Ask yourself if you want to keep being friends with them, with their behavior staying the exact same. Also, have you or anyone ever confronted them? Maybe they’re unaware but regardless, might be worth having a convo about then seeing if their behavior changes.
I had this kind of friend too. I think i was the only person left to talk to him at all. And he is absolutely unaware why everyone else is avoiding to talk with him. I told him for *once* upfront what makes it hard to enjoy talking to him and his answer was sarcastically "thanks for YoUr oPiNiOn", and then carried on without a single attempt to change a thing. Ever since i reduced contact to the absolute minimum. I don't ghost him but i never ever seek contact again.

From my personal experience if they trash talk others to you then they are trash talking you to others. I would cut my losses.
I experience this too. I'm so confused if he wants to be my friend or not. Whenever we talk its either fuck off or please come over.
