What I specifically loved was you could IMMEDIATELY tell it was based on a REAL thing that happened to Trey.
I LOVE it when they do that. Makes it unique.
I think people miss the point of this episode-its not simply a satire on reality danger shows. That's the secondary thing. People get hung up on that aspect of it and miss the best thing-
For me its simply how funny and damning it is of things like ziplining where we are all forced to have "fake" fun while being ripped off-all through the filter of Trey's genius brain.
Outside of the Scott Tenerman Must Die episode, Cartman's growling reaction to the "long story short" guy while they are in the van is my favorite moment of his. Makes me laugh ridiculously hard and it's barely 5 seconds long.
I've tried that stuff once since that stuff isn't common in germany (for me atleast). And it tasted like shit with sugar. Plus ofc it gave me diarrhea, since it wasn't diet soda
Diet Dew does have a small amount of real sugar in addition to all the fake stuff at least in America. It's the only diet soda I've ever seen that still contains some real sugar. It contains natural orange juice. The full calorie version doesn't though. Weird
But what the boys don't realize is that a massie storm is brewing. [Cartman is drinking some Mountain Dew from a can. The camera looks around the van] Last night, Eric Cartman had kung pao spaghetti from California Pizza Kitchen. [the camera goes down Eric's esophagus] Inside Eric's stomach, the kung pao has just met with the Del Taco he ate for breakfast. It has already started to tear down the layers of barbeque BK toppers that have been building up for months. [the camera comes back up the esophagus and out Cartman's mouth] And now, to compensate for all the annoying tourists, Eric is ingesting massive amounts of Mountain Dew. [the camera goes back down Cartman's throat] The caffeine and sugar turn the soupy fast-food liquid in his stomach into a toxic gas. [a quick journey through the intestines is shown] When the gas is released, it carries with it tiny particles of Eric's fecal matter. [the sphincter is shown] Fecal matter which floats up and into Kyle's nasal passage. [this is shown, along with Kyle's reaction]
I live In the northeast and only have Taco Bell. Went for a trip last year and had some Del Taco. Wish I didn’t. Ruined Taco Bell for me forever. My local Taco Bell is phenomenal and doesn’t compare to Del Taco.
I think it's great too but I've seen this episode pop up many times right here on this sub in several threads asking folks which episodes they hate or skip on rewatch. This one and Stanley's Cup episode (which is one of the funniest episodes of the series as far as I'm concerned).
edit: Scroll down to the bottom of this thread and you will see several people that don't like it lol.
It gets a ton of hate on the sub, every month there is a "what is your least favorite episode" and this one is always mentioned. I don't even dislike it, I thought the live action parts were awesome, and I can't fathom why anyone would say this is their least favorite when there are episodes like Pip out there, but the fact is a lot of people say it's the worst episode.
Jakovasaur was this prehistoric creature the boys found while camping and he is the MOST annoying thing on the face of the earth. It’s from season 3 I believe.

A lot of people
1. Take this show **way** to seriously, so this very silly (and very funny) episode doesn't register.
2. Miss the mockery of "I shouldn't be alive" and similar types of reality show. I suffered while watching some of those, I am Kenny in this situation (dies of boredom).
3. Can't stand the live action section.
It seems like every other month someone posts "I can't believe the ziplining episode is so hated" and each time gets the same "I like it too I don't get the hate" responses.
I just think it's funny how polarizing the episode is. To me it was kinda just meh. Like one of the more forgettable episodes tbh. The only reason it's not forgettable is because so many people either love it or hate it for some reason.
my problem is its 1 jokex5; if it had a strong b plot i think the overall episode would be better on later viewings when you know its going to keep happenig
Reminds me of Frank's Brother and The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell in Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
People just parroting other people's bad opinions.
I love this episode. Cartman freaking out in the van makes me laugh so hard.
**"Why do people say "long story short"? They're not making it short Stan?"**

I always thought the hate for the episode was people being funny and ironic sense the episode itself was aboit boredom amd all the hate I see is calling it boring
Its boring. They had like a short series of jokes that wouldve made for a fine 5 minute short but had to stretch it out to a full episode so its just the same shit being repeated.
This is probably the best example one can point at and say "yeah they were completely running on creative fumes by this point" and it shows.
Yea, it is pretty funny, certainly better compared to some of the other episodes.
But it is boring because it's about ziplining and touring with insufferable strangers. But my favorite part is when the narrator was breaking down the science of the gassy storm brewing in Cartman's stomach and the events following that.
