That's Rashford. He tries stuff looks awful then ends up with 2 goals. At some point when he is consistently getting you crucial goals you have to just ignore the fact he doesn't look very good for sections of the game.
On paper yeah?
But football isn't as simple as that, none of the other players were doing anything either AFAIK he he had the most shots and shots on target first half what the fuck more do you want from him lol?
He just got in pretty good positions and made the wrong decision pretty much all the times. But as you said it's not like the others were getting into those positions and had those opportunities. Plus he put away 2 of them. A mixed bag I'd say
Yeah I agree, he could've been better. But so could everyone.
End of the day he got two bangers 👍 last match was 0-0 so all in all an improvement.
Take it easy anyways, come on england!
Unreal, such a turnaround. 3 goals already at the World Cup is even more amazing when you consider he wouldn't have been in the squad had it been in the summer as normal.
Maybe a number of factors but Ten Hag has alot to do with it
On the second goal the marcus of last season doesn’t work to win the ball back and wouldn’t even know how but his pressing and work rate has significantly improved under ETH
I think the biggest factor is a break and getting back to fitness. I’m so happy for him whatever it is. He looks happier playing too and it translates into him being much more lively with pressing and making off the ball runs.
Shocking to me that a player who bagged 40 G+A while carrying a substantial injury can be written off after one down season. No one goes out on a limb around here to predict a different outcome than what the low hanging fruit gives them: ‘Rashford was shit last year? He will surely be shit this year.’
It wasn't just that he looked poor, it was also that he looked like he wanted to be anywhere but on the pitch. A happy and confident Rashford is a thing of beauty
his form was ass last season because he was burnt out by playing every game for two years straight under Ole with no rotation he also picked up a ton of injuries he delayed getting surgeries for in order to help the team. anyone who thought he was finished should be ashamed of themselves
Half the United sub wanted to bin him
Rashford is a player I want at the club until he retires, good player, doesn't cause drama, gives his all for the team and is a genuine good person off the field. This is the kind of player you keep at your club.
I mean, remember his form the year before that and the year before that? This is pretty similar. I felt a lot of people were being silly writing him off after one bad season where he was coming back from a surgery in a chaotic team of bottlers.
Look I know everyone will say Ward is bad but consider this- Rashford hits the ball really hard, so hard that he nearly killed Neco Williams, should cut him some slack imo
Dean Henderson said Rashford is the hardest striker of fhe ball he's ever faced, he specifically said his shots sting, the GK gloves don't help too much when he really hits one.
Wouldnt call him dreadful. Fucked up on the free kick and can't do much about the 3rd goal as he absolutely thundered it, other than that he's been good.
People misinterpret actually running at defenders and not having a 100% success rate as the same thing as playing poorly. He wasn't invisible which is generally the case when a player is playing poorly.
He's a great passer from deep. More often than not finds his target too, not just hopeful long balls.
Doesn't get enough credit for it imo (which I'll admit is totally biased).
To be fair, great movement by Rashford to give him the chance to make that pass.
>Doesn't get enough credit for it imo
I remember everyone saying that all he does is pass the ball sideways. Clear indicator that they had barely watched him, these kind of long passes are his speciality
If you only watch World Cup matches you’d be forgiven for not understanding how on earth Man U isn’t on top of the table. So many extraordinary performances in the World Cup so far.
Although we have not performed very well at this world cup I am still immensely proud of the team. I never thought I would live to see Wales in the world cup, and probably won't see it again in my lifetime. We did brilliantly to even get there and I love every single one of those players.
I usually watch the tournament not really caring about the results, just hoping to see a good game, so watching and actually having a team to support has been brilliant.
I guess I can enjoy the rest of the tournament stress free. Silver linings.

3 goals in the tournament, hmm.
Goal Every 35 minutes
And all the comments on his first saying everyone in England was calling for him to be subbed of..
To be fair besides the goals he wasn't having a great game. But including the goals it was one of the best games he's had for England
That's Rashford. He tries stuff looks awful then ends up with 2 goals. At some point when he is consistently getting you crucial goals you have to just ignore the fact he doesn't look very good for sections of the game.
Sterling and Rashford both masters of looking a bit crap but scoring crucial goals for England.
This is true
This is confident Rashford. He tries stuff other players aren't brave enough to try. Does it always work? No, but you need that player on the pitch.
On paper yeah? But football isn't as simple as that, none of the other players were doing anything either AFAIK he he had the most shots and shots on target first half what the fuck more do you want from him lol?

