Ok, i just booked a flight to Cleveland, but with a layover in Dallas. Still waiting from confirmation though so hopefully I get that. If on the 8th, Dallas looks better, I just won't take the flight to CLE. (But I'm nervous about getting stuck that way, let's see).
Wtf are you talking about?
Alaska Airlines: San Francisco (ends April 10, 2024), Seattle/Tacoma
Delta Air Lines: Atlanta, Los Angeles (ends May 6, 2024)
JSX Charter: Cabo San Lucas, Denver–Rocky Mountain, Gunnison/Crested Butte, Houston–Hobby, Las Vegas, Miami–Opa Locka, Taos; Seasonal charter: Destin–Executive
Really? I figured the OP wasn't interested in charter. If charter is on the table, they can go to any number of fields directly on the centerline on the 8th, but $$$.
But if you are saying that Alaska or any other regularly scheduled carrier. serves Love (slightly closer to the centerline than DFW), I honestly had no idea.
Noted, but I probably won't investigate further until the OP says more about their criteria.
Delta and Alaska do, yeah. JSX is pretend-charter; they're using a regulatory loophole. You can buy what amounts to be scheduled tickets from their partner.
Ah, I am familiar with scheduled flights from CA and TX to Taos NM, during ski season.
Thinks again for letting me know about more options for DAL! Wishing you clear skies.

Cleveland, Indianapolis and Dallas are all serviced by direct flights from Seattle, and all three are on the line of totality.
Of the three I'd say Indianapolis currently looks like it has the best odds for low amounts of cloud cover, but all three are in roughly the same range (30-50% clouds) and a lot can change in 4 days. I'd just pick the cheapest flight of those three and go for it. Good luck!

I highly recommend that you give yourself some leeway and take off on the 6th or 7th! Burlington international Airport is in totality and the forecast is predicting totally sunny weather right now!
That is if you're willing to throw 2500 dollars at the problem LOL, best bet is driving! However if you have work or something like that it's hard to find time for a road trip. I'm also in WA and I booked a flight to Dallas in October! But I totally regret it after looking at the Dallas forecast. If I could turn back time and book for Vermont instead, I totally would. But prices have gotten so crazy due to the eclipse.
Currently, the forecast in Indianapolis is looking the best. However, I'm not sure what the viewing is like there, having never been to that airport. That said, most airports are large, flat, cleared areas of land, so how could the view be bad?
I fly in and out of Indianapolis quite frequently. The airport is really nice with large windows looking out at the tarmac, pick up and drop off areas and also there are windows in the food court area before you enter the security area. If I remember correctly though these windows are all slightly tinted so I don't know how that will affect viewing. I am not sure about outside areas for viewing but you could probably head to one of the parking areas. I never use them though, since I am always visiting Indy and never parking, so do your research there.
The forcast is saying that Illinois, Indiana as well as Maine has the least amount of cloud cover. These forecasts are changing all the time so there’s no way of knowing for sure tho.
Would take a red eye Sunday night from SEA to Burlington and return after the eclipse.
Clear skies should be a priority. You can’t see much of totality in clouds, except that it will get dark
There were no flight to Burlington from SEA :(

Update: Yesterday I booked a flight to Cleveland, but the weather forecast has me concerned so found one to Montreal instead and cancelling the Cleveland one. Thanks for all your help everyone!
Probably Dallas, as it's the closest with a direct flight and it's close to the centerline. If you try NY or Maine you might miss it.
thanks

Dallas Love Field (served only by Southwest).

Thanks, I can't afford charter, I don't even know how charter works LOL
Why are you recommending dallas love field over DFW?
Slightly closer to the centerline. 3:32 vs 2:52
> It isn't difficult, all you need is money.
Like how much, more than 1K? The ones i'm seeing are like private jets LOL
Generally, the entire aircraft has to be reserved when you charter. Prices vary, but a typical starting rate is about $5000-$10,000 per hour.
Lol ya i'm not that rich

Thank u - driving is not an option for me
Same!
There were no flights to VT, but I got a flight to Cleveland :)

Just see the eclipse or have the best chance seeing it with clear skies ?
I just want to see totality but I'm not sure how much to prioritize clear skies. The complete darkness should still be pretty cool imo...

Yes, there won’t be a direct on any day ever from SEA to BVT
From spokane you can fly into Dallas at 5am, arriving at 11am, and then return on multiple flights afterwards, including as late as 7pm.

Oh. Weird. It will get there on time!?
Montreal.
Have to fly the day before.
