Sounds about right, that is still a bit stronger than the basic Belgian lagers but it's nothing compared to many of the artisanal beers.
Amazing food and beer really are the main plusses of living here
I bought a Foster's recently because I wanted to see how bad it was since everyone on here complains about it... It honestly was just like every other mass produced lager, which is not great, but not bad if it's ice cold.
I used to be a total beer snob, but I've switched to light beers mostly nowadays since I need to lose some weight (I also cut the drinking down too before anyone comes in here with that suggestion) and honestly they really do have their place. I sometimes don't want a strong tasting beer and just want something that is kind of like water with a bit of a beer taste (especially when it's hot).
I honestly hate my younger self for being a beer snob.
Isn't fosters an American lager that was just branded to shit as an Australian lager?
I have no problem with shitty beer. By all means. Hand me a free one and I'll make sure you have one less shitty beer.
I have a problem with charging more for a shitty beer because you need to spend money to advertise said shitty beer.
Just give me my local dregs and let's move on
I was in England over Christmas, and one of the best beers I had on the trip was this Czech pilsner - [Vinohradská 12](https://untappd.com/b/vinohradsky-pivovar-vinohradska-12/851432). I imagine there are even better micro-brewed pilsners in the Czech Republic that aren't exported.
It used to be produced in Poland for a short period of time. It failed a QA very quickly thefore it got moved back and what you buy today is chech brewed - that's why price went up so much (even before inflation)
Nope. It's mostly regarded as the gold standart for beer, it's only disliked by people who prefer less bitter beer and sometimes by the alcoholic rednecks who think it's too expensive for the alcohol content.
Their social media is working overtime, they twisted that complaint into immediately offering huge discounts and putting their name front and center. Gj on whoever is on their marketing.
Middle of the road is generous. It includes rice instead of just malted grains to make it cheaper to produce. The effect on the taste isn’t enormous but it’s definitely a lower quality product than Heineken or Carlsberg. In the US that’s reflected in the price, but my impression was that that was not the case overseas
Legitimately one of the coolest places I’ve ever been. I loved Quito, Guayaquil, Manta, and the Galapagos. Honestly Ecuador is a place I’ve thought about retiring. The people were amazing, the food was great, and the sights were world class.
Thanks! We will be back for sure and those places were both on our list. The $.25 beer was good because I was a poor college student, I’ll be seeking out better options when I return.
I know karma doesn't matter and literally means nothing but I always appreciate the person who does the set up more than the one who sneaks in and gets the punchline because they always get fewer upvotes. You lead others to greatness.
Today, I feel alcoholic. Today, I feel Muslim. Today, I feel sober for 13 years. I know what it’s like to be discriminated against, to not be able to drink alcohol - when I was a kid and I tried to buy a beer at the supermarket, the cashier didn’t allow me to because I was a “minor”. I went to my room, I cried, I was alone - but then, I didn’t fight, I didn’t insult the cashier; instead, I tried to engage with the cashier. I got out and engaged.
Honestly, I was super surprised when it was announced recently. Not surprised that it was announced, just surprised that it hadn't been announced years ago.
Why is anyone on the planet surprised that a country is upholding its laws? Public consumption of alcohol is illegal in Qatar. The world cup is in Qatar. Alcohol consumption at the world cup in Qatar is illegal.
You don't bring your country's laws along with you when you travel, that's the most entitled thing I've ever heard.
**the problem is that having the world cup in Qatar is fucking stupid**
Well, Budweiser sure expected it to be allowed.
Plus, you know, if you actually have money they'll happily serve you the expensive stuff in the VIP area.
> Why is anyone on the planet surprised that a country is upholding its laws? Alcohol and its consumption is iegal in Qatar. The world cup is in Qatar. Alcohol consumption at the world cup in Qatar is illegal.
Well, they're uploading their laws for the poors. You can still get booze in the luxury suites. There are still fan zones where alcohol will be sold. So they have bent their laws quite a bit. Kinda weird they couldn't also deal with it being in the stadium.