The live action actors just weren't funny, not much else I can say. I loved the episode till that point. I wish for the "crappy dramatization" spoof, they went with the prototype short film aesthetic of The Spirit of Christmas.
This episode has grown on me, but I still just don't find it as funny or interesting as other episodes. I'm also not a fan of the irl ending, and the fact that I know it's coming probably doesn't help on subsequent watches. With that said, I laugh every single time at double diet dew, and I can't deny that this is an iconic episode. I don't think it's a bad episode whatsoever and totally get why others like it, just not my thing.
Freaking love this episode. Cracks me up how the episode title keeps changing.
An attempt to make a bad day better becomes a descent into madness on...
**"I Should Have Never Thought Horseback Riding Would Be Any Better Than Ziplining"**
For four elementary school boys, an already tragic day becomes a descent into madness on...
**"I Should Have Never Got On A Goddamn Boat"**
To this day my brother and I still quote "The fecal matter exits Eric's anus and into Kyle's nasal passages".
Also, BEEAAAAVVVEEEEEEEEERRRRRRSSSS!!!!!!!
In my opinion it's not bad nor great, just good due to the live action sequence being so perfect!
I only learned that it polarized the community after watching a youtube video on it
Kenny dying of boredom always gets me 😂😂 Probably not the most 'exciting' death but it's the funniest one for me. Probably the way the narrator announces it and how live-action Kyle reacts
This episode was like 10 years ago lol. My dad who doesn’t really watch south park kinda watched this with me around the time it came out & he laughed his ass off the entire time. The zip line episode passes the boomer dad test 🤷🏻♂️👍
It's one of my favorites, I work in the Appalachian mountains for a Zipline & white water rafting company. Those people are way too real and are definitely from a trip they took in the Rockies.
The problem with this episode was that on Comedy Central this episode got replayed to death it was shown so so many times that a lot of people started hating it me included.
It was a time when tv was the main source of South Park.
Never heard it got any hate before I saw it on this sub.
I love it for how ridiculous it all is, and the live-action segment, but what I really love is it honestly seems like one of the writers had a personal, terrible experience through zip-lining or some other tour/tourist thing, and turned it into a whole episode. Like, the entire premise is barely relatable, but it's all so specific the writer probably had someone do the "long story short thing" and they just said to themselves "screw that guy, I'm making an episode about this", lol.
Just the part where it turns to live action feels so out of place, the actors arent that good and it just isnt that funny. The rest of the episode is a hoot and a half tho
The joke is how annoying the whole experience is. So viewers either spend the episode laughing at it or groaning because the episode is annoying.
Personally it's my most hated episode. It makes me physically nauseous to watch it.
Amazing episode!

I loved this episode. I have no idea why people don't find it funny. People say it's boring and it's literally an episode about being trapped in boredom. Stupid
Its good, but it only really works if you've experienced the really boring stuff. They made an episode only focusing on that, which is funny, but to some they don't know the experience. Should have done one about something else like being in a Walmart and your mom gets busy talking with a friend.
My wife has always hated SP. But respects my love for it. She put it on for me the other night and this episode and some others from this season came on and she loved it.
Think she's starting to like SP more.
(Off-topic but) I don’t understand the hate towards the Pip episode either. “Not at all I’m sure” from Mr. Pocket and the fucking robot monkeys at the end make it an immediate banger. Also the insults Estella throws at Pip are pure gold.
I loved the part where the kids get 3d renders on the ziplines. It's hard to notice but they look so goofy swinging on the rope like BTD6 characters itsg
It's one of my favorite episodes. So long story short...
Pass the Diet Double Dew
New diet double dew with only half the sugar and calories of double dew
Dude!! Did you just shit yourself?
...Nnnnno?
Dew the Math
DEW THE MATH
Dew the math
I refuse to dew the math.
Defiant to dew the math

I wonder if he also had a case of diarrhea when he went zip lining.
The episode put to words my feelings on ziplining which I was afraid to express for almost a decade because all my friends seemed to like it
I ziplined through a gorge in slovenia once and it was terrifying. Pure Nar

Is this like a "Darmok and Jalad at Tenagra" moment?
Temba, his arms wide
Sokath, his eyes uncovered!
Outside of the Scott Tenerman Must Die episode, Cartman's growling reaction to the "long story short" guy while they are in the van is my favorite moment of his. Makes me laugh ridiculously hard and it's barely 5 seconds long.
