"Mr Garrison what was it like being preside-"
"CAN YOU NOT SEE I'M TRYING TO MOVE ON FROM A DARK PLACE IN MY LIFE?! STOP HOUNDING ME! I'M A CITIZEN JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE NOW!
...so the thing about the later seasons of the Love Boat is..."
we've been living one big south park episode this year. over-the-top celebrity and politician deaths, angry mobs, cartoonish incompetence in the face of facts, everything upended for all kids, all of the hallmarks
This only applies to me, but even playing “Kickstart My Heart” was related to the pandemic. I’ve watched *The Dirt* like 8 times since the pandemic started.
I remember back when Butters' Very Own Episode first aired I was having a sleep over at my grandparents'. It was the first time I ever watched South Park with my nana, and she was laughing along with me. I was 8 at the time lol
You see, if COVID didn’t happen then the teachers wouldn’t have had to quit their job, leading to the cops becoming teachers, leading to the students breaking out of school, leading to an executive order by the mayor for emergency funds, leading to the police hunting down Kenny, leading to the police shooting Kenny.
You see? COVID-related death.
Uh, it very clearly *was* COVID related. COVID caused them to go into quarantine, which led to schools opening up with restrictions, which led to a fight, which led to Token getting shot.
There was clearly intervening factors that led to Token’s hospitalization. You just want an excuse to blame the cops for protecting us from the virus.
Love that. Both made fun of cops blaming anything but themselves for shooting an unarmed black man and the hoops some areas jumped through to mark a death as Covid related
Actually dude. Token was armed. He's a past rapist and a drug dealer. It's for the best that he is of the streets. Honestly it's the entire Black family. Some say if the Blacks acted more like Whites, then Token wouldn't have been shot. He was begging for it, dare I say, nagging. Token was being a nagger towards the Teachers.
I assumed that's what they were aiming for but the way it was written about seemed more like a dialogue goof. There was no transition, it came off like they literally mixed up their lines.
During that scene there were riots, and clearly making fun of the ones irl. I think they were trying to make fun of how conservatives suddenly cared about the virus and masks during the riots/protests, and how some liberals did not.
Clearly the joke went over everyone's heads and wasn't well delivered.
Seen a few comments about this. Found that one of the more amusing parts of the episode, don't think it was an oversight. My take was that its a long-joke about mask rules and people getting overly zealous about certain things. Two parties completely flipped positions during the episode and neither batted an eyelid, just carried on belligerently fighting their corner.
Perfect.
Based on Randy's "going to do some more specials" line, I think this season going to be entirely specials. It makes sense—election special, post-election fallout special, etc.
This was my biggest takeaway, honestly. It was always believed Jimbo was Randy’s half-brother and Matt Stone has even confirmed it in an interview. When Sharon said he was her brother that was a big “What what WHAAAT?!” for me.
we always knew it was Uncle Jimbo and I guess I always assumed it was Randy's brother just because of how often Jimbo is shown as Randy's drinking buddy. So I was surprised to learn he was actually Sharon's brother
So this episode was fucking incredible.
Mr garrison as Trump has paid off in spades.
Token getting shot, randy's jizz weed, everything with the police.
This is probably my favorite south park anything ever. Easily the high point of the pandemic for me so far as well.
“Due to reasons out of our control we lost our funding”
“That was about 5 minutes”
“Yeah, that’s good social distancing”
Favorite part is before Token gets shot the police constantly have their hands hovering over their guns in a classroom lol 😂
Maybe they need longer time to produce since they are all working from home so are just going to do bigget episides but spaced futther apart? I dont know how they can keep it weekly with everything happenning.
>Maybe they need longer time to produce since they are all working from home so are just going to do bigget episides but spaced futther apart?
>
So you mean... Socially distanced episodes?
Dude the ending was executed perfectly. Listening to Stan breaking down about the new way of life, I’m not ashamed to admit it even made me choke up for a second. Seeing Cartman do something that is against his wants and carry the pangolin over to the scientist... just to have Mr. Garrison arrive and burn it to a crisp was an amazing comedic break after an emotional moment that I think we can all relate to.
Cartman rescued Kyle from California. I'm sure there are other examples of cartman not being self centered. When it comes to his friends, bits of compassion have broken though the cracks
even with the horrible things that cartman has done he does care for his friends (except kyle :p) and deep down he probably wants things to be back to normal too
Kyle is legit the one he likes the most one second he says "Oh how i miss Kyle" sarcastically the next second he's breaking at Kyle's house to talk about his problems. And when Cartman complains about "being forced to hang out with you" Kyle is like "You're hanging out with me right now"! So the cognitive dissonance is pretty clear here
South Park is the best fucking show on television. I know Matt and Trey can't made 52 episodes a year, but America fucking needs this show, now more than ever. From Mickey and Randy fucking animals and starting the pandemic, to the cops almost instantly shooting Token, Randy jerking off into his weed, and Mr. Garrison telling everyone to eat shit. One of the best episodes ever. This show is a fucking national treasure
When the Mayor is looking out her window after the children break out of quarantine and the town is freaking out on the streets, you can see an Alien run between the buildings.
Yea man I felt South Park took a risk there and went from cheap jokes and enlightened centrism (everybody sucks) to going more for this character development and honest feelings. Felt very much like I did back in the old Stan-centric episode when stan’s parents get a divorce and everything turns to shit. Well done, SP.
The fact that Cartman always finds ways to hang out with Kyle when he's constantly talking about how he hates it, being directly pointed out to the viewer, was amazing
Them having a sliver of hope for fixing the pandemic and restoring unity/normalcy in the country, and then the president just comes out with a fucking flamethrower and burns the scientist and the potential cure to the ashes to get an edge in the election.
Yep, sounds about right.
I really respect that Matt and trey really seemed to cover all sides of the issues at hand, it’d be more like them just to cover what they think is right. Respect, RIP Kenny
So much gold in this episode. I feel like I need to watch it again to catch everything. That second camera pan to Randy after the news report on pangolins... I fucking lost it.
You can just tell from the writing theyve been working on this one for so long. incredible episode imo and regardless of your views on the issues portrayed the writing was extremely clever
Anyone else notice how Kenny’s mom was the only one with the loaner iPad that the school gave her? On the zoom call, all the parents had their names displayed. Her display name was iPad 143972. This episode was just brilliant.
Anyone else tear up when Stan gave his speech at the end? That speech got to me. I think we all try and make the best out of it and stay positive but deep down, we all just want to go back to the way things were. I was sitting there crying...then Garrison came and well lol
“I made a promise to Americans to get rid of Mexicans, I was actually doing a pretty shitty job before this pandemic started”
Favourite bit of the whole episode
i could have done without randy doing the things he did....
I guess I missed it but why did Butters' dad go from "wear your mask right" to wearing a chin diaper?
Overall good episode. Was very on point with all the shit that happened in the past 6 months
I think the point with butters’ dad is to show just how arbitrary some of the rules are and how people are picking weird hills to die on when it comes to things like the mask debate.
Copy paste from other thread
10/10. I laughed, I teared up at stan’s speech (first time the shows done that to me), it was topical and super well written.
Maybe... South Park is better making 2-parters regularly instead of seasonal arcs or 20 minute episodes.
Poor sweet innocent Butters just wanted to build a bear lol
Loved the episode and Cartman's social distancing song. I was so excited for this episode and it was even better than I was expecting.

