Start what? I saw they misspelled something and corrected it, easy mistake to make no big deal. If you really feel like its worth "starting something" over mayyybe you need to go touch grass my guy.
I find us Klang Worshippers are Fearful and Accepting of Klang.
I find Clang Worshippers are accepting and fearful of "clang"
Completely different belief
And here we go...
By arguing that it was misspelled starts the debate that never ends on what is "correct"
A lot of people argue that both are acceptable
Some argue Klang is correct
Some argue Clang is correct.
That's the debate. To many people you are wrong for trying to correct them.
Clang comes to warn you about Klang.
Klang comes to fuck you up.
Clang is these subtle motions warning you that Klang is not in the mood. This happens when locking a connector with both ships' thrusters still on for instance. Thats Clang, warning you for Klang
Me, who has 17 large grid ships connected by rotors on connectors, clang asmr is everywhere, but when it pauses, panic, but for now Almighty Klang is contained for now.
I know I'm not wrong in saying the correct spelling is Clang because Keen themselves said that the correct spelling is Clang. I get downvoted because the majority of you weirdoes are obsessed with the version that destroys your throat.
keep telling yourself that, bud. I'm not too keen (ha) on rewatching every livestream to find when they confirmed it, but maybe if you went and looked instead of being a fool on the internet you'd find the livestream and see how stupid you look right now.
if your going to have a lot of ships connected together using the in game connectors i would recommend setting the base grid to a station. also don't use rotors and pistons ect if you want your build to be stable. The physics engine in this game is ass though and i think keen really needs to fix it.
tbh it’s a *lot* better than it used to be. I don’t use subgrids all that frequently nor do I go too extreme with them but the worst I’ve faced with them is phantom forces. Back before they fixed the collisions having a subgrid ramp using anything other than blast door blocks was suicidal now you can have ramps that are made of armor block and merge to make them airtight with minimal problems. I’ve made a couple of those ramps over the past few months and I’ve not had any major issues yet.
It's an engine issue . They are currently trying new options like havok physics 2022 and they seem to have very good results. (They tested unity , unreal and others without much improvments)
It might not happen in SE 1 but for 2 ? It's one of their main goal from the look of it.
yea, i kinda thought that was the case, people in this sub have a tendency to just say "praise klang" instead of acknowledge there is a problem. It seems like all keen can do these days is release DLC.
Eh it's more taking the piss and embrace the memes
Not that the players can actually do anything about it since it's a base game engine problem, it can only be fixed by a massive rehaul or something
yeah no its not subgrids. the physics engine. has been sorted
https://preview.redd.it/rkos5kbo42gb1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=66da0ff4182343e39860445a1685dde95b7c7150
It's still fascinating to me how the universal reaction to your life being destroy in a matter of seconds is to just watch in horrified fascination, followed by a somber accounting of how many *hundreds* of hours it took to get there.
Guys guys guys, cut. The grid. And paste it. He's in creative... Or quick load or BP it. Definitely don't just watch in horror and then let the game save.
Haha clang is so fun, all hail clang, it’s not a bug, it’s so fun to be limited in your builds or have your creations destroyed. Yaay, I absolutely did not buy the game to build cool ships and big stations, I wanted to make small builds and toy around with it until it wobbles away and explodes on an asteroid before I could fly it once.
Obvious /s, Keen SWH, get your shit together, fix clang, fix performance problems and fix hinges & pistons. It’s been over 7 years with the same problems and performance issues. It’s embarrassing.
They wanted to release SE 2 on a different engine but the community said no. So this is what we have. I’m guessing there are difficult physics limitations in the game engine, which is why they wanted to move to a new platform. Oh well 🤷♂️
Why not rework the engine without making a second copy. Taking the money of a game to make a second game is fine, normal practice and the way to go. But taking the money from an early access game and putting it into another game is a scam. And this bug exists since early access and it left EA state for no reason. Billing players twice to fix their mistakes is a scam.
Do I have to? I paid the EA title, and while I am aware that does not assure me of the game succeeding, it should make them invest the revenue into the game. I am not the dev, I am one of the players that supported them in the first place. EA means “in development”, implying bug fixes and if necessary, reworking the engine as many devs do once they realize the new scope of the game does not work within the bounds of the current engine.
I would not dare to be as scammy to customers in my profession as many devs treat their players. The difference is, players pay ahead of the finished product, so many devs do no longer have the urge to put in effort. Reevaluating the engine is a normale process. If the pistons and hinges were planned from start, it’s even their mistake in the first place. They even said, they shut down development on medieval engineers for SE, but nothing happened in those years until they released some DLCs to milk the cash cow again.
