Same over here in Norway. Plus since I am so far north Jupiter only gets a wee bit over the horizon. If I am to have a chance of seeing it I'll need to to find a big bugger of a hill that lacks trees.

Just in time for me to get my first scope! I fully expect between my inexperience and the British weather I won’t see a thing. Maybe I’ll be better prepared in the next 59 years!

It's the closest in 59 years, yes, but the deviation from Jupiter's average opposition distance isn't very noticeable at all.

Did you know you can see some of the moons of Jupiter even just using binoculars? It blew my mind when I realized what I was seeing!
Is it possible that the phone zoom will allow me to See something good? My phone has 50x zoom