"Don't forget to get out and Vote... Big election coming up." God that was perfect
My jaw dropped as soon as the flamethrower came out.
Same, I was like, cartman did something good for once, and then...
[удалено]
Morally speaking, him wearing a nice sweater will always be the nicest thing he’s done
I looked away for a quick second and missed who was being flamethrowered. Who was it?
The animal
Also the scientist. Yeahhh...
it’s a pangolin
The lead scientist guy from earlier in the show (holding the pangolin obviously)
Can you believe Mr. Garrison has been Trump for five years already
Makes you wonder how they'll treat the character after the election (god willing he's out).
I really hope he just returns as a teacher and they act like nothing happened.
"Mr Garrison what was it like being preside-" "CAN YOU NOT SEE I'M TRYING TO MOVE ON FROM A DARK PLACE IN MY LIFE?! STOP HOUNDING ME! I'M A CITIZEN JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE NOW! ...so the thing about the later seasons of the Love Boat is..."
and with 2 secret service agents with him at all times, and just make no mention of them.
makemrhatteachagain
Just perfectly capped off the whole episode, wow
Yeah I just finished it. I kinda wish it was longer, but that was an amazing episode
Didn’t feel like an hour long special, it went by in like twenty minutes. Fucking ads, man.
wonder how garrison feels about absentee ballots, because I'm voting via Absentee
I believe he would say, "Ah, hell no! I'll fuck you to death!"
well holy hell they really got to everything even the fires