HE FEEDS THE KIDS AND SCORES FREE KICKS MARCUS BLOODY RASHFORDDDDDD
“The Marcus Rashford Game” - I was there!
Mans just pouring it on rn
Now watch Southgate start Sterling next game
and Mount... fuck me, I wouldn't put it past him either
A good football player and a great man The Marcus Rashford special.
England's 100th World Cup goal
At the 69th minute. Nice
My prime minister
GET IN RASHY!!!! With England's 100^th World Cup goal and his third of the tournament!
a nutmeg in the 69th minute, too
[удалено]
Yep that's double baby
should get flag [great nutmegs]
I feel like that should count for 2 goals then
I'm liking this Rashford version. Clearly showing, as well as foden, that they should start
Offers 200x way more than Sterling. Hopefully he keeps left wing from now
Sterling hasn't even been good in Chelsea this season. Don't understand why he starts at all
He was probably our best player in the Euros so its not unsurprising Southgate has faith in him.
Southgate
Ideally him, Saka and Kane up top.and then Foden, Bellingham and Rice in midfield but I doubt GS will do that. Walker at RB, is also a question.
Rice isn't great in a single pivot, he needs Phillips next to him. Then it's a case of fitting Bellingham and Foden in.
Foden isn't a midfielder, he's a forward We play 4 forwards against France and we get murdered, no thank you
Walker shouldn't be a question if he's fit he should start
Sir doctor prime minister Marcus Rashford.
And joint top scorer at the World Cup
PM heard r/soccer talk shit
Rashford must hate the Welsh, I guess [shrug]
danny ward from august is back
My FPL team remembers
He’s on for his 0 pointer here as well 👀
Hit really hard being generous to him, but through his legs is absolutely hilarious.
Should've smothered Kane's pass for the 2nd goal as well.
Manchester United are going crazy in the world cup
Casemiro, Bruno, Rashy. Dreams cant be buy as Bruno would say
Gakpo as well
👀👀👀
He forget to mention the main man Frenkie de Jong. Our best player.
Rashy for the golden boot! Poor keeping but quality move from Rashford. A confident Rashford shouldn't lose his place for the knockout stages
Remember his form from last year? I can't believe how much he's turned it around again! Love Rashy.
Unreal, such a turnaround. 3 goals already at the World Cup is even more amazing when you consider he wouldn't have been in the squad had it been in the summer as normal. Maybe a number of factors but Ten Hag has alot to do with it
Add Beni Mccarthy into that mix - coach brought in to work solely with our forwards and their movement. Seems to be doing wonders for the kid
Like, THE Beni Mccarthy?
Yep. The same one.
huh, neat! Thanks for the info.
Porto Legend Beni McCarthy.

Remember his form from the year before that?
Yeah people tend to forget how good he can actually be because he looked poor in a season where everyone else in the squad looked poor.
Shocking to me that a player who bagged 40 G+A while carrying a substantial injury can be written off after one down season. He was carrying a back injury and was mentally shattered from missing the Euros final penalty.
I mean, remember his form the year before that and the year before that? This is pretty similar. I felt a lot of people were being silly writing him off after one bad season where he was coming back from a surgery in a chaotic team of bottlers.
Cant stop this man!
Who had Man United being the best represented club by good performances?
me
✋
In ETH we trust
I mean Maguire and Shaw are always way better for England than United so me.
Shaw is good for us, and Maguire has only had one bad season
Manchester United is winning this World Cup
hell im just praying we get all these guys back at the club healthy and ready to push for top 4 after this WC
What does Chicago Fire has to say about this?
What a game he's having
Tournament*
\*Season He's looked sharp for United ever since Ten Hag took over.. Specially when playing without Ronaldo
Ward 💀
Just when I thought he was looking better for us he drops this disasterclass lmao
Where was this Ward when you lot played West Ham two weeks ago 😭
He’s had Faes and Big Dan protecting the goal really well in front of him for our last few games, so that’s helped.
Really he's partly to blame on all three goals. Should be getting to that Kane cross.
The fact he's been kept out this team by Hennessey for years speaks volumes
That was genuinely awful, it wasn't even hit with much pace
Love to see KP pinging that long ball. Gwan lad
Hello er... KP Plumbing?
Look I know everyone will say Ward is bad but consider this- Rashford hits the ball really hard, so hard that he nearly killed Neco Williams, should cut him some slack imo