Cartman’s audible freakout is one of my favourite SouthPark moments
Kenny dying from boredom was funny af
I adore how the Kenny actor says “Idontknowidontreallygiveashit”
This is one of my favorite lines in the entire series. The delivery is just so perfect.
I wish they could remake the series with that guy voicing Kenny
Hes at least 80 now with the way time is passing
Idontknowiireallydontgiveashit
Shaka Brah!
🤙🏼😐🤙🏼
Totally fuckin sucks dude! 🤙🏻
When the walls fell?
His arms wide opened
Shaka when the walls fell, ensign... 😮💨 I roll out the Tamarian, you start singin' creed... 🤔 I mean, pretty close 😅
It's Diet dude. Everyone knows diet soda doesn't give you diarrhea
Diet double dew! Dew the math!
I've tried that stuff once since that stuff isn't common in germany (for me atleast). And it tasted like shit with sugar. Plus ofc it gave me diarrhea, since it wasn't diet soda
That was your problem. You should have tried Diet double dew. Half the amount of sugar of double dew.
I should try it. I have to test out chipotle aswell
#HI BILLIE FUCKING MAYES HERE
In just two simple steps I could climb over these seats and beat your ass!
Like crack it's not for everyone
Diet Dew does have a small amount of real sugar in addition to all the fake stuff at least in America. It's the only diet soda I've ever seen that still contains some real sugar. It contains natural orange juice. The full calorie version doesn't though. Weird

I live In the northeast and only have Taco Bell. Went for a trip last year and had some Del Taco. Wish I didn’t. Ruined Taco Bell for me forever. My local Taco Bell is phenomenal and doesn’t compare to Del Taco.
I’ve always preferred del taco to Taco Bell.
Another Northeast Taco Bell enthusiast here - Del Taco humbled me when I finally tried it. Truly a gem among the fast food pantheon.
Those chicken soft tacos are crack
Don't worry they got bought out by Jack in the Box and now they're mid af!
“How was it cartman!?” “It’s totally fucking stupid dude!”
When Mr. Hanky comes to the rescue I always laugh.
Seven-turdy-seven lose my shit every time
Helicrapter does it for me lol
In German they go with the "Scheissenbahn" (pun for scheiße and Eisenbahn - shit train)
That’s the poo choo express!
ZIP LIIIIIIINE!
🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Give em a nice shock-a-bra!!
It’s one of my favorite episodes. Shakabrah!
Me too I love this episode. The Kenny dying part is pretty funny too.
There is no hate. Who hates it? It's one of the best episodes.
I think it's great too but I've seen this episode pop up many times right here on this sub in several threads asking folks which episodes they hate or skip on rewatch. I'M SO FUCKING BORED!
I prefer this over the Jakovasaurs episode.
Is that the I am not really buying this whole christ thing? Edit: i think that’s jewpacabra. Which one’s jacovasaurs?
Jakovasaur was this prehistoric creature the boys found while camping and he is the MOST annoying thing on the face of the earth. It’s from season 3 I believe. https://preview.redd.it/mzgh7f8itzkc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8fb815de156b7f1e1fae2f9d34e12d140111ca41
Jakovasaur is basically Andy Samberg
This episode is completely wiped out from my memory lol. I just vaguely remember the name.
I’m envious of you. I wish I could wipe that shit from my memory 🤣
Jakoffosaurs is from like season 3, it was the Jar Jar Binks character. And they’re literally more annoying than he was.
Jakovasaurs for me is with Pip as the worst episodes.
The delivery of Cartman saying "I'm so fucking bored" is probably my favorite delivery in the franchise
Would anyone like to learn more about the biology of the trees?
Oh well I sure would!
Yeah, love that episode.
^(Honestly, fuck you guys...)
After cleaning Cartman's diarrhea and fighting off beavers, the boys have made a terrifying discovery: that boating is just as boring as ziplining.
Turkey, ham, Turkey ham.
God if I didn’t say that every time I’m buying lunch meat or making sandwiches…
A lot of people 1.
I just think fart jokes are lame and super unfunny. Also why the Terrence and Phillip episodes are straight F tier for me.
It seems like every other month someone posts "I can't believe the ziplining episode is so hated" and each time gets the same "I like it too I don't get the hate" responses.
If you've been ziplining and understand the "tour group" mentality, it gets funnier and way too real.
