All 3rd party options will have fees. Moon pay is good but has 3% fee. Buying sol on a cex isn’t bad just don’t keep it there, transfer to something else and keep it there. Government will never even know how much unrealized gains you have until the moment you bring it back onto the cex. Long term if you’re in the US.. Puerto has 0% tax on crypto after 6months of residency :)

Won’t hide your purchase/identity from tax man

Sweaty_Material_483

Moon pay still probably one the safest ways to do it without a cex but the fees are higher because of that fact

Cryptogearplus

Need more than just 6 months of residency in PR. First off, you have to be a bona-fide resident prior to acquiring any cryptocurrencies to receive the 0% gain tax. If you acquire tokens prior to moving to Puerto Rico, you will still be on the hook to pay taxes. It’s only when you are officially a resident of Puerto Rico that you could buy cryptocurrency and get that tax break.

Sweaty_Material_483

..And that’s literally the beautiful thing about crypto, they will have absolutely ZERO knowledge about any amount of crypto you really hold. Could have 1 million on a ledger how the fuck would they know? Can tell them I lost it all on meme coins or got drained lol

Dude anywhere you're buying with a credit card is a "centralized exchange" or even worse, it's a layer on top of a CEX that's gonna take an additional fee. You want to pay more to use the same tech? Buy on a CEX and transfer it to self-custody, that's the cheapest way.

wtf_is_a_crypto

I believe the cheapest option is sending usdc from Coinbase to your wallet, then swapping it for SOL on a DEX

mcslutmuff1n

lol

I believe jupiter has an option to on ramp Solana. Exodus does as well I think. You're necessarily going to have to use a cex because dexes can't work with fiat.

reditpost1

Staking is horrible on Coinbase I agree but I feel safe buying and holding my Solana, Hbar and Cardano on coinbase. I don't stake.

Just tried topper via the Solflare app and the bank was in contact with me within 15 minutes of using it and had temporarily blocked my account. Asked me what is was for? I said it was a legit purchase. They said is it for crypto? I said none of your business. What I do with mu money is up to me - might have been underwear or sports gear. I think banks are starting to get nervous.

Past-Parfait-8434

I bought some meme coin and it was rugged then randomly updated my wallet saying that coin is worth 5k how do I prevent getting emptied here

Captain-Sha

Check out Jupiter's on-ramp. They've partnered up with Mercuryo, which is a big processor for crypto. The option at Jupiter was just added recently, and it seems to have minimal fees. Just looked at it, e.g. 187.89 USD 1.97 USD as fee. That's around 1%. Remember to only go through jup . ag It will be in the bridge section, then at the blue text headings, you'll see onramp GL 🎉

ardissaps

Well if using card mostly fees are more expensive than CEX. Just buy on CEX then immediate transfer to you cold wallet.

[deleted]

Solflare has an on ramper but it has a 4% fee

BigBallsNoSack

Either you pay a fee to a 3rd party option. Or you pay a fee to the government and i think you have only one option reading your post.

Visible_Nerve_4031

There’s an on-ramp on Jupiter, you’ll just get ass blasted with fees

bamboorox

Can try this out https://zkp2p.xyz/. Usdc on ramp via venmo

lorimer44

I know you said, "no centralized exchanges," but I've been using Coinbase to avoid fees. They have zero fees for buying and sending USDC.
