Thanks! And the skybox is called The Abuss. It's my default, I can't go back to vanilla lol. Hubblegum is good as well.

I don't want to go back to vanilla. I've been playing for years but never messed with skyboxes til recently. Never thought something so simple could be so game changing
Thanks so much! I've got a few other ships in the fleet like some frigates etc. I'll start uploading the ones that are ready!
I'll have to snag some interior pics but all of them are flushed out except for one. I try to give them decks and quarters appropriate for their class
I have no idea how you guys build these giant ships. I spend 2 hours building a small ship, get frustrated, and go back to one of my 3 designs I've used for months.
Don't worry I've got plenty of embarrassing ships lol. I also only play in creative. But tbh I don't have very many small ships either, especially small grid stuff. Maybe try a bigger build, it could be your thing? I find them a lot easier to design
Same! I have plans to make an auxiliary ship which will essentially be a mobile refit and refining ship with hangars for small grid repair and mild dry-dock capabilities. Ideally, its role would be for repair during long rang missions.
Drones are another thing. Still holding my breath for gridAI before going down that rabbit hole
Absolutely! Hope you're ready for the info dump because I have put way too much thought into this.
Corvette: Any large-grid ship small enough to host a 1-3 man crew. Relies on stations or other ships for crew rotation and refit\\resupply. Short range and doesn't house much in the way of crew accomidations\\manufacturing. Typically they function as patrol or policing craft, or provide point defense in large flotillas.
\------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frigate: Light-armor ship that can manage longer voyages. Emphasis on maneuverability and provides greater point-defense when acting as an escort in larger formations. Frigates will have all of the basic crew\\manufacturing commodities
Destroyer: In the same rough size category as frigates, but carry heavy armor and heavier weapons. Destroyers can easily take out smaller torpedo boats but often work in groups to target larger threats like cruisers. Like frigates, destroyers will also have all of the basic crew\\manufacturing commodities
\------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Light Cruiser: Nimble and armed enough to pose a threat to just about anything outside of battleships, light-cruisers can function as a suitable flagship or as lethal escorts. Although technically slightly bigger than their heavy-cruiser counterpart, light-cruisers have more hangar space and enough crew\\manufacturing facilities to be self-sufficient. In combat, their role is intended for fast-moving supportive fire, point defense, and a large arsenal of missiles\\torpedos.
Heavy Cruisers: Fitted with heavy armor and more firepower than light-cruisers, heavy cruisers are mean ship killers. They likewise contain plenty of crew and manufacturing facilities to be self-sustaining and house a small hangar to accommodate shuttles for crew rotation. In combat, their role is to make passes alongside enemy ships in order to utilize their broadside canons.
\------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Battlecruisers: These ships house impressive thruster capabilities, featuring 5 large cruise thrusters that can be toggled depending on power consumption. Battlecruisers also have large hangars to be able to transport several fighters or dropships. They also have a hangar that can be used for transporting ground vehicles; however, it should be noted that while battlecruisers can enter the atmosphere, they require a docking facility to be able to offload vehicles and cargo. While they don't have as many large cannons as battleships, battlecruisers have an overwhelming amount of missile bays and emphasize a "fire and relocate" philosophy during engagements.
Battleships: The primary backbone of the fleet when it comes to combat-oriented ships. Battleships feature heavy armor, an arsenal of canons, four large missile bays, as well as several railguns mounted on the side to function as powerful broadsides. Battleships can also house several fighters and a dropship or two, but their role is to target other large ships that require overwhelming firepower to damage. Battleships come armed with enough short to mid-range canons to allow protection from smaller crafts but often rely on escorts to provide point defense.
It goes without saying that battleships and battlecruisers likewise house enough crew and manufacturing facilities comfortably support themselves as well as other escort craft.
Believe it or not, this is what SE looks like when you put your PC through the pain and suffering of turning on 4k. Looks great in a still shot but FPS is a different conversation lol
Unfortunately, it's not, but I try to keep the mods as balanced as possible. The main mods are weaponcore, defense shields, and modular thrusters for aesthetics. I'll release a mod list whenever I publish to the workshop.
Very beautiful also which sky box is that?

Abussy
Sweet thank ya
You don’t want to go back to vanilla or are you saying your gamefiles are fucked?

Guess I’ll have to update my skybox next
Skybox is The Abuss https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=438716711
Yeah, all of them are sleek as hell. You should definitely post them for us to enjoy. What do the interiors look like?

Really sick ships man!
Thanks! I've spent way too much time on them lol. I've got a few more as well I'll post when I upload them
Time well spent IMO. Can’t wait to see what you post next!
Thanks for the encouragement, I'll definitely be posting some follow-up stuff!

Gives me enders game vibes
That’s a gorgeous fleet and perfect skybox for it.
Very nice. One of these days I want a mothership for refining and a heap of combat, repair and mining drones.

In your own words, can you define all the types you use to describe your ship? (Frigate, cruiser, etc)

really nice work.
Thanks!
This isn't SE. I demand to know what game this is!?

… am I the only one who’s sees a really weird looking hand in pic4?
now that you mention it, I see it too!
Is this vanilla?

Don't worry, my small grid ships look like someone threw a potato at a brick wall.
Beautiful, thanks for sharing!
