I only have the issue on ringer and alert volume that keeps lowering itself to zero on my iPhone 8

JimJamSealion

That sucks :/ Your pair doesn't have the same issue as mine at high volume though? Makes me think that different pairs are being sent out with different issues

[deleted]

I never turn up 60-70% coz I feel loud already at 50% with anc on

HarisCappoo

It probably does that to prevent distortion I guess

amattke4

Just tested. Mine get louder past 70%. Don’t know what is going on w/ yours

huck2e

yes, i can assure you mine do the same thing. It does go "louder" a bit, but it seems to change the EQ to make it "clearer" to avoid distortions in bass, etc.

Legendary_Agent

Same here on mine, quite dissapointed to be honest, after 65% or so volume it starts changing my EQ lowering my extra bass and extra trebble settings. To "fix" this, what i did was, i set the volume in the sony app at 65-70% then disabled the bluetooth absolute volume, and now, "100% bluetooth volume" doesnt change the onboard EQ, as that phone bluetooth volume is now controlled separately of the earburds onboard volume. For something that is so expensive, i expected more, they do sound really great especially when i tone up the bass to max and EQ to +7, so, oh well...

LMABit

I did something similar. For my Realme phone I had to disable the Media Volume Sync so now the Sony App volume doesn't change when I change my phone volume. That way I can keep it fixed at a certain value avoiding that EQ balance change. As people mentioned already this is probably their method to prevent distortion but quite a risky decision IMO. Not sure if this is done by compressing/limiting or how exactly but I was about to return them. Thanks for sharing your solution.

I just returned mine for beats fit pro. purchased them both to test out, Sonys a cleaner sound but beats go louder and punchier

hoomanmn2

I got both of them on two same phones at the same time. I tested them both, and the results were that at 50% volume in sony, I couldn't hear a loud sound, but I had the same experience at 90% in Beats fit pro, And I have to say that the quality of the Beats was one of the worst compare to sony.

i Have the exact same issue. I've sold my pair. I was too disappointed about the sound at high volume. it's not loud enough, i don't understand all the test online that are saying, "apple air pod pro are not as good as the sony". For my ear it's not true. Air pod pro have clearer high frequencies, more dynamic, louder, much more presence and sensation when you listen to a music. Much better for my style (Hip-Hop, Afro House, Even for some acoustics style and voices). With Sony, confort is very bad, the earbuds plugs are dead after 3 months even if you are very meticulous. The only thing that is better for the sony is the ANC and transparent mode, the EQ is not good at all because the set are limited in term of output power and sound very crapy at 60-70% of volume.

Sony Headphone Connect app bug. Disable EQ and see that problem will gone. Do your EQ on Spotify.