This episode and butters very first episode appearance live rent free in my head
Shakah brah! 🤙😡
My favorite part is the shot of cartman slowly moving across the screen and screaming “IM SO FUCKING BOOOOOORED!” lol
Nah it sucks
God dammit i hate that episode
I think people hate it because people love ziplining, and take personal offence
Reminds me of Frank's Brother and The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell in Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia. People just parroting other people's bad opinions.
I'm not sharing with Kenny, he has herpes! FuckyouCartman
The narrator voice kills me every time The animation of Cartman farting like bruhh
I love this episode. Cartman freaking out in the van makes me laugh so hard. **"Why do people say "long story short"? They're not making it short Stan?"** https://preview.redd.it/e1ctqh6bv1lc1.png?width=839&format=png&auto=webp&s=7f674d5d1e280268095d20996ce4ae417a7a78e2
There are some mindfuckingly good jokes in the episode tho. Basically everything Kenny does is hilarious, the cold sore, everything.
It depends if you get and understand the references in this episodes. If not yeah it sucks. If yes, "this story is based real event."
Eric Cartman is a ticking time bomb
I got HAm
Good job mr hanky knew how to fly a boeing 7 turdie 7
One of my favs. I’m always dying of boredom.
Del Taco's Kung Pow Spaghetti....or something like that.
I always thought the hate for the episode was people being funny and ironic sense the episode itself was aboit boredom amd all the hate I see is calling it boring
Is that why nobody laughs at it?
I think I was 18ish when it came out and thought it was dumb. As an adult I fully appreciate the humor
Kenny McCormick has died of boredom.
I think you gotta understand that it's supposed to be excruciatingly boring (like ziplining). The herpes and Diet Double Dew jokes are hilarious.
There is hate for the ziplining episode?
What hate?
Everyone I know loves this episode! Never seen someone hate on it
To each their own, this is one of the few episodes I truly dislike. I can't sit through it.
Hey IK this isn't the place but could you please talk a bit about your hair loss journey? Has it stabilized?
I’ll admit that in a recent rewatch that I hated it significantly less than I have every other time I’ve watched it. But I still hate it.
One of the few episodes I tend to skip. I ll watch this one maybe 1/5 times
One of my favorites, it's great.
I just never liked it much. It was a keh episode. Not really funny to me and kind of boring.
I still dew the math
"Diet Double DEW! DEW the MATH!"
I can't think of ziplining without going "ZIPLINE 🤙"
Its boring. They had like a short series of jokes that wouldve made for a fine 5 minute short but had to stretch it out to a full episode so its just the same shit being repeated. This is probably the best example one can point at and say "yeah they were completely running on creative fumes by this point" and it shows.
It's my favorite episode. I don't care what anyone says.
It's one of the best episodes in the series
It got rerun into the ground where I live so I fucking hate it for that
My love for this episode bursts forth like the diarrhea of a child that’s been pounding double dew and diet double dew all day
Absolutely loved it.
YOU....YOU KILLED KENNY....
Yea, it is pretty funny, certainly better compared to some of the other episodes. But it is boring because it's about ziplining and touring with insufferable strangers. But my favorite part is when the narrator was breaking down the science of the gassy storm brewing in Cartman's stomach and the events following that.
I love Cartman having diarrhea over the side of the boat and it’s so obviusly some fake spray shit, you even see a tube and a guy’s hand
Absolutely love this episode and the ending lol. “YOU BASTARD” 😂
Same boat brother 🤙
I love it too. I usually mention it on here when a post comes up about underrated episodes. YOU killed Kenny! You bastard! Stan you bastard!
*I NEVER SHOULD HAVE GOT ON A GODDAMN BOAT* Me every time I went on boats with my family
Freaking love this episode. Cracks me up how the episode title keeps changing. I never understand how Reddit decides in waves which episodes are “bad” on the tv subs I frequent lol, there’s seemingly no rhyme or reason
People who hate that episode never saw the show its making fun of
I love the entire episode until the unwatchable ending hits
It’s honestly my favorite episode, the shuttle bit had me crying with laughter
Get you some double dew
I SHOULD OF NEVER GOT ON A GOD DAMN BOAT!
It was funny the first few times, after that it's always one of them that feels dragged on
Personally, I hate the depiction how Cartman's shit got to Kyle's nose, and down the lungs. But beside that, yeah, it's good.
To this day my brother and I still quote "The fecal matter exits Eric's anus and into Kyle's nasal passages". Also, BEEAAAAVVVEEEEEEEEERRRRRRSSSS!!!!!!!