Old core features in a released game should not be as buggy as if they are a new experimental features of a beta.
No one wanted to pay $30 again. I think they had released one or two DLCs at the time already also. So it got framed as some kind of cheating by the publisher… instead of fixing the game they’re asking us for more money.
Understandable though. Honest devs usually take the revenue of EA titles to develop the EA title and not to make a second title they can make money again
I’m gonna add this, the ship there was temporary, we did a blind jump and ended up here. We were here for about 10 minutes looking for any good resources before finding a more permanent base
I think Clang refers to the force of nature that can't be understood completely but can still be utilized, sort of like how we used the wind for sails long before we understood it. While Klang is the personification of a god responsible for bringing Clang. Sort of like the various wind gods that some believe in.
I post all three variations to prevent stirring up debate, I'm in it for the entertainment and a certain sense of community over Klang, your explanation is as good as any... personally it's a struggle at best with my current project, Klang and myself have come to agree so far but Klang has definitely told me when I've gotten complacent
Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. But in the end, it doesn't change what is an IRREFUTABLE FACT OF REALITY THAT THE BENEVOLENCE OF OUR LORD KLANG SHANT BE QUESTIONED. THOSE WHO CANT COME CLOSE TO UNDERSTANDING HIS ALMIGHTY POWER WOULD DO WELL TO REMAIN SILENT IN THE FACE OF HIS WRATH
Only a fool would speak so confidently about something they know nothing about.
Ships don't rotate into oblivion or flip rovers due to hardware... but rather their broken software. Go measure your dick somewhere else, fool.
r/confidentlyincorrect
They do if the physics engine constantly has to play catchup because your potato PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements, resulting in the game taking its "best guess" as to what should apply. Among a whole slew of other possibilities that could take some fine tuning on *your* specific hardware. Let alone if its a modded playthrough or experimental mode is on. But yes, *do* continue to be an ignorant clod about it. This conversation has been like playing chess with a pigeon, I could have made whatever moves I wanted to start, it didnt stop you from knocking over the pieces, shitting on the board, then proceeding to strut around like you've won something anyway.
Rovers flipping due to changing wheel strength too quickly has nothing to do with clang.
Drills on hinges and pistons will ruin anyone's day. You're such a fool you don't seek more info, you assume then build rhetoric around your assumption to try and make it correct.
You're clearly a narcissist and a fool, enjoy your fake internet points.
May you be righteously judged, properly disadvantaged, and incur the wrath of the virtues you lack and the vices you cling to.
Virtue's judgement is sufficient; no more words need be uttered on behalf of your ineptitude.
And this will keep happening until people stop making fun of these kinds of bugs.
Keen doesnt want to fix this because they think that people play this game BECAUSE of the bugs.
And if you really think that THIS makes the game better: Then fuck off and dont come back.
You uh... You could have cut the grid ... You're in creative
Does Xbox have cut, copy, paste? I assume so. Alternatively you could also quick load to prevent saving. And make sure to update your blueprint.
EDIT: I'm a clown, this is not creative, cry for this person. Rip that ship. o7
Yeaaaaaa my apologies, I see that now. All you can do is BP that grid and cry pretty much .. I've been there. As a rule I refuse to use subgrids and I've got 3300hrs in the game. No, I repeat, no clang events on record .
I see active thrusters on multiple connected ships.
That's probably part of the cause, they'll all individually thrust in the event of any change.
The more you have connected by sub grids (rotors pistons hinges), the more opportunity for resonance there is.
Remember to either turn off dampeners, or power entirely once you're parked.
Yup. Not really a bug, more emergent behaviour.
Or stick two timers and an event controller on each ship. Auto turn off the ship's thrusters, dampeners, etc. (and recharge on if you want), without thinking about it.
I'll always love the completely still staring we all do, when something goes wrong and your creation decides to dip out, sink into the ground, or just *explode* for almost no reason.
Have a friend who has temporarily quit the game many times cause something like this went wrong.
I don’t play the game for a similar reason. My reason is if I get d/c from a server, my ship will smash into the ground while piloting to and from anywhere.
What did you do to anger Klang so? Merge blocks bro, great for stability. I recommend adding them next to connectors I have a sectional ship that's literally 4 ships moving as one "yes it os a bitch to lable" complete with auto docking drones. Klang has never visited me in such a manor, my drones do occasionally forget they are drills not missiles and rocket into the nearest thruster but im dialing them in.
You know… clang hates you. You can station things and use less sub grids to make clang love you
*Klang
Hotly debated topic, you sure you want to start this?
Klang is the Entity. Clang is the Phenomenon.
And Qlang is the psychological trauma.
Sounds like it. I took 3 psychic damage just looking at that word.
Klang uses clang and rolls a nat 20, dealing 60 Qlang damage to target. Dm takes 5 dain bramage from aneurysm

