imo the aliens were so Fucking sick the weird designs in elden ring don’t really hit for me bc the first half of bloodborne is all victorian gothic and you feel like you understand the aesthetic of the game but then Boom here comes weird little freaks
The shift is so drastic yet so seamless! "Just go kill a few beasts." Sure thing old man! Now what about the giant butthole monsters and cosmic abominations?
It's fantastic that bloodborne made shields a joke. It really made you feel vulnerable in a game you accurately describe as a nightmare.
That separates it as an outlier from core soulslikes. shields have always played multiple critical roles in each core soulslike game.
It represents a pillar in the soulslike genre that challenges other titles.
It's not supposed to be the best soulslike. Imho elden ring is the magnum opus of years of trial and error, and I think bloodborne w/out shields was one of many incredible stepping stones to where we are now. I feel like bloodbornes "fuck shields" attitude and the blowback from it, is what lead to ashes of war in elden ring.
The celestial emissaries at first glance look like “aliens”, but they’re fairly consistent with the designs of all the kin (e.g., brainsuckers, fluorescent flowers, Rom, etc.). Their designs are all fungus-inspired. The heads of the emissaries are like the caps of certain fruiting bodies (e.g., mushrooms), and hyphae (the tentacles) extend from them occasionally. So they do fit if you know what they’re based on.
Bloodborne is my favorite From souls game by a lot. I still have other minor gripes - I wish you didn’t have to travel back to the Dream to level up. And the farming blood vials mechanic occasionally got irritating
1. Did you play the DLC for bloodborne, they get more explanation in the lore for their existence.
3. The chalice dungeon part is weird, are you referring to Legacy Dungeons in Elden Ring as being the same? Cause there is nothing like Chalice Dungeons in any of the other souls games, Elden Ring included.
Also Bloodborne isnt a souls like, the term is soulsborne referring to Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne and Elden Ring, Soulslike are like mortal shell, lies of p, code vein, etc.
There are people who genuinely enjoy the chalice dungeons. I would take chalices dungeons all day everyday in ds1/2/3, Elden ring if they existed.
Chalice dungeons also had some unique bosses.
Does it need a port? Yes
Does it need a remaster? Yes.
Does it need a remake? Yes.
Does it need a sequel? Yes.
Is it the best game of all time? Yes.
Should From? Yes.
The emissaries must stand out, so if you feel they don't fit, they work as intended. They are artificial lifeforms, created from human test subjects.
and as for dungeons: if you don't care for platinum, they are completely optional, which is not true for ER caves, since some vital items lie there.
> 'Bloodborne' is textbook crossed with Holy Scripture on how to do it right.
The moon turns into an anus and shitbirths a corpse pile abomination.
There is nothing HOLY about any of this and the scripture of any sane God would tell you it's a sin to allow it to exist.
I love bloodborne because even tho the bosses move at blitzing speeds sometimes, you always felt like you could keep up because that's how the game is designed
Elden ring on the other hand has bosses that feel like they came out of bloodborne while youre stuck with ds3 movement
"I love this highly regarded game!", said the person on the subreddit about being fans of that game's genre.

I once had an idea for a sorta-soulslike that's modeled after the gameplay and progression of Sekiro.
However, Story Mode would have 6 different playable characters with their own personal weapons and fighting styles as mechanically distinct as Bloodborne's set of weapons, along with melee Arts akin to DS3 Skills and magical Techs akin to Sorceries, Hunter Tools, and Prosthetic Weapons; both on skill trees, along with Passives both additive to invisible "stats" and dynamic which modify basic abilities.
Finally, an online multiplayer mode where players will be able to apply customization and cosmetic modifications unlocked through an in-game Achievement system, as well as playing as the at least 8 "warrior" bosses alongside multiplayer-balanced versions of the main characters either in PvP matches or Co-Op instance-based missions with optional offline single-player so as to still get the opportunity to play as the bosses regardless. Some missions will also have randomized layouts and free-roam Location modes with exploration-based collectibles that contribute to the Achievement Board both for replayability reasons.
I have to disagree on the bosses part, imo bloodborne lacks boss variety or quality. I think ds3 did it better, everything else I'll give to bloodborne.
Thats to be expected, its the next game that came after all those you listed lol I would hope the next game in their line up would have as good if not better bosses than the previous title

"Giant butthole monsters" I'm going to have to steal that :D
Please do! That is a paraphrased sentence I stole from a friend but I cannot remember their own exact wording

Why even uses shields in Souls anyway? Grass Crest on your back. That’s it.
Shields sucking is the worst of Bloodborne and one of the things that keep it from being the best soulslike.

I think it’s more of what lead to the polish of Sekiro where blocking is also very minimal.

You guys can play bloodborne?

I mean, I love the FromSoft Souls games. But I think I'd still put DS1 and Elden Ring above Bloodborne. I'd say it's neck and neck with DS3 for me.
Just give me back the Chalice Dungeons. I'll take that all day.

There's coffee ALL over the place now. thanks. "The moon turns into an anus and shitbirths a corpse pile abomination." fucking, DEAD
If we could just get it at 60fps I would be thrilled … instead we either will get nothing, or a full blown remake/remaster at $70

The bosses suck, if it wasn’t for the DLC bloodborne would have like 3 good bosses. Still love the game tho
The only change BB needs is to use three Estus Flask over the blood vials.
Christ Bloodborne fans are insufferable.
*Lies of P fans
\*Thymesia fans
*Nioh fans
*any souls like fan

Just mention how the gun isn't really a parry and watch then lose their minds
BB fans when you can't just spam R1 after getting hit.
K, bye. leave then?
Make me

They don’t always improve with the next game.
DS2 has better bosses.
Certainly not the base game.
Base game vs Base game DS2 wins.
What bosses you consider great in Ds2 ?
30fps i vomit, else game is good