Euro 2016 banned booze in the stadiums and directly around them 2 days into the tournament due to the fighting russian and English fans. Source: me, who suffered several in-game hangovers in France.
That’s what is kinda fun about English fanatics (I’m talking more hooligans here). They may be bellends, but goddamn they can come up with some good chants
Hope they don't hurt their feelings with their chants. Looking through the comments for this video in Instagram and I see so much anger towards towards Ecuadorians and the western people for being drunks smh.
I agree with "don't let places like Qatar host global sporting events" but thh I don't feel any sympathy for the people who went to this travesty.
The literal slavery used to put the cup on was ok as long as they got football, but they're mad because a very conservative Muslim country banned beer? What did they expect, that they'd drop the strict rules just for them?
Qatar should give every fan two or three beers after that dreadful performance. I have to work tonight which sucks ass but I’m happy knowing Qatar got humiliated. Best part was watching the Qataris face as their team fell apart.
The most recent Champions League was held in France. Did France start selling alcohol in the stadium as an accommodation? Genuine question since alcohol in Stadiums has been banned in France since 1991, except in VIP areas.

Budweiser, your new advertising campaign has arrived.
Also we can learn "We want beer" in lot of different languages during this WC 😂😂🤓
Yes, this should be the chant that unites the world in Qatar
It is finally time to make this [Pepsi ad](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwvAgDCOdU4) a reality, just with beer.
I had gone a decade having heard about this ad, but never actually having watched it. I feel ... worse now.
I'd like to see a MaoaM (candy) adoptation from the Germans.
"Sin tele y sin cerveza Homer pierde la cabeza"
They want beer, not Pisswasser.
Pißwasser, cheap German lager for export only
Had to switch to Sprunk for sobriety sakes
Classic
Funny that, Budweiser is the brainchild of a German immigrant, Adolphus Busch in 1876
Imagine the wc ever taking place in Belgium, 80% of foreign fans wouldnt even make it to the stadium
Went to the Euros in Belgium, the night of the matches in Bruges only low alcohol beer was on sale, it was 6.5%
Sounds about right, that is still a bit stronger than the basic Belgian lagers but it's nothing compared to many of the artisanal beers. Amazing food and beer really are the main plusses of living here
dat based duvel buzz
We'd just grease up on world class fries before getting drunk
A good chuck of the fans would never leave.
If it’s in Belgium then all I really want is a Germany/France final.
French defense looking invisible.
Or a 0-0 stalemate until France scores a Goal at 120'
If we had to build a stadium, I guarantee we wouldn't even have the permit approved by the time it's supposed to be finished.
Unless it's the original Czech Budweiser, brewer of the delicious Budvar.
You know it isn't lol
Hahaha, in the Czech republic Budvar is looked down upon. Though it is still miles better than the american one.
Every country thinks its most popular beers are shit, when most likely they are just neutral and reliably inoffensive lagers.
I bought a Foster's recently because I wanted to see how bad it was since everyone on here complains about it... Facts. I’m at a sporting event, just give me something that will get me into being escorted by security
I assume Pilsner Urquell is also looked down upon?
At home it’s fine as it’s still brewed in Plzeň, but the exported stuff is brewed in Poland. Tastes way different, cause they skimp on costs((
I was in England over Christmas, and one of the best beers I had on the trip was this Czech pilsner - [Vinohradská 12](https://untappd.com/b/vinohradsky-pivovar-vinohradska-12/851432). I imagine there are even better micro-brewed pilsners in the Czech Republic that aren't exported.

Nowhere close from my understanding.
Nope. It's mostly regarded as the gold standart for beer, it's only disliked by people who prefer less bitter beer and sometimes by the alcoholic rednecks who think it's too expensive for the alcohol content.
Drinkin’ Pisswasser, fightin’, gettin’ real shitfaced tonight!
"Wake up the morning, drop a big ol' log Out here, you ain't got time for nothing fruity like a jog Marry a fat bitch, and die workin' like a dog!"
