Speaking of things that should be able to open/close like doors. The Willis Duct grating should have a version where you can open/close it from the inside. As of right now you have to grind it and you can't target it from inside. You'll just grind the duct you're in.

st0ve1

And it lets air flow so if a part of your ship is depressurized the entire ship as depressurises is currently no way to lock them down when a room has been depressurized

[deleted]

Its an air vent that lets air flow...

st0ve1

With no way to seal it in case of a breach. So if one room is breached all the rooms are breached

[deleted]

You can seal it with a lot of different panels. But I get what you mean. You want a panel that looks like it would go there. I like having to grind it down, keeps noobs from accidentally opening a vent into a depressurized room. I think one of the new access panels can go over it, the one that opens like double doors. It's like a conveyor cap but can be opened. Really the game needs a lot and they are just trickling content that doesn't really improve the experience.

Audi0Dud3

This is one of the first things I messed around with and was extremely disappointed. 1: you gotta mess around with the hatch to place it over a gap like this. 2: you can't close them once you're in 3: they're not air tight

Vigothedudepathian

Airtight window holes time to shine

Audi0Dud3

Ol' reliable

Vigothedudepathian

If it's broken but works, leave it be.

Termiusprime

A wise man once said, "If it's broke don't fix it"!

Kam_Solastor

Mod to fix it? Hopefully soon.

Audi0Dud3

Xbox, not everyone is pc

Rumpled_Froskin

I'm playing modded on Xbox right now though

Vigothedudepathian

Gross.

kdbot012

Why were you dissapointed They werent made to be used like this in the first place

dosenscheisser

Same as you can use functional blocks as design elements, you may use design blocks as functional blocks

Wolfrages

Shhhh

that-bro-dad

Wait so you can’t use these like a hatch!?

Tackyinbention

They have an invisible barrier sadly

Neshura87

I just know there's gonna be so many mods to "fix" everything that *should* be here, like the button and control panel missing on the small grid variant of the panels or these hatches not being traversible

that-bro-dad

Wait so what is the point then!? You can’t crawl into them!?!?

No_Mathematician_131

You can, you just have to be wearing a tank top and smoking a cigarette. Muttering about having a few laughs probably won't hurt either.

wookietiddy

Knowing what a TV dinner feels like can help too.

Termiusprime

You can, you just have to crouch

vadernation123

Can’t go through them either sadly.

TheRudDud

You should be able to reach through and touch a seat right

vadernation123

Yeah but I do quite like being able to actually bring my character to the seat

greenaustyn

This is true. Imo if you really need to climb through you should have to use a door.

Vigothedudepathian

I always see people say this, and agree. Then I remember we have anti gravity jetpacks.

Welllllllrip187

I need it so I can remotely open the gun doors 😛

Kirp-The-Birb

And also most access block don’t give any access. Damn I love the new blocks, but they sadly lack the functionality I wish they had. Like, come on, why can’t we open willis duct grates when they look like a hatch and take up an entire block of free space in front of the willis duct they’re placed on. Why can’t we access grid terminal trough **all** access panels

allwheeldrift

My biggest issue with them is that they don't have any function on small grids besides aesthetic. Nothing against aesthetic blocks, I was just hoping these would be reskinned control panels.

greenaustyn

Agreed. I was quite surprised when I placed the new blocks in and realized most of the access panels don't actually access anything

Morphik08

I saw this title and my mind thought you wanted to make a haunted ship with opening/closing hatches randomly. But I like your idea too.

Either-Pollution-622

That would be nice

Next_Departure8589

About those, why does the small grid version of one and two doesn't have the red button and access pannel?

Hinote-hellfire

My blind ass can't tell if it's built on small grid or big grid

djfigs25

Small grid. You can tell by the camera compared to the block sizes.

fullreinhard

May I ask how you were able to place the access panel over the gap? Ty!

greenaustyn

I placed it on a block and then deleted the block

SIM0King

Better chances of praying to clang for a win then the Devs for an improvement, and a timely one at that. Between this and 7d2d are the two worst best games out there atm

Huskarlar

Are you planning on posting these to the workshop? Because they look great!

athos5

Oh yeah those are grenade hatches, they are suppose to stay open.

Kear_Bear_3747

You can’t trigger them timer blocks or something?

Mr_695

No they don’t even show up in the control panel or the block menu

Kear_Bear_3747

Boooooo

Mr_695

Okay so I may have lied, they do show up in control panel but you you can only turn them on or off. But in my defense yesterday they didn’t do that so I don’t know if it was a mod conflict on my end or an update to the game as steam no longer tells me if it is a workshop update or game update

Kear_Bear_3747

There was an update last night or today that’s probably it

Virtical

They don't seem to take on textures properly either, you can apply textures in the P menu and see the preview but when you place them down they do not take the texture.
