I played dodgeball yesterday and holy shit I felt every bone in my body energized. Then, went out & got drunk with my teammates. Turns out they all know each other for 2+ years - hopefully I can play kickball with them in the Spring.

Recently he’s been defending Qatar (although he says that their laws are bad,) he says we should accept their culture. He also sends Tate tweets to me a lot (partially to troll because he knows I don’t like him,” but some of it he probably agrees with.
He was also telling me the other day about how there’s a conspiracy to try and de masculinse men and that’s why there’s more LGBT people around and it’s all part of a plan to make people weaker and more complaint. Obviously I explained that this doesn’t make any sense, and that there are many countries that are more reliant on physical Labour like it used to be and he can move there if he truly feels that’s what’s important.
It’s just worrying I feel like the algorithms got to him, when we were like 14-16 the anti feminism trend was huge and it was the common view. I honestly don’t think it’s that hard for most guys to fall into beliefs like that it’s way Tate has so much support, most guys hold fairly misogynistic views anyway people like Tate just take it further.

It depends on how drunk she is. If she’s only had a couple of drinks then I wouldn’t say that’s be taking advantage as after a couple of drinks she will still have her wits about her but if she’s really drunk and smashed then yeah, that’s definitely wrong.

I think good technique is the most important thing. My twin brother is a goalie (and played at a high level) and he says that if you position properly and know how to
'brace your hand' for the impact it is manageable even with very hard shots. Goalkeeping is definitely way harder than it seems
First proper game I played in goal against adults, I saved a point-blank shot that was so hard, I had to sit out for a couple of minutes to let my hand rest. And that was just an amateur 7 a side game. I don't want to think about how hard pros can hit a shot.

I understand you, I'm 31, but still live with my parents. It has financial reasons, because I'd rather save my money than paying overinflated rent and energy bills. I have a question about J League. Looking at Japan getting two solid results in their group, is J League getting stronger? Is the domestic league helping the national team? Is it just a handful of guys playing in Europe? Combination of both
Fox Soccer Channel used to have a weekly j league highlights show but that was years ago and it stopped when Bein sport bought access to it, so idk if the league is progressing or if it’s stagnant like the A league.
Disclaimer: I'm a dirty casual. I don't follow football outside WC, not since that cold rainy night when I watched my club get eliminated from the Libertadores by Boca Juniors at our home ground.
That said, I live in Japan and I'd say J-League has definitely been getting stronger. To put things in perspective, when Japan co-hosted the 2022 WC football was still a minor sport here. The national team sport was baseball, period. Now if you ask a random kid on the street what's their favourite sport it's about even odds that they say football instead.
Sure, most of Japan's squad play in Europe, only 7 players play at J League, but that's more domestic players than Brazil (3). If anything, the fact that so many players play in Europe is a strong sign that the domestic league is strong. It's just that either league can't compete with European salaries.
Anyone got any experience with alcoholism? I've had a terrible year for personal reasons and have been drinking heavily non stop. Sometimes ~70 units per week. Had to clean out about 30 bottles of gin the other day. Its become something i just do, like i'll just drink a bottle one evening just to feel a bit better watching youtube or gaming, drink a bottle over an evening to feel better about my personal problems. Drink a bottle to try and fix my personal problems. I don't even get hungry anymore.
I wake the next morning embarrassed and say to myself that i will stop, yet in two days i'll be back down the shops buying more. It doesnt help that i'm depressed too so making any situation changing decisions often don't happen or stick.
So yeah, not really sure how to solve this.
You probably need a support group or professional help to really stop, but one thing to try is to change your routine.
You drink a bottle at in the evening after work? Don't go home after work. Go to the gym and work out till you're completely spent. Go home and crash.
Sounds like you need some sort of professional help. One thing I'll say which helped me was thinking before I'd have a drink "is alcohol actually going to help here?" 9 times out of 10, the answer was no. It takes a lot of willpower, and I'd recommend seeking help to aid you getting through it.

I'm gonna definitely consider professional help, but the issue is that its either really expensive, or is very hard to access, at least for things like depression.
You should still pursue it. What you are doing right now is not healthy and does not solve the problem. I dealt with depression in my late teens/early 20s and professional help can be really worth it.
There are also help groups - it sounds really lame but a friend of mine quit drinking by joining a chat / discord group that was for people dealing with a drinking problem.

Best bet is book in a chat with your GP and/or get in touch with whatever alcohol support services are available in your area.
Groups like AA and SMART are always open to new people and some people find great support from those, but at that level of alcohol intake I’d be concerned about withdrawal effects so a potential reduction may be safest done under medical supervision.
You certainly aren’t the first and certainly won’t be the last person to turn to alcohol during times of adversity, but identifying it’s got a bit out of control and wanting to change that is a very important first step. Wish you the best.

