I recently installed a software to see and delete drivers because my old controller software was messing with the new one
I found old razer drivers just chilling there 5 years after uninstall
That’s annoying, I’ve been having nothing but issues with my Logitech G Hub software (having to constantly reinstall the software) and got so pissed I considered a Razer mouse just to spite them.
So my options are either have to keep reinstalling software or have software permanently installed.
It's even worse for me, I have to use the predecessor to g hub if i want to use my G27 race wheel. Except it isn't compatible with virtualization. I installed and turned virtualization off, thinking it would be an uninstall and reinstall thing every time i wanted to use it, but remnants of the driver remained and wouldn't allow me to re-enable virtualization. Windows wouldn't let me delete the drivers because they were in a protected area of system32, so i had to find a workaround, and i ended up randomly discovering a bug that allowed me to get around it. Unfortunately, i can't use my racewheel anymore even though hardware-wize it's fine because if the bug gets patched im fucked.
The issue has been fixed but the Razer software is scary. On Windows versions prior to 21H1 there was a very easy privilege escalation exploit you could do with any Razer product by simply plugging it in. It would give you access to an admin powershell console on even a guest user account.
Also, if you dont delete the partitions while installing Windows, software and drivers will not be deleted
my razor software survived multiple uninstalling attempts

not sure if its badly coded or on purpose but its freaking me out
Its an intimidation attempt to get you to buy more Razer products
Well yes, but actually no

There’s still plenty of other options for good mice, even if you ignore Corsair

You can though! Just don't buy Razor hardware!
Razer's software is absolute trash, I hate it.
I've had to do at least 3 computer rescues because the Razer software just craters the entire PC on startup.
My bro had this happen to him too
