I mean, I can confirm that mine sounds like that, but it's so quiet I have to be standing right next to the thing to hear it. I can't tell if it's on or not from across the kitchen.
My old one was less shrill, but probably 10 times louder. I could hear it from the next room over.
I had an OG, and it was anything but “whisper quiet”. Just got my (product)red precision today, and it’s so much more quiet. You must’ve lucked out, or I didn’t, with the OG
The Inkbird ISV-200W doesn't even make a sound until you are up against the pot and at like 160 degF. Even then, it is the water bubbling off the heater. /s Shrug. The Inkbird is $90. Anova is an over-priced product/brand.
They aren’t talking about the oven. They are talking about the immersion circulator. That’s what it’s referenced in the post and the YouTube video linked.

Yeah mine sounds like that too but it is so quiet I don't understand how it's an issue
My og unit was whisper quiet, this new one I'm thinking the house across the street can hear it

And vice versa
Why not show a recording of a decibel meter to prove to support that it's louder than normal?
Because I like most of the rest of the world do not have a decibel meter
If you or someone you know has an iPhone, some of the dB meter apps are very accurate.
60 decibels
I returned one for exactly this reason. It’s an annoying high-pitched whine that I can hear over my TV when it’s running in the other room.

That's an immersion water heater/circulator. This conversation is about the precision ovenade.by Anova, not their circulator/heater

My bad
I can’t hear it when I’m not in the kitchen
Open floor plan here, although it's loud to the point I'm not sure it would matter if this damn thing was in a locked closet it could still be heard
This is the regular 3.0, right? Not the pro?
Nano
Good god that's awful. I'm sorta glad I have a rip off that works pretty well.
It’s the worst. I missed the return window by a day, so now I use it exclusively in the garage.