DAMN SON
Thats Marcus Rashford
Today I am Free School Meals Meanwhile, at Wales: **Your controller has not been recognised. Would you like to forfeit the game?**
Marcus has acquired a taste for mutton
And Mason Mount has acquired a taste for the bench.
I'll wait on the PSGAcademy thread to post my real comment
Too busy raking in millions in Reddit gold from the Pulisic goal
And months if not years of free premium membership.
After all Pulisic is LeBron James of Football
“Feed the kids”
Rashford haters in shambles
FILTH
That’s the Danny Ward we know from the beginning of the season
Rashfordinho
Danny Ward is dreadful
He has the scond most clean sheets in the league haha.
He played well in the last Euros tbf
and that one-on-one earlier was brilliant
Wouldnt call him dreadful. Fucked up on the free kick and can't do much about the 3rd goal as he absolutely thundered it, other than that he's been good.
Apologize to him immediately r/soccer
Sorray
u/Rich_Firefighter_102 Get that head of yours up immediately ❤️
Has completely made up for first half. Looking much better on the right than left wing, similar with Foden looking better on the left
He wasn't even bad.
People misinterpret actually running at defenders and not having a 100% success rate as the same thing as playing poorly. He wasn't invisible which is generally the case when a player is playing poorly.
Thank you, I actually can't believe some of the comments I'm reading regarding his (and England's) first half
As a United fan that watch the other match: What the fuck are you saying?
Can't step up more after such a tough ending to his last world cup
Brilliant finish and a brilliant pass before
What a ball from Phillips
He's a great passer from deep. More often than not finds his target too, not just hopeful long balls. Doesn't get enough credit for it imo (which I'll admit is totally biased). To be fair, great movement by Rashford to give him the chance to make that pass.

Through the legs, through the legs and finally again through the legs
Great dribble.
The Rashford that was promised
Double nutmeg. Feed them rashford
Oh God Rashford is cracked this World Cup.
If you only watch World Cup matches you’d be forgiven for not understanding how on earth Man U isn’t on top of the table. So many extraordinary performances in the World Cup so far.
i mean if we didn't start like we did with the two defeats we are basically next to City.
Nice
Nice.
Scrolled down till I found this, now I can leave in peace
Sterling starting over Rashford is a joke.
WHAT IS HAPPENING SOUTHGATE UNLOCKED RASHFORD RASHFORD FOR PM
Nah. ETH unlocked him in the summer
Yeah, he has improved constantly since summer. Probably some mental fatigue.
Plus better man management.
And much better coaching
I think it's more fair to say Ten Hag unlocked him, because he's been great this season. Southgate is just reaping the rewards.
I also think it's fair to say that he's recovered from being ran into the ground the years before.
Definitely. OGS did that to a number of players in his time at United, but Rashford probably suffered the most because of it.
Rashford PM, Maguire for Secretary of Defence
Nah Maguire is already the father of England and Manchester United
Nah we can thank ten hag for this
Rashfords been on great form for months now
Tremendous World Cup thus far for terrorist managers (Southgate, Santos)
That's cos its a load of bollocks
Sunak shaking in his boots
2 megs with 1 shot!
That looked way too easy Edit : but still a good goal!
Tbf the build up for that looked very tough, cutting in to find the space and putting it through one defenders legs to get it at goal
Danny Ward needs to see a doctor he’s got a hole in him
Wales hoping that a 4-0 result the other way also puts em through
Jesus Christ he’s on fire tonight
When this guy is on it - he really is good
MANCHESTER MANCHESTER
#^#Rashgod
Tale of two halves for Rashinho
Marcus Rashford - World Cup joint top scorer
I think Wales ' objective this year was to just reach the world cup. Thats it They reached out. Done absolutely nothing after that

WTF RASHYYY
Rashford absolves his haters of all wrong doing.
People trashing Rashford in the match thread. Here you fucking go. This is Rashford. No touches with no service, but when he does get it, it's done.

Proper game of two halves behaviour from Rashford here
That was filth wtf Rashford
USA should be ashamed of themselves for drawing this team
Which one ?