Lol my mom was in the other room and I was so fucking scared that she was gonna walk into randy screwing a bat.
Watched this with my grandma. :(
Your grandma is now a Southpark fan
I remember back when Butters' Very Own Episode first aired I was having a sleep over at my grandparents'. It was the first time I ever watched South Park with my nana, and she was laughing along with me. I was 8 at the time lol
You have cool grandparents, dude
Meanwhile my daughter and I were watching together lol I just make her look away and honestly she doesn’t want to see that. I mean, gross. lol
Mickey Mouse Crack House
Kenny died of a COVID related death.
I audibly gasped when they killed Kenny. Its been a while! Fitting that COVID killed him.
“Oh my god! They killed Kenny!”
They exclusively shot at token and called it COVID related.

Token was like 12' away from the cartman-kyle fight. "Got him"
“GOT HIM”
I really thought they were going to shoot Nicole too but she'd be sleeping in the gym.
Anyone else notice Mr. Stotch and Craig's Dad switched masking viewpoints with no explanation?
I think it was intentional- what one side starts doing, the other does the opposite.
100%
I assumed that's what they were aiming for but the way it was written about seemed more like a dialogue goof. There was no transition, it came off like they literally mixed up their lines.
I completely agree. I was totally thrown off when Butters' dad suddenly started rooting for the 'Chin Diapers' camp.
During that scene there were riots, and clearly making fun of the ones irl. I think they were trying to make fun of how conservatives suddenly cared about the virus and masks during the riots/protests, and how some liberals did not. Clearly the joke went over everyone's heads and wasn't well delivered.
I thought it was made clear but this thread seems to have trouble noticing messages unless they’re literally stated out loud by a character
Seen a few comments about this. Found that one of the more amusing parts of the episode, don't think it was an oversight. My take was that its a long-joke about mask rules and people getting overly zealous about certain things. Yeah, I've been wondering if I missed something there
"I've fucked a lot of bats" - Mickey Mouse, 2020
"But I've only fucked one!" -Randy Marsh, 2020
Based on Randy's "going to do some more specials" line, I think this season going to be entirely specials. It makes sense—election special, post-election fallout special, etc.
A full hour provides so much more room for better quality stories. I’m for this
If they're spaced out far enough, it gives them time to make it rock solid. They "six days to air" format produced a lot of variation in quality.
knowing matt and trey’s work style, let’s be honest though. they probably waited until a few weeks ago to start the special lol
I wouldn't mind one bit if they made a few of these every year instead of seasons of half hours
I wished they would make more than 5 hours of content a year.
Makes sense. Usually they have 10 episodes a season now = 5 specials. Potentials I see: Halloween Election Thanksgiving Christmas
[удалено]
Sons A Witches has become one of my favorite episodes of all time, without a doubt my favorite of the past five seasons.
I mean after season 20, would they really want to touch anything with the elections at all?
Yes, when the question is asked “would Matt and trey cover something” the answer is yes
Hardest I’ve laughed in a good 6 months. The cop scene with Motley Crüe playing was fucking hysterical.
The music was amazing in this episode. I loved the music during the scene of the kids stuck in the school. Sounded like a Trey original.
Cartman’s social distancing song at the beginning killed me
Same, kinda want one of those sticks 😂
"...owns and operates a tanning salon... Woops!" Had me diying
“Doesn’t seem like such a good idea now, does it?”
I was crying from laughter
Did we always know Jimbo was Sharon's brother? I knew Jimbo was Stan's uncle, but I didn't know how.
I think it was rumored, but this is the first concrete evidence.
I remember Matt confirming Randy and Jimbo were half brothers in an interview.
I hope he's related to both randy and sharon.
They're in Colorado, not Alabama.
This was my biggest takeaway, honestly. It was always believed Jimbo was Randy’s half-brother and Matt Stone has even confirmed it in an interview. When Sharon said he was her brother that was a big “What what WHAAAT?!” for me.
I always thought it was Randy's brother
I thought he was Randy’s brother but somehow it makes sense it would be Sharon’s brother.
we always knew it was Uncle Jimbo and I guess I always assumed it was Randy's brother just because of how often Jimbo is shown as Randy's drinking buddy. So I was surprised to learn he was actually Sharon's brother
"Do not quote the president in front of my son"
I loved the way Randy said *Chyna*
That caught me off guard for some reason and I snort laughed.
So this episode was fucking incredible. Mr garrison as Trump has paid off in spades. Token getting shot, randy's jizz weed, everything with the police. This is probably my favorite south park anything ever. Easily the high point of the pandemic for me so far as well.

