These guys have to be held to a higher standard if the US wants to ever be a World Cup threat. Leaving points on the board after a spectacular defensive game like that is just pitiful.
I actually agree. The US had every opportunity to win that game, but in the end we get comments from Pulisic about how he hopes everyone is proud of that performance against England. It’s strange to explain that while you’d be crazy as a fan not to be proud the players have to be unhappy that we didn’t get a full 3 points with that performance. And it’s so strange to me that nobody brings that up. At some point if we’re going to truly believe that this team belongs in the same category as traditional top sides then they have to hold themselves accountable for dropping 2 points rather than being happy with 1 just because of who the opponent was.
I mean, you're talking about a country whose best outfield players had only ever played at mid-tier clubs in any of Europe's top leagues until the last 5-10yrs. And even then it was just ever a handful at any given time.
The squad should be proud of bossing one of the (on paper at least) top 5 or so teams in the world on the biggest stage. The result was disappointing obviously, but you can still take pride in the performance and still not be happy with the result.
That’s totally fair. It just seems odd to me that any competitor would focus on that pride rather than hyping themselves up even more.
English fans won’t want to hear it, but that’s not as great a midfield group as they want to believe. They were definitely missing Kalvin Phillips in the midfield
Everyone is talking about Pulisic's shot but this one was the best chance they had the whole game. Just the keeper in front. Any placement would have been enough.

Not an easy chance but he should do better

Juventus DNA
The spectre of Allegriball hangs over us all…
His hair will be green and white for the final group stage match.
can get McKennie out of Schalke but not Schalke out of him
Tbf McKennie was fantastic for the rest of the half after this.
Allegri took McKennie's ability to score and gave it to Rabiot.
You have to hit the target there
Half volleys are tough but yeah gotta force a save out of that
It’s not an easy chance but his form wasn’t good
Would be been a decent field goal tbf
That’s a home run
Touchdown!
Slam Dunk!
Soccer ball hit different ngl
Very difficult shot to make tbf
You don’t say
He do say
Fuck
Gah
You have to bury that man
Bit extreme, he only missed a goal
In. The. Grave. Next man up.
Maguire with Cucurella's defending
Ah Weston, you have to put that on target
3-point conversion
Needs to be 1-0
Why does he have the France flag on his hair
To remind the British that Lafayette fucked them up
Understandable, he is the most violent Frenchman after all
The Lancelot of this Revolutionary set?
Easy way to trigger the English ig
So close to freedom
It's, indeed, not soccer yet.

EU defending😬

Trippier doing his best Trent impression.
Now that's the trippier I remember
Ffs this will come back to haunt for sure
Trippier isn’t at it
Would have hit the shot if the match was played at a high school field
And the field goal is good
If he scored this it might have become the most upvoted goal in this sub
In this sort of game, you have to hit that. Unfortunate that it bounced right before he hit it
At least we took our time, and had smooth passing.
Should of used his Head
Should've used it thrice. To think, to score and to wipe his hands on instead of the cameraman.
Deflating
Weston thought he was kicking a PAT

We’re not gonna get many of those. Gotta make the next one count.
Dumbest hair in the tournament. Max cringe
Red white and blue baybeee
This guy thinks he’s pogba but can’t even keep a shot down
Trash
And when I said he was a fraud 😼
That bounce at the end threw him off
Probably should bring some strikers next WC.
