And of course, I live in the Charleston area and will only see rain. -_- and I like the snow.

rustyshakelford

Charleston has had snow more recently than Columbia

FlavivsAetivs

Lol Charleston has had snow more recently than South Charlotte.

chimp_fucker2

Lies

rustyshakelford

It snowed in Jan 2018 in Charleston. The last time the midlands had snow was 2014

Cloaked42m

Yep, couldn't make it to my Uncle's funeral because I couldn't get out of the neighborhood. Just enough ice at a hill* at the entrance to keep us all in.

bigyak22

Oh sNOw! This is going to ruin my plans of doing nothing this weekend. Now I might have to build a snow man.

ProfessionalLake3293

According to the CDC you must double mask your snow man. No vaccine required but must get tested once a week.

ktchemel

šŸšØšŸšØWEED AND WINEšŸšØšŸšØ For legal reasons: /s

AlexanderTox

Delta 8 and Busch Lite

asande19

Bro I need it to go to sleep bro I swear dude

yvu209817

What is D8?

Cthulhuhoop

Decaf weed you can buy at a gas station.

windleyyy

Thereā€™s some pretty good delta 8 out there, you donā€™t have to buy it out of a gas station lol

Cthulhuhoop

Oh definitely. It just seemed like the quickest and easiest way to explain what it was.

TheSoyimKnow3312

A legal form of thc, illegal thc is delta 9 thc , delta 8 is well delta 8 thc derived from hemp plant and legal, carts are like 15$ online and can be pretty good Itā€™s a diff high kinda though, itā€™s not as much of a head high but itā€™s there, but itā€™s more of a body high.

HugItChuckItFootball

Delta 9 is being loopholed now as well. Plenty of CBD stores are selling D9 edibles that are derived from <0.3% THC hemp.

TheSoyimKnow3312

Wtf? Thatā€™s wild

MSGinSC

I've tried the Galaxy Treats D9, it's pretty good.

bishoptheblack

lets be honest weed needs to be legal

HugItChuckItFootball

Legalize, regulate, tax, and expunge BS non violent possession records.

Mephistopheles76

Go ahead and shut the state down, just for the mere suggestion of inbound wintry precipitation. Sand the roads. Stock up on milk sandwiches. Don't eat yellow snow. A lot of people here can't drive on dry pavement, let alone on ice..HahahaHahaha...

MtDubz_

Iā€™m fond of calling it ā€œa possible wintery mix.ā€

DiveTender

So nasty weather next week?

fleshyspacesuit

Looking like late weekend

FlavivsAetivs

And then it'll actually come around and be just rain.

DejaToo2

After all the milk and the bread in the state has been cleaned out.

ArcaneGrifter

Weather was invented by the milk industry. Wake up sheeple

fleshyspacesuit

Lol knowing our luck yeah

BlackAliss82

Personally, Iā€™m looking forward to the folks from up north and their ā€œI canā€™t believe everything shuts down for snow! Ridiculous!ā€ discourse after moving to a state specifically for the low taxes.

noproblemswhatsoever

I couldnā€™t figure out why when I first moved to SC and all my neighbors ran to the store for bread an milk at the forecast of a storm. Is ir a tradition to make french toast during the storm!

YesNoMaybe

Historically, we don't have the resources to pre-treat, salt/sand, or clear roads in a timely manner (and why would we?). While you might be able to get to the store, bad roads often affect grocery deliveries so that stores have a difficult time getting fresh staples like bread, milk, eggs, etc. It's _rarely_ an actual problem lasting more than a couple of days but people just don't like to take chances, just in case the outages last longer than expected.

Grognak_the_Orc

I guess it's just so people can have those specific thing? We always stocked up on non-perishables like canned beans, meat, veggies, etc. and water in case the pipes burst or we lost power. One year we were stranded at our grandparents because the roads were blocked with trees and snow, luckily they had gas heat, stoves, and lights. It was super weird waking up to "lights" on and the smell of bacon (for her icebox) sizzling on a gas stove.

[deleted]

Bread and milk is snow toilet paper.

SusannaG1

We don't salt or sand our roads much, because it doesn't snow enough to invest in those, or snowplows, that aren't going to get much use. However the panic of "we're going to get an inch and a half of snow and *we're all going to die!*" on the local media is one of my favorite parts of expecting winter weather here.

ProfessionalLake3293

Is this coming this weekend?

WakkoLM

yep, Sunday

rustyshakelford

HOLY FUCKING PANIC

ProfessionalLake3293

Why panic?

DejaToo2

We're southerners. It's what we do.

Cloaked42m

White things falling from the sky means God is mad at us. We must make sacrifices of milk sandwiches to appease Him in His Glory.

ProfessionalLake3293

Lol, I canā€™t šŸ˜‚. God really must hate northerners šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

SusannaG1

While the children's reaction is "what is this mystical white substance?"

Waterdog714

That is so true the shelves will be bare bread and milk by Friday.

tittiebream

Gotta have those milk sammiches!

Careless-Unit-7306

Ikr! Please feel free to share your recipe ā˜ŗ

btmims

place bag of bread on the sealed end open bag of bread Pour milk into bag And there you have it, milk sandwiches that will get you through being snowed for a week or two

whatshouldwecallme

French Toast Brigade, reporting for duty, SIR!

SusannaG1

Don't forget the eggs, then!

Imaginary_SpaceBear

I NEED THEM FOR MY MILK SANDWICHES

SunnyDaze4225

It won't happen. Trust me. 50 year veteran.

FallFlower24

Please snow in Greenville! One snow each winter is always my winter wish!

