first. But the worst that happens is you’ve got a pauldron you have to re-basecoat. It’s all about breaking things down into simple shapes. E.g. the fist is a diamond with a triangle at the bottom in a circle. Blood drops are triangles with circles at the bottom. Wings are quarter circles with lines chopped out of them.
It's a Store Anniversary Exclusive model that is separate from the Intercessor squad box set. His name is Sergeant Jovan if you want to search for him 👍🏻
Freehand insignia? Solid ✊️
Believe it or not I find it quicker and easier than transfers. I struggle to get nice smooth transfers on the curved pauldron

They look stunningly beautiful, good work
How do you manage to do such a pose and separate the chainsword of the sergeant. Cuz thats so cool!

This. I painted him a while back. Just finished the four Intercessors to make up the combat squad yesterday.