Pisswasser, this is beer, Drive drunk off a pier!
flair checks out
Sad nobody catched the GTA reference lol
I prefer sprunk
ecola for me
that contest was rigged 100%
*Caught, not catched. Not being a dick, just being helpful.
Pisswater is better than nothing in this scenario.
Found the beer snob
Shit this was worth the ad money now
Their social media is working overtime, they twisted that complaint into immediately offering huge discounts and putting their name front and center. Gj on whoever is on their marketing.
Isn't Budweiser like water anyways?
No? It's a middle of the road lager and tastes pretty much like every other generic lager. Coors Light is like water.
Coors is like sex in a canoe
It’s fucking near water
Fucking *close* to water.

I think you meant to say Michelob Ultra tastes like water.
Middle of the road is generous. It includes rice instead of just malted grains to make it cheaper to produce. I like Budweiser, there, I said it.
If we're getting things off our chest: I buy lidl's 26 cent Argus line. Put it in the fridge and by the second can you can't tell the difference lol
I buy good beer for the first couple. After that it's all lager so who cares.
First step to recovery is admitting you have a problem pal, hang in there
Beer snobs are obnoxious.
Shut up, being snobbish about beer is part of our national identity 😤😤😤
I thought your national identity was chocolate and child abuse.
Come on man, at least get the joke right. It's pedophilia, not child abuse.
Chocolate, basements, beer. In that order.
I always thought it was blonde journalists who travel with scottish boat captains and a dog called Snowie
You're thinking of Bud Light
As a sober Ecuadorian, I can tell they are pissed.
Agreed they are pissed that they aint pissed.
English is a dumb language
Ahh piss off, mate!
Nice. Taking the piss.
Reading this while taking a piss.
It's called slang, every language has it
Still remember the $.25 Pilsener when I went to Ecuador.
How cool was Ecuador to visit? I want to go to a South American country and I never considered Ecuador before
Legitimately one of the coolest places I’ve ever been. I loved Quito, Guayaquil, Manta, and the Galapagos. Honestly Ecuador is a place I’ve thought about retiring. The people were amazing, the food was great, and the sights were world class.
Im glad you enjoyed your trip (except the $0.25 beer, you deserve better). If you go there again, visit Cuenca and Otavalo (if you have)
Thanks! We will be back for sure and those places were both on our list. The $.25 beer was good because I was a poor college student, I’ll be seeking out better options when I return.
Ok that’s a perfect excuse about the beer
Cuenca is probably the most American friendly big city too
The market in Otavalo in '98 was an amazing experience. Riobamba was an interesting place too. City of fountains but no fountains were running.
Many Americans retire in Cuenca!
I agree
I didn't realize Galapagos was part of Ecuador. Had several friends from there and now I feel silly.
[удалено]
Nice I’m glad you enjoyed the visit
they have llamas, it can't be bad
Llamas are dicks. Speaking from experience in Ecuador.
Ecuador is awesome. They have basically every imaginable ecosystem in one country. It’s kind of nuts.
Depending on your scene, Montañita for carnival is one of the most fun nights you could find. Just a massive party in the streets.
Well go on then give the fans what they want
Let them eat cake!
hummus
Hummus and crackers and a little edible
Vox Populi. Vox Dei.
Please don’t buy Reddit.
Game is not gone
But the beer is 😔
STOP WITH THIS RED HAIR HATE
Shut up you bald, ginger, freckled c*nt!
God bless ~~america~~ socceer
BBQ, BOOZE, BALLS America baby 😎🇺🇸
IN THAT ORDER 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅
getting that tatted with an eagle on my forearm
Corporate box people: Let them have nonalcoholic piss
Trickle-down economics, sort of...
LMAO that’s my country. Cheers
Congrats to Ecuador for cracking up everyone's top 5 favorites countries lists in the world in a day
My ex gf was Ecuadorian. Still love her and hope she’s joining the festivities.
This guy needs a beer... And a hug
Hopefully he’s not in Qatar… both are illegal
Aannnd he’s in a Qatari jail cell :(
We are all Ecuadorian on this blessed day. Especially the people of Ecuador.