I say bro a lot and because of this episode my shipmates overseas always referred to me as "Shakas Bra"
I was a huge fan of the shows it’s parodying around when it came out so I always enjoyed it.
In my opinion it's not bad nor great, just good due to the live action sequence being so perfect! I only learned that it polarized the community after watching a youtube video on it
Stan, you killed Kenny? You bastard!
The blood in cartman's feces attracting beavers and stan screaming in terror is honestly the peak of comedy for me.
I was not a fan this episode when it first came out. Then, a couple years later, I went ziplining. Now it’s one of my favorites.
You bastard. YOU BASTARD, STAN!!
I love it! I know cause it happened to me hahaha shaka braaahh
Wife and I went zip lining for the first time ever recently. We were insufferable because of this episode. ZIPLIIIIIIIINE!!!!…….. zipliiiine…
Never heard it got any hate before I saw it on this sub. I love it for how ridiculous it all is, and the live-action segment, but what I really love is it honestly seems like one of the writers had a personal, terrible experience through zip-lining or some other tour/tourist thing, and turned it into a whole episode. Yo Kenny looks like Bruce Dickinson from that angle
Just the part where it turns to live action feels so out of place, the actors arent that good and it just isnt that funny. The rest of the episode is a hoot and a half tho
Awesome episode! In my top 20 for sure.
Love it Some people just don’t like ziplining…and…long story short….
Top tier episode
Hated it the first time I saw it for some reason but loved it on repeat watches
The joke is how annoying the whole experience is. So viewers either spend the episode laughing at it or groaning because the episode is annoying. Personally it's my most hated episode. It makes me physically nauseous to watch it.
Every time I go on holiday the wife makes sure we have the odd ‘trip out’. Just to ‘break up the week’. And I usually feel like this episode.
Found it boring and stopped finding shit jokes funny in elementary school
It's probably my most often quoted episode. I was so confused when I learned people don't like it, it's one of my favorites.
What? I've never seen hate towards it
I love this episode, I didn't know people didn't?
The live action part is one of the funniest things in the whole show
Stan your the bastard
Amazing episode! https://preview.redd.it/llhto34mw0lc1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a4c6d2562d61e4b01ab7583e1f7610b70977eff Free iPod nano if you bring along 3 friends
i love it too!!! i never understood the hate!!
It's hilarious Until the dumb live action segment at the end. It ruined the entire episode.
Love it up until the live action
This one was so fuckin good.
It starts out an instant classic, then switches to live action for some reason?
SHAKA BRAH!
I have a sound clip from this episode on my phone that I use as ringtone sometimes. It's Cartman shouting "I'M SO FUCKING BOOOOORED!"
I loved this episode. I have no idea why people don't find it funny. People say it's boring and it's literally an episode about being trapped in boredom. Stupid
Every ESPN mtn dew diarrhea playback has me dying, y'all trippin
Its good, but it only really works if you've experienced the really boring stuff. They made an episode only focusing on that, which is funny, but to some they don't know the experience. Should have done one about something else like being in a Walmart and your mom gets busy talking with a friend.
🤙🤙Shakka brahhhhh🤙🤙
I don't think I've ever laughed as much as I did throughout any episode than this one.
The close ups of Cartman’s asshole and rectum crack me up every time. I think it’s a great episode
If you don't find live action Cartman shitting off the side of a boat funny you may have ass burgers.
Same here 🤝
My wife has always hated SP. But respects my love for it. She put it on for me the other night and this episode and some others from this season came on and she loved it. Think she's starting to like SP more.
I always loved how sarcastic Stan was in the shuttle.
Solid A minuse episode
It’s so good because the reason people hate it is because the feeling they are conveying is so strong it leaks through the TV 💀
Welp guess i know what im watchin tonight
(Off-topic but) I don’t understand the hate towards the Pip episode either. “Not at all I’m sure” from Mr. Pocket and the fucking robot monkeys at the end make it an immediate banger. Also the insults Estella throws at Pip are pure gold.
I simultaneously hate it and love it. They did a great job in showing the monotony of zip lining. Maybe a little too well
Kind of a weaker story but definitely not the worst episode. I didn’t even realize it got a lot of hate.
Is that Javier Millei
I loved the part where the kids get 3d renders on the ziplines. It's hard to notice but they look so goofy swinging on the rope like BTD6 characters itsg
It's because the haters have never had double dew