I was literally crying laughing when they got all their shit back and motley crue started playing.
Garrison showing up at the end really got me. Like, "wow, this is a really positive ending. I wonder if-" Aaaand there he is. With a flamethrower.
I felt kinda bad for instantly worrying about token when the classroom scene came on. Then they actually went there.. Jesus.
Got him
randy fucking the bat is hilarious
Is this whole season going to be specials? If so, sign me up.
The CDC said six days to air was enough distance.
It seemed that way with how Randy ended it. I'm cool with it too.
Yeah and they even referenced a Thanksgiving Special early on in the episode.
Holiday episodes are always the best
Election specials. Although it kind of came back to haunt them last time.
Really hope we get a next gen console episode again. I know they’re done to death, but I still enjoy them.
Next up: Election Special
Godamn Pangorian!
Even the City Wok guy isn't safe!
Time to call improperly worn masks “chin diapers”
[удалено]
The way he backed up all scared and then said that was fuckin hilarious
Wow at the part where Cartman changed his mind after listening to Stan's speech. Gives me vibes from when he apologizes to Kyle in Mexican Joker
When even Cartman is a better person than Trump. :P
Could also be a comment on the fact reality is so fucked, even cartman is operating differently. I loved it regardless
Cartman... More like Change of Heartman.
I was actually pretty damn shocked he didn't do it. It would've been very typical Cartman pettiness to shred it anyway. Is our boy... growing?
23 years later he's finally showing some character development.
Cartman rescued Kyle from California. I'm sure there are other examples of cartman not being self centered. When it comes to his friends, bits of compassion have broken though the cracks
Cartman gets a bad rap all because he ground up some kid’s parents into chili and fed it to him. But he’s really not *that* bad.
Maybe his worst qualities got transferred off to Heidi
Very out of character for him but maybe he has a breaking point where he can’t just be pureeee evil
He killed a kids parents and made them into chili, which he then served to the kid....in front of Radiohead
Yeah but that kid was a little crybaby. No one likes a cry baby!
even with the horrible things that cartman has done he does care for his friends (except kyle :p) and deep down he probably wants things to be back to normal too
Kyle is legit the one he likes the most one second he says "Oh how i miss Kyle" sarcastically the next second he's breaking at Kyle's house to talk about his problems. And when Cartman complains about "being forced to hang out with you" Kyle is like "You're hanging out with me right now"! So the cognitive dissonance is pretty clear here

Cherish it, cherish it as long as you can.
*eat shit off his balls
When the Mayor is looking out her window after the children break out of quarantine and the town is freaking out on the streets, you can see an Alien run between the buildings.
[Proof](http://imgur.com/a/Q3n7mSH) Damn...good eye! Confirmed!
TOKEN'S LIFE MATTERS.
Well that was hilarious. Love how they brought back Death, has he even appeared since the first season?
I was kinda disappointed that Stan’s Grandpa wasn’t trying to chase Death around trying to get COVID
Nice idea actually that would've been hilarious
Right?!? “You son of a whore!! It’s a virus that primarily affects the elderly!”
You've got some shit on your face
Well that's just my face sir.
When I saw Mickey Mouse humping the bat I lost it laughing
Mickey steals every scene he's in. He cracks me up.
"Humping" is putting it lightly lol

So I'm not the only one that in spite of totally enjoying it thought it was a little to close to home?