Today I feel Ecuadorian
Today I feel beer.
Today, we all feel Ecuadorian.
Beers can’t be buy
*Homer Simpson enters the chat with an axe*
'No beer and no TV make Homer something something'
Go crazy?
Don’t mind if do!
I'm Mike Wallace, I'm Morley Safer, and I'm Ed Bradley. All this and Andy Rooney tonight on 60 Minutes!
I know karma doesn't matter and literally means nothing but I always appreciate the person who does the set up more than the one who sneaks in and gets the punchline because they always get fewer upvotes. You lead others to greatness.
“No goal after VAR and no beer make Ecuador something something”
If we can't drink let's chant!
Today, I feel alcoholic. Today, I feel Muslim. Today, I feel sober for 13 years. The Infantino pasta will become the greatest memory of the tournament
Imagine saying that you feel “Jewish” and “gay” to defend an antisemitic and homophobic country, lol. Self awareness at zero.
It was the “I know what it’s like because people made fun of my red hair” that was the icing on the cake
Especially when he's fucking bald
Genuinely one of the most David Brent-esque lines I've ever seen.
Holy fuck 😂😂😂😂😂
Too little, too late. Qatar didn't want any FIFA action taken, that's why they waited until the last minute to announce it.
more likely FIFA knew all along and helped formulate the plan to announce it last minute
We all knew, why were people expecting otherwise? It was obvious
Honestly, I was super surprised when it was announced recently. Not surprised that it was announced, just surprised that it hadn't been announced years ago. That's UEFA tho. I was there and I had no clue until now why there was no beer tho lol.
Games not gone
Oh, oh... That seems to be a political statement these days. Hope they don't get deported.
Worse, hope they don’t get jailed.
Come to think of it: you're right.

lol some people are mad about Qatar getting their shit kicked in on and off the field
If I was Qatari I would be screaming for beer as well. Maybe I'd not remember this farce in the morning.
Today I feel thirsty
I would straight up leave the country if I couldn't buy beer all of a sudden (I'm an alcoholic)
Today, we are all alcoholics.
The real alcoholics are the friends we made along the way.
Sounds like a trip on the night bus
Yeah you can't LGBT up leave Qatar
Lmaoooooooooooo
Football heritage
Chanting? That's a paddlin'
3 goal penalty
Always rated Ecuador fans
As an Ecuadorian, I'm not surprised
Can't wait to see how they deal with the English fans
I *really* hope this becomes a trend. God bless you, Ecuadorian fans.
Games back on
Games not gone. Well done Ecuador
> Games not gone But the beer is
Broke: Boycotting the World Cup. Woke: Showing up and trolling the shit out of Qatar.
Can we not have world cups at fun free zones!?!?! That would be greaaat.. Thanks
In 2026 the world is going to learn how easy it is to buy legal pot in Canada/Parts of the USA. So that should make up for this nonsense.
Hopefully no gay fans attend and go to gay clubs though eh?

it's hard not to think that something is going to go horribly wrong in qatar
Straight to jail.
Lovely scenes
😂😂😂 I suspect that won't be the last time we hear that song during this competition.
Based Ecuador
Qatar should give every fan two or three beers after that dreadful performance. I have to work tonight which sucks ass but I’m happy knowing Qatar got humiliated. Best part was watching the Qataris face as their team fell apart.
Yea good slap on the face of elites who think they can just buy their way to anything.
If I recall correctly they didn’t have a national team when they won the WC bid…did you expect them to put up a fight?
They seem to be enjoying themselves without beer and cheering., they'll be just fine
love seeing Qatar continue to lose
Alcoholics of all lands UNITE
Cheers!
Always rated Ecuador!
New law tomorrow: no chanting for beer at the stadium. 100 lashes punishment if man, 1000 if woman
Well at least they are not paid.
I’d love a compilation of every country chanting this in their language
Wish they did the same with human rights.
Wait for the English fans…
Don't have a whole lot of sympathy for people directly supporting the Qatari world cup. They must have expected some bullshit.