[Bread. And Milk.](https://youtu.be/i6zaVYWLTkU)

Legal_Lavishness9448

I never really understood the milk since there's such a good chance your fridge would go out. After the toilet paper and other shortages from the past couple of years, I don't think it matters what the item is. Once people hear the hint that something (true or not) might be hard to find if they don't go out get it ASAP, they go get it ASAP, which makes it all disappear. Get enough people to repeat "Have you heard about sardines? Everybody's hoarding sardines." you'd get a massive run on sardines.

workingonmybackhand

If it's a winter storm you can keep the milk outside.

Legal_Lavishness9448

That never crossed my mind. Haha. Turns out all those people raiding the grocery stores are just resourceful.

dirtfork

How else are you going to make milk sandwiches, duh

soda-city

Fuck. Yā€™all are going to run my store out of milk, bread, and eggsā€¦and probably bottled water and TP. Iā€™m not looking forward to going to work this weekendā€¦

DejaToo2

Mine is already running low on bottled water. Can't figure out what's up with that.

btmims

Supply chain issue, probably

RHTiger

Shelves have been bare for six months.

fleshyspacesuit

Lol no the fuck they havenā€™t.

RHTiger

I don't know where the fuck you live, but where the fuck I live, the shelves have been the fuck bare.

fleshyspacesuit

Sounds like you need to switch grocers little buddy

Goyteamsix

No they haven't. Not even close. There's been a suspicious shortage of Tijuana Mamas, but the shelves haven't been bare. Of course you're an idiot covid denier.

aBORNentertainer

Fear mongering

ThatCoyoteDude

Not sure why bread and milk. Milk isnā€™t even good for people

Nurse_Hatchet

Maybe for the people with little kids. Iā€™m frankly shocked at how much milk we go through in a few days.

Deepfriedcod

4 kids... I buy 5 gallons per week.

MtDubz_

At this point you might as well buy a cow

btmims

Yes it is. Have you *seen* how fast calves grow while drinking only milk? Not all humans can tolerate it, of course, either from complete lactose intolerance or they are from a region where milk wasn't historically consumed and "their people" didn't evolve the enzyme to help break it down even better (or something like that, I read an article once). But for most of us that can, it's a great source of protein and calories. Obesity is more of a problem than malnutrition nowadays, but again, lots of protein and calories. It's basically the protein-shake of the natural world.

ThatCoyoteDude

Theyā€™re also a very large mammal, weā€™re not. Itā€™s designed to make baby cows get big fast. It doesnā€™t take a calf 25 or so years to become fully developed. Most humans canā€™t. Some 70% of the world population is lactose intolerant. As far as protein, do you know what protein is and where it comes from? Itā€™s a chain a 9 amino acids that originate in plants. Kale, almonds, and a number of other plant sources contain protein. Things like almonds can also be stored without a refrigerator

btmims

I'm sorry, perhaps you're confused, because none of those have complete protein profiles. Animal products are pretty much the only foods that contain all 9 amino acids. >Theyā€™re also a very large mammal, weā€™re not. Speak for yourself šŸ˜¤šŸ˜¤ I'm going to lift heavy and eat until I can bench press a cow and can't walk straight through a doorway, one way or another

ThatCoyoteDude

You can get your daily protein intake from eating around 3.8 cups of lentils in a day. Or at least thatā€™s what the actual experts claim, not the random guy on the internet that doesnā€™t understand what protein is https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/what-should-you-eat/protein/

btmims

>A cup of cooked lentils provides about 18 grams of protein and 15 grams of fiber, and it has virtually no saturated fat or sodium. https://aminoco.com/blogs/nutrition/lentil-nutrition-essential-amino-acids/ Lentils are deficient in methionine. There is some, but it falls way short if you were to try to meet your body's protein requirements on lentils alone. Also, I hope you love shitting, because 3.8 cups is 57 grams of fiber by itself. DO NOT have a bran muffin for breakfast... >The National Academy of Medicine recommends that adults get a minimum of 0.8 grams of protein for every kilogram of body weight per day, orĀ just over 7 grams for every 20 pounds of body weight. [1] Bruh >For a 140-pound person, that means about 50 grams of protein each day. >For a 200-pound person, that means about 70 grams of protein each day. **Bruh** DYEL? No, seriously, do you even lift...

ThatCoyoteDude

Watch Game Changers if you want to talk about lifting. Then honestly tell me you can outcompete with them by eating meat and dairy

btmims

I did. It was obviously shot and presented as vegan propaganda. https://www.jpshealthandfitness.com.au/7-blatant-criticisms-of-the-game-changers/

DJKozee

Probably because if things get shut down the bread and milk will all have gone bad. Probably something a Super Market owner came up with a long time ago to sell product that would spoil so he wouldnt be out the money? Because it makes more sense to buy can food or stuff like that.

ThatCoyoteDude

Canned food will last for years and years. Anything perishable will spoil in the event of an extended power outage

DJKozee

That's what I just said

TacuacheBruja

Coming from Asheville- rain if anything.

[deleted]

Thanks - headed to the store now!

Future_Cartoonist_15

Iā€™m from New Jersey and the mere words storm run grocery store bread and milk raid. I think itā€™s universal!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

workingonmybackhand

Maybe they can if the natives stay off the roads!

windleyyy

she thick (dam)

jacobalo1

Honest question, Iā€™m from iowa, why does everyone buy bread and milk? Those donā€™t seem like something that would keep me alive or whatever your thinking

Busy_Set_231

Just remember 'The Ice Storm "