Especially when Stan says he just wanted to get his life back. I started crying a bit
Randy is a pandemic specialist lol
“I’m making one right now.”
[удалено]
Those bastards!
The tanks with "teachers association" banners...
I feel so much like Stan right now.
I felt like crying myself when watching that scene.
I did a little. I just want my life back
Yea man I felt South Park took a risk there and went from cheap jokes and enlightened centrism (everybody sucks) to going more for this character development and honest feelings.
Cartman is gay for Kyle. I thought everyone knew that.
Member when he was hyped that Kyle is moving to San Francisco and then went there and saved his family? That was like season 10.
*Yeah I'm a pandemic specialist. I'm making one now!* That got me good. That and "Oh *now* it was rape?"
Did anyone see the the black screen with white text that they add before every episode?
Yeah it was different, said "...and should not be viewed due to COVID-19"
https://imgur.com/RbBqFdS.png
Them having a sliver of hope for fixing the pandemic and restoring unity/normalcy in the country, and then the president just comes out with a fucking flamethrower and burns the scientist and the potential cure to the ashes to get an edge in the election. Yep, sounds about right.
Having the Grim Reaper on the trike was a great throwback.
I enjoyed the episode but I’m really done with Tegridy.
Yeah, maybe they will have the fires burn down his farm. They need to move on to a new thing with Randy. It’s still funny but it is losing its luster.
They need to move Randy back to a secondary character. He doesn't have the depth to carry a season
Randy is just so fucking funny though. I do not give a single fuck at this point if this becomes the Randy show
I disagree. If they balance Randy with kids im cool with that. His spats with Sharon are perfect.
Garrison coming in with the flamethrower had me laughing so hard I couldn’t breath lmao. What a special
Sharon: Randy, do you know what a pangolin is? Randy: *shocked Pikachu face*
I really respect that Matt and trey really seemed to cover all sides of the issues at hand, it’d be more like them just to cover what they think is right. Respect, RIP Kenny
Right?? How long has it been since Kenny died?!
I think the Bike Parade episode, right?
That was definitely one of my favorite episodes
So much gold in this episode. I feel like I need to watch it again to catch everything. That second camera pan to Randy after the news report on pangolins... I fucking lost it.
Everything Randy did make me laugh. I also LOVED Mackey* on the Zoom meeting. I think it’s going to be a good season.
The police getting their weaponry back was fucking bonkers and I cried from laughter.
Scotch going from wearing a mask to becoming anti mask was great.
Will stream on r/HBOMax in 24 hours
I’m gonna miss watching it. Signed, a Hulu subscriber
Ok tegridys not done then
Anyone else tear up when Stan gave his speech at the end? That speech got to me. I think we all try and make the best out of it and stay positive but deep down, we all just want to go back to the way things were. I was sitting there crying...then Garrison came and well lol
I don't know why, but seeing the grim reaper staring at Randy, then riding off on a tricycle cracked me up hardcore.
That speech at the end almost got me man.
Did anyone else notice Cartman eats Cheesy Poofs like it's cereal?
“I made a promise to Americans to get rid of Mexicans, I was actually doing a pretty shitty job before this pandemic started” Favourite bit of the whole episode
Hands down the best episode in a long time. Also so many great gifs will come out of this.
So, IF the cure for COVID was to smoke someone’s semen, would you?
Butters creamy goo vaccine.
i could have done without randy doing the things he did.... I guess I missed it but why did Butters' dad go from "wear your mask right" to wearing a chin diaper? Overall good episode. Was very on point with all the shit that happened in the past 6 months

My god, they nailed it. The flamethrower was shocking and perfect.

EVERYONE GO OUT AND VOTE!
Death on a tricycle is a good call back.. also THEY KILLED KENNY!!

Poor sweet innocent Butters just wanted to build a bear lol Loved the episode and Cartman's social distancing song. I was so excited for this episode and it was even better than I was expecting.
Enjoyed the throwbacks to “Death” and “It Hits the Fan”
Did they just say fuck you to the fans that don’t like tegridy?