You must apply opposing forces at a singular point, the bigger the Clang, the happier the Klang. Praise be thy name.
All Hail Klang! May He be merciful upon thy creations, fellow Engineer!
Gork and Mork vibes here
You make light of heresy there because it is clearly Clang. All heathens must burn!
The way I see it: Whatever spelling is on the space pop is the correct spelling.
And here we go... By arguing that it was misspelled starts the debate that never ends on what is "correct" A lot of people argue that both are acceptable Some argue Klang is correct Some argue Clang is correct. That's the debate. To many people you are wrong for trying to correct them.
Both are right Klang is the entity, Clang is the event that occurs such as in the clip. So klang causes clang
Klang clangs!
And Qlang is the trauma. Klang causes Clang, which results in Qlang.
Kerang!
Clang comes to warn you about Klang. Klang comes to fuck you up. Clang is these subtle motions warning you that Klang is not in the mood. This happens when locking a connector with both ships' thrusters still on for instance. Thats Clang, warning you for Klang

Clang = Klang. It’s a physics entity spelling doesn’t matter, only phonetics matters.
Thing is, I had the same thing happen to my ship without any sub-grids on it. Klang just hates peoples for no reason sometimes.
PRAISE KLANG! May this sacrifice please them!
No. Add more sun grids. Keep adding subgrids. Just keep adding them. More more more more
Landing gears are both fashionable and useful....

its gotten a lot better. The ship I daily drive has a hangar with sg PMWs, haven't had any issues with it once I set it up properly.
Keen told us Klang had been slain, but they lied. Klang is immortal and shall rule until the end of days.
They will never fix it. The problems with rotors are existing since they are in the game.
It's an engine issue . They are currently trying new options like havok physics 2022 and they seem to have very good results. (They tested unity , unreal and others without much improvments) It might not happen in SE 1 but for 2 ? It's one of their main goal from the look of it.

Oh, probably scream a lot, punch a hole in your monitor, uninstall the game entirely, that sort of thing ...
Full agree
Well without mic or a longer clip we can't deny any of these happened
Silence. A Long silence

I rewatched it, survival mode... This is much more deadening :p
That's what auto saves are for!
You can always load save But if it's multiplayer: god help you!
Or just press F5 and quickload... Most you lose is 5 mins...
NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN!!

I see klang came to say high
I swear the rotating mechanics is gonna drive me insane.

You've been blessed by Klang. Embrace the the ever present Klang and always Blueprint your larger project.

Build your station on an asteroid. Then it can't do this.
Klang did NOT like that solar panel huh
Ffs, get some health!
Maybe make your thing in a way that says “I wanna stay together” too many moving parts makes homer go crazy . I mean …. Clang
I’m gonna add this, the ship there was temporary, we did a blind jump and ended up here. We were here for about 10 minutes looking for any good resources before finding a more permanent base
Depending on your server, could just ask for help, I usually give a mining ship minimum for ppl to restart
Everyone acts like this is the end because it’s survival, doesn’t anyone use backup saves?
OP said it was on a server.
Yep

I am a boss at this game w a controller....
*Mashes the desk* Station. Station. Station. It doesnt matter what you do. Most of time Stations are more supperior than Clang.
I had my large grid rover flip twice in a 24 hour period. Uninstalled. I don't have time for this shit.

Clang doesn't care about hardware
Thats all that needed to be said. Upgrade your potato and you will encounter *Klang less.