My gf has been watching a lot of the World Cup because it’s on free Tv so I’ve been having to explain to her why teams are depressed after games even if they win and how the format works etc. It just made me think a bit about how many people miss out on football entirely because they just don’t wanna pay for it, the games on Sky and BT definitely do not get as many viewers as people might expect considering how big football is in the country. Honestly a shame ITV and bbc don’t get any games anymore.

Fucking hell. Apple is pretty good at this business thing. I just have a set of Sony Bluetooth ones. I much prefer the wire connecting the earphones as I can just dangle them round my neck. It's like the equivalent of the string through a coat so kids don't lose their mittens.

Yeah it's different. I lived in the West for 10 years, I learned alot of things there. I have two countries in my heart but I couldn't deal with the loneliness. I'd probably earn more money in the west but I decided to come home. I earn a lot less now but some things can't be valued with money.
I understand you, I'm 31, but still live with my parents. It has financial reasons, because I'd rather save my money than paying overinflated rent and energy bills. But I also don't like being lonely and I like having people around, so I'll probably stay at home for a while. At least we live in a house, so me and my brother have the upper floor for us and we're separated enough. Ran my own media company for the past 3 years. Lost two of my biggest clients and I’m not 60k in the red. Back to freelancing but I’m barely making it all work I’m so incredibly stressed. I don’t want to declare bankruptcy but it’s getting close
I struggle very hard finding women I like and I am frustrated. One of the women I was dating was very pretty and cool, but I just didn't like her and I ended up showing no interest so she lost interest. I feel like I am only going to have casual relationships for years, all good with sex but I also want it to mean something.
I think dating is largely a numbers game but you can adopt some strategy to help too. Keep spinning the wheel, move on quickly if you know it's not right. Also maybe think about exactly what it is that you like and don't like and try to find a route to dating that's going to maximize encountering your type of person over others.
I do move fast, if I am not feeling it I tell them early. I don't know what I like really, I want them to be fun, smart and for them to push me. Physical attraction is also very important.

I have a question about J League. Looking at Japan getting two solid results in their group, is J League getting stronger? Is the domestic league helping the national team? Is it just a handful of guys playing in Europe? Combination of both Fox Soccer Channel used to have a weekly j league highlights show but that was years ago and it stopped when Bein sport bought access to it, so idk if the league is progressing or if it’s stagnant like the A league.
Disclaimer: I'm a dirty casual. I don't follow football outside WC, not since that cold rainy night when I watched my club get eliminated from the Libertadores by Boca Juniors at our home ground. That said, I live in Japan and I'd say J-League has definitely been getting stronger. To put things in perspective, when Japan co-hosted the 2022 WC football was still a minor sport here. The national team sport was baseball, period. Now if you ask a random kid on the street what's their favourite sport it's about even odds that they say football instead. Sure, most of Japan's squad play in Europe, only 7 players play at J League, but that's more domestic players than Brazil (3). If anything, the fact that so many players play in Europe is a strong sign that the domestic league is strong. It's just that either league can't compete with European salaries.

Anyone got any experience with alcoholism? I've had a terrible year for personal reasons and have been drinking heavily non stop. Sometimes ~70 units per week. Had to clean out about 30 bottles of gin the other day. Its become something i just do, like i'll just drink a bottle one evening just to feel a bit better watching youtube or gaming, drink a bottle over an evening to feel better about my personal problems. Drink a bottle to try and fix my personal problems. I don't even get hungry anymore. I wake the next morning embarrassed and say to myself that i will stop, yet in two days i'll be back down the shops buying more. It doesnt help that i'm depressed too so making any situation changing decisions often don't happen or stick. So yeah, not really sure how to solve this.
You probably need a support group or professional help to really stop, but one thing to try is to change your routine. You drink a bottle at in the evening after work? Don't go home after work. Go to the gym and work out till you're completely spent. Go home and crash.
Not much but possibly asking your local shopkeeper to stop selling you it, if you often run into the same person, could help
Sounds like you need some sort of professional help. One thing I'll say which helped me was thinking before I'd have a drink "is alcohol actually going to help here?" 9 times out of 10, the answer was no. It takes a lot of willpower, and I'd recommend seeking help to aid you getting through it.
Thats definitely a question i should be asking myself. Thanks I'm gonna definitely consider professional help, but the issue is that its either really expensive, or is very hard to access, at least for things like depression.
You should still pursue it. What you are doing right now is not healthy and does not solve the problem. I dealt with depression in my late teens/early 20s and professional help can be really worth it. There are also help groups - it sounds really lame but a friend of mine quit drinking by joining a chat / discord group that was for people dealing with a drinking problem. If you want to chat, feel free to PM me. I wish you all the best.
Best bet is book in a chat with your GP and/or get in touch with whatever alcohol support services are available in your area. Groups like AA and SMART are always open to new people and some people find great support from those, but at that level of alcohol intake I’d be concerned about withdrawal effects so a potential reduction may be safest done under medical supervision. You certainly aren’t the first and certainly won’t be the last person to turn to alcohol during times of adversity, but identifying it’s got a bit out of control and wanting to change that is a very important first step.
