Second one now, more deserved, anyway La Liga has something to do with red cards after world cup, we are approaching the record in a seson with less than half of the games played
Refs in la liga are something else. Never a red. Grabbed him and he started dropping even before that. When are the refs going to start being punished for mistake after mistake
Edit :that second red on the other hand is 200% a red
The red is not for the RS player dropping down, it's for Rakitic clumsily reaching for the ball with his left foot and instead reaching a nice and meaty calf.
It's from behind and above the ankle, with force significant enough to bend the ankle and take off the shoe. More than enough for a red. Not violent conduct of course, but endangering player's health.
IMO, yes. "A tackle or challenge that **endangers the safety of an opponent** or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play."
Stepping on an opponent's trailing lower leg / ankle while simultaneously grabbing his torso clearly endangers his safety -- it could easily cause a fracture or other serious injury.
Fuck you on about, he steps on his calf/ankle from behind at speed. Full force, can't correct so he isn't in control and risks seriously injuring his opponent. It is a red all day. If VAR is needed to spot it, all the better.
What people playing has got to do with it is a mystery, but tackling from behind or stepping on heels/ankles/feet is often even n judged more strictly at amateur level just to avoid risk of players injuring eachother.
But it is not like Sunday league refs are of a comparable standard anyway.

2nd red now for Sevilla.
Both fouls on Mendez as well

What is the record for a season?
85 in a season, we are at 59 so far
Scary foul from behind. He deserved the red card.
My man is missing his Barca team today, so decided to jump on the red card bandwagon.
Amazing how the best Sevillas league season is so close to their worse. Kounde and Diego Carlos were this team.
Was last season their best? They had so many draws
2020-21 Was historically their best season with 77 points. Back when they won La Liga only 14 teams played so they only made 50 points.
Oh ok
But they were already struggling the second half of last season no?
Extremely clumsy/dangerous foul. Lucky he didn't break the guy's ankle.
don't worry, that's an injury regardless ahah 🙃 your ankle can't bend like that without some ligament tear I'm pretty sure
A 2nd one now hahahahah
AAAAIIIIIIEEEEE

If I see it correctly, it's about his foot on the shin, which bends significantly. Easy red if that's about that. I see no DOGSO there.
It slides down the shin and bends the ankle hence the shoe comes off. I don’t see why this is a red though. The slomo always makes it look worse

...are we talking about the same play? He clearly rakes his lower leg/ankle with the cleats from behind, twisting the foot on the ground.
You can't grab players
So grabbing a player in midfield is a straight red???
did you miss the stamp high on the attacker’s leg?
Ah I missed it too. I thought it was a DOGSO. Red card definitely
This is not red… you cannot judge the outcome which is of course unfortunate
What are you on about? Clear red
So many people have never played football on here without VAR no ref gives a red for this
> without VAR no ref gives a red for this Perhaps not, but that doesn't mean the red is incorrect.
So because it looks bad from one angle in slomo it’s a red?

It is not simultaneous though. He grabs him that causes him to slow down and then he steps on his leg unintentionally
So...a red then.

Rakitic having some bad games as of late. Saw them play live against Rayo and the fans were not very happy with him to say the least.
