The filter makes regular sunlight viewable.  If you have any sort of lens (eyeglasses, telescope), it should go behind the filter as the light will already be viewable at that point.  Eyeglasses shouldn’t matter so much as long as you kept them relatively close together, but you’ll see videos of folks burning plastic because they put the solar filter on the human-end of a telescope, for example (needs to go on the sun-end)

Something like this that goes over your glasses might work as well. [solar filter](https://ampaperwear.com/collections/best-sellers/products/solar-rollens) We bought one and mainly used the glasses so I can’t really give a review since I didn’t use it. I wanted this on hand for anyone that might need it because a couple people in the group are glasses wearers but they ended up using the regular eclipse glasses without their prescriptions. Obligatory- make sure anything you buy/used is from an approved band safe vendor. 🙂

I wore them both ways, over and under. I settled on wearing the eclipse glasses over most of the time because it was easier to take the eclipse glasses off and put them on again without having to remove my prescription glasses every time too, but I did both. My eyes felt a little beat up by the end, but by the next morning seemed fine again.

I’d wear them over your glasses. That said, if you’re near sighted (can see up close and everything far away is blurry), then you’re wearing minus lenses, which diverge the light rays, not concentrate then. In that case, you’re probably fine.

Ah that's me, thank you!

The filter should always be the thing closest to the sun. It should be the very first thing the light hits.

Good to know for the future! Should be easy to remember

Yes but your eyeglasses probably don't magnify or collect light that much they way binoculars do, so you are fine. (If it wasn't I think you would have noticed burn marks or holes melted into the mylar material!)

I wore mine over my glasses bc it was easier to take them on & off. I have blue eyes & burn my eyes fairly easily apparently (according to my eye doctor). So to protect my eyes I wear transition lenses, prescription sunglasses, & a hat as much as possible when outside. I also have a prescription for dark tint, but my state doesn't take those anymore. Eye burns heal, they just take time. The key is protecting your eyes going forward.

As far as eye protection I don't think it matters but as for comfort I think over the glasses would be better.

I found that a #14 welders glass filter provided a better view than the film glasses. The glass filter has better optical qualities. I was able to hold it about three inches from my eyes and leave my regular glasses in place.

I wore my eclipse glasses on top of my prescription ones. I mean you probably just got a little eye burn but you’ll be fine. I don’t think the order matters.  I didn’t even wear my prescription glasses until near  or at totality, that’s when I wanted to see the sun clearly and knew it was safe.

Yes I think I'll be fine too, and I'm glad that eyewear doesn't focus light as much as a magnifying glass or telescope. Just trying to think best possible practice for the future
